On the Metalcloak lift Jeep it all depends on what setting the Falcon shocks are on. On setting 1 then you will feel the body roll, put them on 2-5 or 2-8 or even 3 and then try it.
Theres tons of variables here. Weight, shocks, springs. Metalcloak has springs that have dual rates, which is why theyre more bunched, but when at max articulation they're better than a fixed rate spring.
Since most of us are on road most of the time, unless you flatbed your rig to the trails, can you please do a real time on road review for us daily driver folks…thanks!
@@Marie-kj3xf We love our set up. It’s my daily driver, and we have taken it thru a half dozen moderate Georgia trails. I did add sway bar links disconnects from Teraflex which greatly improved the trail handling experience on my Sahara 4xe. On highways or sharp curves with rolling hills the suspension handles like a dream.
Agreed , Pops jeep has a better shock on it in my opinion so if he can adjust em to be firmer it would most likely be about the same . I can honestly say tho , Clayton's components are a bigger stronger product . If you go back to the install part of the video you will see just one instance of it.
Had metal cloak game changer lift. Changed my control arms to terraflex IR. I like the terraflex more. And the metal cloak ends were worn out on two control arms. Had that metal cloak lift on for a year and a half.
9:54 what can you tell me about the hood blackout on your dad’s Jeep? Is it solid black or topographic? I’m looking for a solid with the red stripe for my JTR. Just wondering if it’s one of the sets I’ve found. Can’t remember the companies.
I have their 3 link front long arm kit, and rear long arms and their rear track bar. The front axle is trussed for the 3 link. 4.5 lift with their coils. Love it.
MetalCloak is the top choice if you truly care about your ride. The suspension is firmer but paired with the right shocks you get a stronger more articulated grip then Clayton. Just get adjustable like Fox or better yet Falcon 3.3’s the stiffness goes away.
Pretty happy I found your channel .... nothing but pure honest imput from someone who actually knows it & does it !!! I am curious about that extremely large antenna ? Any input would be appreciated 👍
I’ve got a JLUR on true 37s with the off-road+ 2.5” and the bump stops prevent me from rubbing. I’ve got about 2” still before I rub. Im considering pulling the Clayton bump stops and using something else to get a little more out of the Jeep. Did you use what Clayton provided or something different?
Is that the am fib snorkel system? Is it performing, and holding up well for you? Any input on your experience with that snorkle will be appreciated. Thank you, Brandon 😇
Hey guys! Great video! I just recently put this sameclayton lift but the 3.5" on my gladiator. At first it felt smooth and nice. Then I put 35" tires on it and since it has felt so bumpy. I can feel EVERY bump and it's kinda making me sad. Did I do something wrong?
Great video and really informative! We are looking for the right lift for our 2019 JLUR. This is a great looking lift and might be in the future. I really think everyone would appreciate your videos a little more if Brandi had you wear the traditional MC Hammer cargo pants while commentating....🤣🤣
These videos have been extremely helpful for a complete beginner like me to understand how to do my jeep build correctly. Can someone rate my setup? I've got a 2021 Wrangler unlimited 4xE Sahara (thankfully the 4xe has the D44 as standard so I don't have to worry about axles). Upgrades: Highline rubicon fenders Wheels- KMC Grenade Crawl wheels 4.75 backspace 0 offset Tires- 37 goodrich k02s suspension lift- teraflex 2.5" RT2 short arm kit shocks- falconSP2 3.3 adjustable ..... am i missing anything or am i way off on anything? Any feedback would be extremely extremely appreciated :)
That was me in the black gladiator lol. We had a little group of that camped out there over the weekend. Very cool to see yall there. Ive been watching a few of yalls video’s lately.
between Clayton and Metal Cloak, I would choose Clayton. Metal Cloak is stronger than many of the name brands but they are not in the top strongest category.
@@BenandBrandi Ok, tire pressure? I have the metal cloak but I am on Fox 2.5's and when aired down it is smooth but I think the spring rate is stiffer for greater cargo capacity.
Anybody else noticed they tightened up all the link arms before putting the weight of the vehicle

Just purchased the 2.5" Clayton Overland and Falcon Fast Adjust, can't wait to get them installed. So far this vid, justifies my gut and research.
We are out in Moab now. It’s performing beautifully! Subscribe for real time updates on it!

Both good lifts. The new rocksport black shocks are a major improvement on the MC.
Good stuff man! Nice to see some info on this system.
Thanks for the review!
Went with Clayton myself on my Gladiator. Glad I did.
For sure. We are impressed so far! Hope you subscribe to our channel!
Hard to imagine much difference between the two. I’m thinking shocks and tire pressure differences.
yeah, shock settings for sure would make it feel totally different.

It’s the falcon shocks that are the issue with the Metalcloak lift
Question. Are the falcons adjustable? If so did you try adjusting them to see if the ride would change?
They are and he did. He is going to adjust them all the way soft after that ride. I will update on it in a future video. Hope you subscribed!
I saw you at Harrisonville at a garage sale/ yard sale
I'm getting body roll on my 2.5" X-Factor Rock Krawler...was thining about going Clayton springs to see if that helps.
Pretty happy I found your channel .... nothing but pure honest imput from someone who actually knows it & does it !!! I am curious about that extremely large antenna ? Any input would be appreciated 👍
Thank you!! Was just a cosmetic accessory. Haha
What was the old lift that broke?
what antenna are you on that rig?
Serious question, how did you trash your springs? Or, how did you know they were trashed?
Over flex and stretch. Yeah they were trashed. Lost all the stiffness of the spring.
Try flexing them out and see which one flexes better.
Coming soon! Make sure you subscribe to catch the video!

What size are your Rims n Tires???
17” wheels and 37” tires

Rugged ridge. And it’s been great!

What size wheels are you running?
@BenandBrandi 17" stock rims. Also have the have fox shocks
Sounds like stiff shocks or springs… the Clayton will mostly give you articulation and stability..
Give the new shocks a few weeks or so to loosen up.
@@BenandBrandi it's been about 6 weeks already
Man i liked them hummer wheels they looked bad ass, what happened to them ?
Sold them with the rig.
What shocks are on your jeep in the vid? Thanks.
Bilstein
Curious why you keep the tow bar parts on the front - aren't you worried you will bend/break one off by hitting a rock?
Not really. They are super stout. I occasionally remove them if the trail is bad enough with approach angles.

"Bumpy" would be shocks and spring rates.
Dude, going from skyjacker to Fruit RollUps is gonna feel better, of course the Clayton is superior
Trashed springs on gnarly trail. Yeah doubt it.
Cool story.

I think this video is more of a my lift kit is better than yours video 🤦🏻♂️ I wouldn’t base my decision on something like this
Cool. Thanks for your thoughts… 🤦♂️
I mean, he literally said "I don't know anything about it but I'll show you what we got on it" and has a shop do all of his work....so I mean, YMMV
It’s a Jeep thing
Adjust the shocks.
They are on the softest setting and placement.
