In ur diagram you have shown 02 girders placed over a single bearing, is that correct? Also does bearing can be placed over pier or u have to place bearing over the pedestals above the pier cap? Elastomeric bearing is only a type of bearing, there r lots of bearing.... But yes, its necessity has been explained well...
