I'm glad you made this video. Me rug has been off for months. I really thought about putting a few cards on NH OS to see how it goes. Thanks again, looking forward for the update.
So this dosent work on AMD rigs? One of my 12 card rigs shows up as UNMANAGED and it does not allow me to choose anything, no overclocks , algos, nothing.......make a new updated video Hobby.
If your using NHOS, it might be better to use nvidia graphics card. My AMD 6600xt efficiently drastically reduced.. NHOS likes to ramp up the power for RX6600XT
Just got a black screen on the rig.. and checked NH online and see 0 Rigs. I got HiveOS to run from your other video after several hours.. but it mines ETH like 30c a day on 3 GPUs. Meanwhile NH Easy Miner did like $1 on 2 GPUs on two separate PCs. Don't know what's going on
I created a bootable disk with the Nicehash OS just like I did for HIVEOS but after booting , it gets to a certain point and hangs. so i gave up on it lol@@TheHobbyistMiner
i ran nice hash for 2 months. im sorry but i thing they are crap. just my thoughts. they says they take 2% but when i make $10 bucks then my then i get message saying i paid out $10 bucks . thats 50% not 2%
@The Hobbyist Miner OK thanks for the reply just that couldn't see it when I go on app one more can I install this as a main os from my windows because mining is all I use my computer now got a 1660
Its working really well. The only thing that bothers me is when the system has an error, I get an email telling me an email occured. Which is great. But nothing on the Web GUI tells me what that error or problem was. Apparently Error/logs can only be viewed as of today March 2023 by plugging a monitor into the rig.
I finally got this to boot on my AMD rig, but only the card in the X16 slot shows up, all the other 6 is not present.. And the fan control confuses the heck out of me.. I made a profile with target temp and to apply it i have to test.. I just want to apply it.. WHen i click stop test it reverts back to the stock profile, trying to select the profile i just made mades no difference.. It should not be this hard.. I mean, HiveOS made it work fine..
Doesn't seem to allow overclocks (mem core or power) for me (on 16 20 or 30 series) the option is just greyed out. I can set a fan speed and pick a miner but that's it. I thought they might have the bugs ironed out buy now but I'm stuck at full boost clock and everything is about to melt. (All cards on supported list) I see no way option make an overclock profile, all the benchmarks are completed and I mined until it hit 82c at 100% fan while repeatedly trying to click different greyed out apply options for clocks I wanted to apply. YET ANOTHER DAY WASTED ON NICEHASH OS (NEW VERSION SAME BS)
Got the NHOS V2 up and running. But when I go to change the fan speed nothing happens. Click on apply/test and nothing. Even made a bundle with it and no go. Anyone else dealing with this?
I'd say depends on your mining strategy. I'd recommend HIVEOS if your looking to mine Coins Directly and Get paid out in those Coins. I am finding if you want to stack BTC, Nicehash is a great avenue to go to avoid exchanges and converting fees. Nicehash also is a good avenue for newer miners. I am using this on my Cousin's two 10 Series Rigs as he just wants to stack BTC.
Ok a few issues. One issue is memory types. With Hive, its always nice to see the memory type for silicon lottery etc. I don't think it was part of the NH OS 2.0. Two is payout is only in BTC. Although they have an exchange you can or send it to the exchange of your choice. Lastly, I was around and using NH when that huge hack occurred. I would be very mindful of leaving any BTC on NH.
Nicehash Operating System (NHOS) has been around for a while. It always was Linux-based, but it lacked functionality and reliability imo. I use to edit the JSON file to set my fan speed to increase based on GPU temperature, but never had any luck with overclocks working. Because of this I ended up only using Nicehash on small Windows rigs. The online dashboard with the new OPTIMIZE button looks nice because you can select specific algorithms and miners at the GPU level. This is definitely a simplified way to mine various algorithms, but I'm dreading fine tuning 60 GPUs that include several different ones. More like days, not hours.
Not really. Once you create a profile for a certain model, that profile can be applied to all the same GPUs. If anything, it makes things easier than via HiveOs (at least for multi algo overclocking)
@@Mario-cc9fp Not entirely true. Yes you can apply the profile, but it doesn't mean it will be stable. I've had as many as 72 GPUs mining (ETH 3.4GH/s before PoS) at once and can tell you from experience that just because 2 or more GPUs are the same does not mean they can all handle the same overclocks. I've experienced this with 10 series, 20 series, 30 series and some older AMD 570/580 GPUs. I wanted to get the most out of my GPUs without compromising stability.
Nah....left nicehash because i want to keep the specific coins i mine.. maybe when things getting more profitable it's worth it but now i mine and collect altcoins
Profit switching might not be profitable in the long run better pick good projects and just stick w it for a few years history has shown it to be more profitable than switching all the time

correct me if I am wrong, but this OS does not support creating coins to a wallet - is only "renting" your GPUs, right?
Correct. It swaps what your rigs are mining to what has hashrate has been rented and pays you in BTC.
