    Hi Ben, interesting to watch.
    I've taken part at some art&craft markets in the past, I'm really looking forward to do it again.

    Brilliant video Ben
    Great to see the preparation that goes into getting the prints and mounts sorted and setting up the stall. Love the greeting cards idea I bet they sell well too
    Best wishes

      Hey Tim! How are you? Probably the best tip I could give if anyone is considering doing craft market's or art fairs is to get greetings cards 👍

    Very cool look at the behind the scenes process preparing for one of these shows. Ice done one show and had some success, should do more in the future. Fabulous display you had there. Seems a really great way to get your name out there especially to a local market that you might not hit with social media. Great video Ben and great.job previewing it prior to release! Hope you are doing well mate, chat soon!

      Nice one Paul, thank you! There seemed to be a real boom with crafter's in the US, I remember seeing on Instagram before the pandemic. It'd be great to see your work, it'd sell loads 👍🙂

      @@PhotosByFinch we have a lot of art shows around here. Some are a bit more uppity and posh and some are a little more edgy which I quite prefer. But the better money lies in the posh shows.

    Great to see your process , something i have thought about on occasions but never got round to printing enough to have a stock of images to sell. Glad things are starting to open back up for you again, some normality would be good about now !

    Great vlog Ben, some great tips in that vlog. Craft fairs are something I did think about doing pre-lockdown but I needed to (and still do) need to produce more landscape work to sell. I used to sell prints of my automotive work via facebook which was fairly successful - a fair few of those prints were printed at digitalab in Newcastle.

    • @PhotosByFinch
      @PhotosByFinch  3 года назад

      Thanks for watching bud, yep Digitalab are quality and you can't really go wrong at all 👍

  • @AndrewHamiltonPhotography
    @AndrewHamiltonPhotography 3 года назад +1

    Really really interesting Ben - I did start to look at this pre lockdown and there weren't any craft fairs that local to me which was disappointing but I'd love to have a go - I think if I could find a local one i would be offering for sale many of my local lockdown images with which people can associate in terms of the place. Where do you get your cellophane bags and labels btw? Like the idea of acid free tape. It's definitely got me thinking about this sales opportunity again and i'll be jumping on google to see if there any near me now things are opening back up again - great stuff and a highly enjoyable watch mate :)

    • @PhotosByFinch
      @PhotosByFinch  3 года назад

      Thanks mate! The cellophane bags came with the mount and backing board as a set, with the cost of the print it worked out about £6 or so to get it made so fairly cheap. The labels I get from Amazon, just search printing labels and then check the size , I normally go for 6cm x 4cm. Thanks again for watching 👍☺️

    I've never tried selling prints at a fair or a market. I like the idea of mounting them, but selling without the frame - great idea, as people can be really particular about their frames. This was really interesting and useful mate - something I'll definitely consider doing. 👍

    • @PhotosByFinch

      It's a really rewarding process even to talk with locals about the local photographs I've taken, glad the video was helpful! 👍😊

  • @paulkennedycreativemedia
    @paulkennedycreativemedia 3 года назад +1

    Great insight to how this is done. Would love to shadow you at the market sometime doing this. Probably have to be next year 😬 does it cost much to book a spot/table for the market?

    • @PhotosByFinch
      @PhotosByFinch  3 года назад +1

      Ah that'd be amazing mate, to be honest the Fox Market is incredibly affordable, it's only £15 and a table is included underneath the gazebo. All the promotion of the market done by Victoria and the pub is all inclusive. The ethos has always been for the locals and to promote local small independent sellers 👍
