There are in fact many trans people who suffer with urinary infection because they are so disgusted by their genitals that they even avoid pee! But I'm also talking from a medical perspective, of course there are many social layers into this topic and there's also genfluids, non-binaries, etc, but I'm gonna avoid this because I don't really know that much to be able to do so. Also, although trans people have a mental issue, that doesn't mean they are sick or have a disease and that they should accept the body they were born. Therapy to learn how to cope, hormones and surgery are the way to "treat" them, because just like austim, there is nothing wrong with being different. U just have to learn how to deal with your particularities, but there's ways and ways to deal with it. Also, there are ones who must do the surgery, others just feels like the hormones is enough, I'd say it really is an spectrum thus the need of therapy to undestand what's the best solution for each case
Because sometimes it’s not as simple as someone who genuinely doesn’t understand and is trying to. And to people who are ignorant and still misgender them knowing their sexuality.
The kid was chill yet everyone else keeps freaking out
Because sometimes it’s not as simple as someone who genuinely doesn’t understand and is trying to. And to people who are ignorant and still misgender them knowing their sexuality. She understands that he is trying to learn and not be rude. The doctors need to no for scientific reasons and treatment but they are also referring to them as she. Because they are a girl. They identify as a girl.

He isn’t wrong, it doesn’t matter if it’s a fucking zi/zir, we’re talking biologically. That’s the whole fucking point of this episode too.
Speaking about medical issues happening with someone's sex doesn't mean you can't use their preferred pronouns, that's just a dick move
@@krool_aid9835 he was just saying biologically. Also telling other people they have to call you what they want is also a dick move.
@@someguyxoxo8027 it isn't even necessarily hard. They can just call me by my pronouns, and still say that my sex is whatever. It isn't a lot of effort and it makes the patient a lot more comfortable. Forcibly not using them and making a huge point about it is just bringing unnecessary politics into the check up room. Who cares what you have to call your patient just to make them that little bit more comfortable and safe in a place like a hospital.
@@krool_aid9835 First this started by talking about biology alone and so you give up on that and agree hes right with that. Second you want the doctors that may be dealing with dire situations to make sure to add a extra calculation in their head to make sure when to say your biological sex and what you want to be? Doesn't seem like the best of ideas. Also "forcibly" you know that making someone say something they don't really want to say is more forceful then someone just saying a fact that is necessary, right? Who cares about what you want to be called just let the doctors do what they need to safe you from awful illness and even death.
@@someguyxoxo8027 the thing is it's barely even a matter of passing. That girl *looks* like a girl. That doctor specifically looked at her files, and called that girl by her sex, despite her wishes AND her presentation. Of course her sex is male, everybody in the room knew that, but they were still calling her by her preferred pronouns. The actual comment implies that doctor is in the right for calling some girl in a medical setting a man because it's "biologically correct" or whatever. Nobody said that you need to ignore their biological sex, it's just not that hard at all to call that girl she/her. Doctors should be the least bit flexible, especially in the US where every time you go to the hospital nothing is done and your bill is like $10,000+. God forbid you want the doctor to treat you with basic decency and minimum respect.
Both patient and Dr Murphy have humble intent to learn and understand. This is admirable.
And its sadly more than can be said for most transphobes
Learn and understand what? Mental disorders?
It’s honestly a really fair representation of the linear thinking that many people with ASD have. I appreciate how the kiddo in this scene entertains the questions and tries to answer honestly while still asserting she’s a girl.
... they cut out the part where he had testicular cancer. Reality set in hard for their kid.
Answered both honestly and it looked like she genuinely enjoyed being asked about her femininity. I haven't seen the episode but I'd like to know if she got to ask him questions about being autistic. From what little I've seen of the show, I think he'd be happy to answer her questions in turn.
