When Sloan (Morgan Freeman) goes to Wesley's (James McAvoy) office, he discovers the decoy just as Wesley puts a bullet through his head.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Night Watch director Timur Bekmambetov helms his first English-language feature film with this big-screen adaptation of Mark Millar's action-packed graphic novel. Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) is a cube-dwelling hypochondriac whose uneventful life has become a mundane blur of terminal boredom. Repeatedly humiliated by his boss and constantly cuckolded by his cheating girlfriend, weakling Wes seems to be living right down to everyone's expectations that he would never amount to anything in life. However, upon discovering that the father he never knew has been brutally murdered, the spineless, clock-punching pushover is recruited into a secret society of assassins known as the Fraternity. During the course of his training, the man who was once an office-bound wimp develops lightning-fast reflexes and superhuman dexterity courtesy of his skilled mentor Fox (Angelina Jolie). Upon completing his training, Wes is assigned the task of dealing out death to the mythological Fates, who possess the ability to alter the lifelines of mortal men. I loved that this movie was a one-off. No prequel or sequel or spin off into a limited series like everything else today. Made it stand out in my memory. Good stuff.
It has an under rated game that was amazing.
Its based of a comic book where what if the villains won and killed every superhero...the movie only focused on the assassins and excluded the other supers
Eh, give it another 10 years. You'll see a remake, a spin-off, etc. The Equalizer turned from an old British guy to Denzel (a Black man) to Queen Latifah (a Black woman), so the Wesley you get in those remakes might not be the same guy (or even be a guy at all).

I don't mind unrealistic movies as long as they don't take themselves too seriously and stays consistent with their movie logic. That's one of the reasons I enjoyed this movie.

At first I thought it was cause the bullet passed through his beer, but that isn't it.
The thing I love the most about this scene is how the decoy is smiling.
He's smiling since he knows that he doesn't have a single thing to worry about: the most badass assassin to ever live paid him to sit there and have a gun pointed at him. He literally doesn't have to worry about anything, just ignore everything and rake in the bucks.
...Wouldn't you be smiling too, if the greatest painter on the planet decided to use you as a subject _and_ pay you for the privilege?
Truly an underrated part of the scene.
Plot Twist: Morgan doesn't even give him the chance to move.

True story. This movie came out when I was in the midst of the worst time of my life. Heading for a divorce. Kids were taken from wife by ACS and wife who went back on drugs and drinking falsified domestic violence claims against me making me homeless. Forced by courts to therapy. Forced by therapy to take antidepressants and antianxiety medications. Or be noncompliant and not get my kids back. Then I watched this movie especially that ending. Especially that line. I was in an instant the 'I'm sorry ' Wesley to the WTF have you done lately Wesley. Many years later -this morning im home completely off all meds typing out this post getting ready for work while my children are in their beds asleep So to make the point I answered the question Seven kids Single father five of these children still live with me Two are grown and moved out. Remarried. You can do it.

Just watched the movie yesterday and I LOVE IT.
Mostly the ending dialogue about taking control over our life and "WHAT THE F**K HAVE DONE LATELY??" still reminds me about doing or achieving something in our life as early as possible before it's too late.
It's also the truest to the source material. In the actual comic books, there is rather a lot of fourth-wall breaking and it's revealed at the end that Wesley (now a triumphant supervillain) has been recounting the whole story as a fervent "screw you" to the mundane world he was mired in and loathed throughout his life before one particular villain saved his butt from it all.
Funny thing is...'cuz the director of this movie is Timur Bekmambetov (Russia, "Night/Day Watch") he made an "easter egg" for russian audiences. Insted of "WHAT THE F**K HAVE DONE LATELY??" Wesley sayd "Попал?' - russian for "I've got him?". Better yet he said that in clean russian language (James McAvoy that is). Yeah, it's also the 4th wall brake...but i like US version better)

The best part about this scene is that Wesley proved that he is a superior assassin than his father. He not only figured out his father’s decoy to have Sloan standing exactly where Wesley wanted him to be, but he did the whole bait and switch with only one shot fired and one person’s death. The decoy lived and Sloan never got a single shot off.
