Samuel, you are quite inspiring. I am 53 years old. I struggled earning my undergraduate degree. Fast-forward into my early 40’s and I went back to get a Master’s Degree. My maturity helped me quite a bit, and I feel that I learned a lot more than I did when 20. It's interesting to hear how you describe law because it's very similar to physics questions where you have to apply the concepts you've learnt to new and unfamiliar situations. It seems like it's the humanities counterpart of physics. I think because you were studying medicine, these types of questions didn't come up too often cause you mostly (not all the time) needed to memorise information for exams. I'm studying physics in uni and it's really fun if you enjoy applying what you've learnt to new situations! You also don't have to memorise too much because once you really understand a concept, it will stick with you. One thing that helps me remember stuff in maths and physics is to always consider how a new concept or equation relates to what you already know. To me, a benefit of studying physics is that I don't have to remember too much content :) Great video as always btw!
You are the most amazing studier I’ve ever seen. I can never even determine what information is relevant, I get FOMO and basically end up copying the textbook verbatim. What a skill to have to figure out what to learn and how to learn like you have!

We have an assignment to turn in our notes from the semester, something we will use later in our practice and I was feeling stressed out- I hadn’t figured out how to format information yet. I decided to drop from full time to part time because honestly, while I was doing well, it felt like I wasn’t retaining any information and I needed to go back and review already. Having this space to process the information was a relief and I got in my head to do my notes visually and use my creative brain to learn in the process. It may take more time but I feel I’d actually learn it, which is the point, right? I got really excited about this idea. And then I found you. I got so emotional watching your videos. 15:45 is exactly what lawyers do. This 4-part process is found in every case. It may apply to 1) legal rules (form), or 2) any area of substantive law (as varied as life itself when two or more human beings are involved). Law school class study relies heavily on outlines, and Notion seems to allow you to use toggle to hide/expose subparts of the outline. This allows you to easily test yourself as you review it. I -> A -> 1 -> a -> i each being a subpart of the previous one. Good law is incredibly logical to minute detail. Your process involves review of the material several times., which is critical (unless you have a photographic memory). Well done Samuel!

Finally someone said it! Finally a STEM student agreed that business is not as easy as many people think. Studying business is totally different and difficult people think business is easy I mean? In science, you just have to memorize stuff but in business you've to implement things in real life problems which is interesting but hard at the same time! Like he said, you have given a problem most probably a business case study with real life problems face by industry, govt or an individual company and you have to solve it with what you've learned in lecture and tbh it's hard sometimes courses like organizational behavior, business/corporate law, principles of management takes so much time on case study to be solved.

I did law as an undergraduate and now a masters in law. Honestly it is extremely difficult but weirdly fun. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. Also, looking forward to your keynote video.
Thank you so much for uploading this video. I started studying law part time last year (in my 30s), whilst working full time and could not find a way to keep track of my notes and learnings. A lot of “study-tubers” have these fancy science and maths notes which just wouldn’t work for law. So thank you for your candid insights and perfect explanation of IRAC ;)

All of your content is extremely informative and have inspired me to become a better student through better visual note taking.
Law is not actually that hard. Depends on how your brain works. The hard part is having a science based mind and studying law suddenly. He is doing a great job using what he knows to learn something new.

I definitely don't know what to say about this marvelous video! Besides telling us you changed the way you take notes, you show us another application you're using (Notion) and share with us the way you use it in this new topic - Laws. It was great the way you transferred the contents from Notion to Keynote, using it as a well designed platform to print out your annotations. Samuel, you are a great student, and an even better teacher!
100% on point. This is why we have SOO many books on the same topics because the truth is, success in every area of life is actually simple it's just not easy. and Knowledge is only really powerful when it's actually used and put into practice.
I started watching this channel before getting into law school and it was really nice to learn about the learning process. However, when I got into the law school I couldn’t follow the same approach he used for understanding concepts of biology because of the differences between the subjects . I am really glad that he came up with this video and now I can try a new approach for learning.
Its kind of a coincidence i was used to write my notes in goodnotes just like you then from this semester i shifted to typing my notes in CANVA and you did it too ..😂
I have ZERO interest in Law! I thank you for presenting your approach to solving the "Learning Challenge" to help you achieve success in learning Law! The presentation is expertly paced. Clear annunciation, logically structured and somehow interesting almost "edge of chair" suspense with what would be expected to be boring. Very well done!!! I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Your videos are amazing, Sam. Not only do they inspire me as a student but as a part time content creator. It makes me move from watching videos on the couch to working on the table. Your videos are so well made, and your storytelling skills are just so good. Love, Yaseen.
This completely REVOULUTIONISED the way I study and learn law. I started law at the University of Cambridge as a first year and it was so difficult to wrap my head around. There was so much content to slog through and none of it made any sense. I wasn't able to join and connect the dots into something that made sense. Watching your video really helped me look at the best way to understand and interpret the law into something tangible. ps that case collection table is GENIUS
to organize the lectures and your highest levels in notion i recommend using gallery view and changing the cards to small and the view to none its super cool my friend calls them ‘bubbles’. Gallery views within gallery views are amazing for indexing complex fields and u can have toggles within the gallery pages that were in the higher gallery views
As a lawyer, I can say that I wish I watched this when I was in law school hah (of course I think IPad were just coming out then, but still). Great work. I would have loved to have taken a copy of my notes from the reading and then marked it up while the professor was going over it in class. Typing was always a pain because it's tough to both pay attention and type in a format that makes sense when you go back. I'm not TOOO much older than you, but I'll still say you kids are lucky all this stuff is available. It would have really made things a lot easier when I was in school.

Like he said, you have given a problem most probably a business case study with real life problems face by industry, govt or an individual company and you have to solve it with what you've learned in lecture and tbh it's hard sometimes courses like organizational behavior, business/corporate law, principles of management takes so much time on case study to be solved.
This video is literally GODSENT! Thank you!
Me being a student of Law in Brazil studying a kind of Law TOTTALLY different (since he studies Common Law and I Civil Law) and he still was able to help me. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Watched 2 minutes and already feel motivated 🙏
I did law as an undergraduate and now a masters in law. Honestly it is extremely difficult but weirdly fun.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom.
Also, looking forward to your keynote video.
Hello sir, happy to see you again here❤️❤️
Thank you so much for uploading this video.
Can you make an tutorial how you made these “physical” Notes in Keynote please? Nice video
Honestly, thank you so much for your content. I'm a nursing student and have been struggling to find a good way to take notes and absorb the materials, and I came across your videos yesterday. All of your content is extremely informative and have inspired me to become a better student through better visual note taking.
I knew Notion had to pop up eventually. Nice one Samuel!
The best video for a law student taking digital notes. Love from India Bro.
WTF he’s doing two subjects considered the toughest 🤭😩
business is the toughest? lol
@@benschmitt7035 Medicine and law is
Actually math is the hardest subject
business is easiest but medicine, law, and engineering are extremely hard
Law is not actually that hard. Depends on how your brain works. The hard part is having a science based mind and studying law suddenly. He is doing a great job using what he knows to learn something new.
Samuel this is the first time I have got to your YT channel... and I am very amazed by this video. I knew Notion can be used for incredible things, but you took it to the whole new level. You have one more follower of your great work, who is super grateful for meeting you. Best luck with your studies and THANK YOU!!
*Absolutely amazing Samuel! Students and Entrepreneurs should learn from this! Keep failing, Keep learning, Keep going and Never give up!*
I ALWAYS CHECK IF YOU HAVE UPLOADED THANK GOD YOU DID!!❤️
100% on point. This is why we have SOO many books on the same topics because the truth is, success in every area of life is actually simple it's just not easy. and Knowledge is only really powerful when it's actually used and put into practice.
Wow! This advice would have been SO useful on my IB psychology course 🤩
This was so insightful ! From the bottom of my heart : Thank you Samuel
I’m glad it helped!
Your videos are amazing, Sam. Not only do they inspire me as a student but as a part time content creator. It makes me move from watching videos on the couch to working on the table. Your videos are so well made, and your storytelling skills are just so good. Love, Yaseen.
Notion is just Amazing ❤️
As someone in business I really appreciate this video. Finally one I can relate to…
This completely REVOULUTIONISED the way I study and learn law.
I’m glad it helped
getting this recommended a month before law school was a blessing!!
Welcome back King 😌
to organize the lectures and your highest levels in notion i recommend using gallery view and changing the cards to small and the view to none its super cool my friend calls them ‘bubbles’. Gallery views within gallery views are amazing for indexing complex fields and u can have toggles within the gallery pages that were in the higher gallery views
*the gallery view database that is (you can add emojis too it’s super cute)
Damn never clicked so fast
As a lawyer, I can say that I wish I watched this when I was in law school hah (of course I think IPad were just coming out then, but still). Great work. I would have loved to have taken a copy of my notes from the reading and then marked it up while the professor was going over it in class. Typing was always a pain because it's tough to both pay attention and type in a format that makes sense when you go back. I'm not TOOO much older than you, but I'll still say you kids are lucky all this stuff is available. It would have really made things a lot easier when I was in school.
Please make tutorials on how to get most of out of the apps like Notion, Good Notes and Key Note.
I was justttttt about to look up another notion video, but you were already on my feed with a new video... USING NOTION. Wow.
