Samuel, when I found your channel I wished you did more videos. Your content is of so much quality and interest I always wanted to watch more. And finally you are uploading more now. I'm so happy about that. I enjoy it so much. Good job!
Absolutely brilliant. I’m 30 years married, a grandfather now, and certainly in the latter end of life, but there’s still much to contribute and your message here resonates with me deeply. Thank you, Samuel.
Today I decided to be disciplined with my time and talents. I do not think it was a coincidence that I watched this video of yours today. Thank you for your thoughts. You have helped me know I am not the only one who has and probably will continue to struggle with being disciplined.
Samuel, you are a gift that keeps on giving. My world, for whatever it’s worth, is a richer place for having watched your videos. Always relevant. Always inspiring. Keep breathing your insights into the world, so that others may find theirs.
Samuel, you are not a just a man. You are a prophet. Seriously. I wish we could have politicians with your mentality. Having a discipline to serve. To make the institute, the village, town or city, even the world a little bit better place.
Samuel, I'm 62 and I recognise myself in every word. Perfectionism and imposter syndrome got me big time for the majority of my life. You're also right about the deadlines, they eventually get me going and finish things. Approaching the fall of my life, it became this deadline where the awareness of a finite end at some point doesn't leave too much headroom to procrastinate. I've read many of Seth Godin's books and find him very inspiring. Your video is a new kick in the but and I'll keep getting back to it in search for support to just ... ship. I'm a musician of 40+ years in business who'd love to share his love for acoustic slide guitar to the world. Just for the joy of sharing and carrying the torch of this very niched playing style. I started livestreaming this year to overcome the fear of talking into the camera, but the leap over to recorded videos is still overwhelming.
As a 51-year-old who has stumbled and stumbled and stumbled, but also succeeded more times than failed, this video spoke volumes to me. I struggle to recall my victories, and many of the victories I personally considered failures (despite all signs to the contrary). As a result, over the years I've become progressively more selective in projects I take on (thus, perfectionism), which has netted fewer and fewer finished projects and wins. Thank you for making and releasing this video. You stopped me in my tracks this morning.
I am in a place right now where I have been struggling immensely and this is exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you SO much Samuel, you’ve made such a contribution with this video. ❤️
Samuel, I am very similar and your videos especially on how you take notes and use your i pad changed my approach to uni. I used that enthusiasm and love for learning. I went from a passing student to a distinction level and I always show people your videos when they ask how I did it. You have a gift at making videos and communicating your thoughts, please don’t give up.
You are so right! I want it to share with you something I heard from a Spanish sphycologist, she said - More reaches the one who has will than the intelligent. With "will" I mean with commitment, perseverance, constance, in Spanish the word is "voluntad", but don't know how to translate it. Just look at all this guys in youtube who post only stupit things, but they are committed and keep posting. I encourage you to keep being committed, because I feel so much like you. I have a RUclips channel that I haven't touched since 5 years ago, not only that, but I removed the old videos one day because I thought they weren't good enough and I want it to do better contain. And now I am a busy mum and wife and can't get even time to do everything I have to do. So yes, start from now and keep always some time where you won't let anyone take that time from you, just to do that thing that you know will blesses at least that one person, And thanks for the post, it really encouraged me ☺️
Samuel, I am glad I kept the faith when you were having your RUclips break. To see your work now I am very great full you are back, your message is inspiring and very relevant to me. Thank you for your contribution, please keep putting the work in, I am benefiting greatly 👍👍🙏🙏
brother, this video is life-changing for a person like me... I can relate it each word... Love you brother, will like to meet you someday in person. Love from- Sunil
Samuel, I say this with all the sincerity of the world... your video just changed my life. Every word you said, felt like it was meant for me. I haven't felt so identified in my entire life. Discipline has always been a struggle for me, because of my perfectionism, and I always procrastinated because of it. Thank you so much for uploading, and I thank the RUclips algorithm for putting you on my home page. I literally told my parents about it, because it's true, you really have inspired me to be a better person. I appreciate it so much. I won't miss an upload, it's so good to have you back! - Angélica
I eagerly wait every week for your videos! This weekly dose of motivation or any content from you is what keeping me motivated and running for the past couple of weeks... Thank you very much for doing what you are doing! Your videos give me the motivation to do what I want to make my life to! Waiting to see you next week! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
It’s also easier… we are not something and we are not set in stone. I never understood what people meant with “this is who I am”. We choose who to be and how to live and what to do with our time. We can be one thing one day and another thing another day and we are that. If you think of who you were two years ago, you’ll notice changes in how you used to think or do and the further back you go the more changed you will realise you are today. So, yes, perfectionism is bad but most people blaming perfectionism is just another way of coping with setting that goal aside and it then becomes easier to “forgive” ourselves for never having done it. Nike’s motto might be one of the simplest but also one of the best ever created: Just Do It !
Dear Samuel, I am a third year biology student. I don't comment much on RUclips, but I needed to post this comment to you. Over the past few years I have had ups and downs in my career but you have inspired me to take better notes, to find myself learning again and not memorizing concepts and having a real passion and not focusing on my grades and not being enough. I love your content and every time I watch your videos and I feel sad or broken, they encourage me to keep going. Thank you !!!! You don't know how much you mean to me.
@@debjithazra245Updating this comment, I have already graduated from my degree. Right now, I am starting a master's degree, and I continue to have a genuine interest in learning more, not for the grade but for myself.
Man this video had a different effect than anticipated! I cried to say the least😂 Your summary of yourself and the characteristics that hold you back was a copy / paste of myself. I’m your age. I had to do a detour in life (atleast in society’s sense) after school to focus on my own health. I’ve been struggling with «getting back to life» now that I’m feeling better and have struggled alot with finding what I wish to do next, and how. You are the best, man - just wanted to say THANK YOU for being so amazingly inspiring. Love what you do, your videos, your messages, really appreciate you for all you share.
At a deeper level, I finally understand why I love your videos. Like minded people recognize and appreciate the efforts behind even the finer aspects of each work. Going through a similar phase in my life and read somewhere recently, that when we think of purpose we think of great things like finding a cure for cancer.. But sometimes our purpose is as simple as a smile we gave to the stranger, which in turn made their day...and in today's world, I feel if we can genuinely care for other people and wish them the best while keeping our integrity intact, that itself is a superpower! This is so good! Came for a keynote tutorial and came across this :) I've been posting every week for about 4 years now and while it introduces some substantial challenges it definitely keeps you moving!
I would love to add on to that: I am struggling with an addictive behaviour I want to get rid of for as long as I can remember. Your video made me realize that if I spent time doing the things I actually don't want to (aka succumbing to that addiction of mine), I am "making a contribution" to a version of myself I don't want to be. So I'm adding on to that version and making it bigger and bigger, rather than building up that version of the person I actually want to be. You can also use this for very big tasks you are afraid of, bc you don't know where to start. Just 5mins every day can help, bc each 5mins are a contribution to the whole task. It's not going to feel like much, but it is a contributing at least a little bit. I find it interesting how I knew about this before, but just the use of different words, different analogies helped me get this "click" moment. I just had it, when I watched this video, thank you! Your contribution definitely already helped at least one person out there :)
i don't know why but I got super emotional by just looking at "Fine your purpose" and listening to music, just made me rethink my whole life, I had to fast forward to get straight to the point
This is simply brilliant and needed, yet almost invisible to those of us in the heat of battle. All too often I ask myself, "What's the point of all this?" Your work has reminded me of what that is. I so badly needed to be reminded of these ideals. Thanks.
Good news!!!! Very proud of you man. Your talent is immense. You would really have a million subs plus if you were posting consistently. Ultimately, you be making a substantial income as a content creator. This is your purpose. You’re a creator!
I identify so much with this video because this is exactly my situation. I project all my self doubt in the form of perfectionism. I hold myself to ridiculously high (some times impossible) standards and feel like a complete failure when I can’t rise to them. I hated my college years because between my ADD and my perfectionist tendencies I was depressed all the time and felt like I didn’t deserve any of my high school achievements. This is something that I need to get rid of because it is crippling. In my mind if I cannot complete something that meets my high standards I might as well not even try.

Stumbled across your channel with your video on Ipad overlay into your videos. Watched that one then came to your channel. Watched this video and WOW. Love the filming and message, and story telling. This is so great quality. Great Job.
Samuel, great video and subject matter man! If I may add to your list a topic for your next video... You make artistic videos with production, sound and light. How about a video showing us your RUclips video thought process? I think it can be several series and you can show us your perspective art, what equipment you think you need, how you go about the sound and audio that make them special, your script writing process. I'm sure this will inspire many of us and also open up commercial opportunity from the products you endorse. Keep it up dude...I'm enjoying the quality and the extra time you spend making creative videos. 👍🏼
My man!!! I know having this problem of perfection hinders your progress and increases the time of a project, but the quality of the project is just impeccable. Every single second of this video, Every sentence has so much meaning!!! This is probably the most life changing video of my life. Let's see if I apply the learning from this video, [I will probably start from tomorrow😄]
This was the most beautiful video you’ve done and I’ve genuinely enjoyed them all! You were authentic and genuine and it’s what we all need to hear ❤️ Good for you for figuring it out and for sharing this message for yourself and for all f us who needed to hear this.
I dont know how, but Samuel, you and I are very much alike! I mean I am just in my undergrad right now, but looking at this video, looking at you talk about how you function, made me feel like I am seeing myself, just an older version. All my friends and professors know I am a perfectionist, but I too am struggling with it. I try my best to bring in that extra effort in all my projects and presentations. I do whatever it takes at times, but the very next moment, I maybe binge watching a show on Netflix or watching some movies back to back 😂. Its the same. I didn’t know why I relate to you so much but I guess now I know why. Thank you so much for this one.
That is a really great video you made, thank you😊 I really saw myself in what you spoke about yourself with you perfectionism and your last minute doing, but you motivatet me to learn for my spanish exam even though i already gave up on it.
Hi Samuel, I want to till you that you do serve me and teach me more than one lesson, throughout your previous videos and you have reached me while Im living in Dubai. Also you open my eye to start get my work done without waiting for the moment where I feel its good to start in it. Thanks a lot for your time, your video and your motivation.:)
Samuel, thank you for making this video and for making a difference. I believe serving others with passion and compassion is our purpose. Keep inspiring others.
Hay Samuel can you please link some of your notes pdf, we all need it just as a reference to structure the notes although I am not a medical or business student but it's quite helpful Note: if you guys also want it please hit the like
I absolutely love this video. Thank you for sharing this. I can feel you. I got the same as you. I really find your video helpful. Thank you for making these videos!
Samuel - so love your transparency and your desire to serve others with consistency. Have you seen the 'wait but why' website by Tim Urban. He did a great Ted Talk ' inside the mind of a master procrastinator' - life changing.
ive been waiting for more video content for agessss and now youre telling us there will be a new video every tuesday :') great news to look forward too every tuesday!
I relate hard to this. Really hard. Graphic design taught me to be a perfectionist and it's such a bad habit to shake off. I'm starting to work on this now. The journey is difficult though

Every single second of this video, Every sentence has so much meaning!!! This is probably the most life changing video of my life. Let's see if I apply the learning from this video, [I will probably start from tomorrow😄]
Thank you Samuel, your videos are really amazing and inspiring. You make my eyes open for a good life
I can't thank you enough for this, Sam! I really like to see myself as a drowning toddler you dived into the stream to save!
Keep the videos coming! You are doing AMAZING!
This was the most beautiful video you’ve done and I’ve genuinely enjoyed them all! You were authentic and genuine and it’s what we all need to hear ❤️ Good for you for figuring it out and for sharing this message for yourself and for all f us who needed to hear this.
I don't know what's better: your brilliant content or all the beautiful comments below ...
You should get assessed for ADHD lol. I have ADHD and that's why I relate to his video. We have an "interest based nervous system"
Great monologue 👍 really inspiring
Always waiting for your notification ❤️❤️
That is a really great video you made, thank you😊
I really saw myself in what you spoke about yourself with you perfectionism and your last minute doing, but you motivatet me to learn for my spanish exam even though i already gave up on it.

That was hands down the best video I watched this year- by far. Thank you for contributing Samuel :)
I relate hard to this. Really hard. Graphic design taught me to be a perfectionist and it's such a bad habit to shake off. I'm starting to work on this now. The journey is difficult though
New subscriber here and just wanted to say thank you for this content 👍🏾, every post is top class and immensely helpful. Also this one (post) in particular really does resonate.

I think you have found your purpose and making change to other’s life
This was painfully relevant so I thank you for your honesty, this video and your help.
That was me talking, exactly as I would listen to myself, the first part of the video I mean :)
I bought the iPad to make my version of analytic so text book which helps people clear their interviews. Love your content!

If this guy has a Netflix show I will be watching it a thousand times.
Awesome stuff Samuel
Don’t let anyone convince you that you have to fight for your place under the sun.
Samuel: I don't know if my videos are good enough.
Me who makes crappy videos: Samuel, they're masterpiece!
