I am so happy we have these videos in a time where we have "coaches" on Tiktok saying you should only do fullbody workouts and always leave 3 reps in the tank. And also say you can't use a specific grip for your rows because you lose 0.47% range of motion in the lengthened position. This is just hard intelligent work. This is what people need to see.
The Ox! I remember getting a free DVD with an animal pack I bought 10 years ago with Evan on it. Was probably the first motivational bb vid I ever watched. Very awesome to see him with the mountain dog!
I did this exact leg day this morning (from one of his programs) and while I ended up in the same condition as Evan, all I was thinking is how much I love and miss John and his programs
Definitely going to try the Bulgarian split squats of death today. I like them, but have never done them like John and Evan did, and usually did them towards the end of the workout.
@@Mr.DE4THLESS No, work up for 3 sets increasing weight as you go. Last set is the drop. Highest weight x8 then 8 second hold, then same for the second weight, third weight, etc.

IMHO 'of death' is a bit much but hey, It's freakin' John 'Mountain Dog' Meadows so he can call em whatever he wants ...but how about BSS of DOOM ... yesterday after watching John's vid a couple of days ago. Love these and throw them in every few weeks. Evan describes it best ... deep, deep muscle failure. And like John, shooting for 10 but settle for 8 but often only just get to 6 before dropping the weight and doing body weight. I follow up with a leg press 'cause I/my quads and gluten feel so fried. Thanks, John. Still grinding.
Love these usually always cap leg day with these never did drops with iso but ik the feeling how deep it gets in your gluten and pushes through the whole quad
I just realized that if you take your upper body and rotate it, it basically results in the lower body: hamstrings and biceps are both two-headed...quads and triceps are analogous (shaped kinda similar and are powerhouse muscle groups)...glutes and chest are analogous and similarly shaped, as are calves and forearms.
I remember the first time I ever tried Bulgarian split squats. Man, I have never been that sore in my entire life. That was about 7 years ago. Since then, they have built so much quality muscle in my lower body it’s unreal.
Someone help me out here, for body-builders, wouldn't throwing up be the worst thing ever in terms of being able to count macros? I used to throw up when I was young doing rugby pre season but the aim there wasn't to build muscle like this

Those iso-holds are money. It makes such a big difference on leg day.

John meadows and Evan Centopani Are my two favorite bodybuilders. They are always both so level headed and humble.
