Great, great, great video Aaron! Wow so many cool trucks! Loved the intro shot with two new Pete Amreps! Both look real nice with the yellow arm. 232 was a sweet truck, sounded good for an LNG and the signboard is pretty cool too, loved how he revved it and the squeaky arm was one of my favorite things on that truck as well as the classic mack airbreaks haha! 644 was a sweet truck, I'm glad you guys were able to catch that truck, looks so good and runs pretty fast too, loved seeing the smoke pour out of it too and the airbreaks were one of best parts too! Wow! Great video Aaron probably one of your best!
Thanks Kevin! Most of GI's trucks are super fun to watch so I'm glad you enjoyed what we got! I personally love those Mack Amreps, some of the best trucks in SoCal imo!
I couldn't help but notice that this is some of the first good footage of GI in Simi Valley. Really cool to finally be able to see footage of a Mack dual-axel. I appreciated its revving and the noise the belt made as he floored it up. Reminds me of the MR Amrep Scott filmed awhile back. And man, 101644, not only a truck I didn't know GI had, but that hopper is made 1000x better just knowing a Volvo/Amrep actually used to collection 300s out of all things with it. All you need is a special effect/photo tint on one of those shots with 644 collecting an old Roto or Toter and it will send everyone back in time. Yet another successful trip for you Aaron, and your footage never disappoints me. I know I won't be able to help but re-watch this video over and over again in the future as I do with most of your other residential compilations. Keep up the fantastic work.
Haha yeah seems like most of the videos of GI's full size trucks are from Thousand Oaks, so I wanted to see what the other cities might have. Pretty satisfied with what runs in Simi. 101232 was awesome, I've been wanting to see one of those dual axles for a while and this one ran very nicely. 101644 was very satisfying and I'm very glad I got to see it collecting Rotos of all carts. Really glad you enjoy these compilations, they did well last year so I think I'm going to continue them for a little while. Thank you!
Wow you guys sure caught a lot of trucks lol. 101644 sure is unique. Sure was blowing a lot of smoke which was awesome! Great job with this one! And congrats you are one of the many people to upload a video over 10 minutes today lol.
Haha yeah, along with these, we filmed four other trucks. So a very fun, full filling day thanks to Alex. I was surprised to see how much smoke that truck blew, I haven't seen that in years. Thanks!
Great video Aaron! Really loved all the trucks, that Volvo was really the truck that was killing it ( in a good way lol) That Mack was fun to watch too hope you can get more of those. When do you think you could come to LA to film the Wittke Volvo, I would really like to see it on your channel lol. Nice job Aaron!
Thanks! Really enjoy all of GI's Octos with the way the drivers rev them. I'm hoping to try and get some footage of the Wittkes and Mack Amreps one of these Saturdays, I'd like to get some video of them on my channel as well lol
I just noticed that those newer trucks are close to the numbering of those at Compton. 104700s. Not too far from my trucks lol just as how San Diego's trucks are close to mine. Anyways that first Mack was pretty loud. Hope I can see my Mack being revved loud on bulk lol That Volvo was the best. Good to see them around still. Seems to operate ok but it seems to have better days. Also nice little clip of that second Mack. I don't know why but I like that second Mack better lol probably cause of the tag since I love tri axle trucks.
Yeah I didn't know Compton had one so that was cool that Eli discovered it. Curious if that's their only one. It probably will, I filmed one of those Wittkes on bulk and they really have to rev it to get the packer going strong. Benito operated the Volvo well, but since he doesn't usually operate it, his rev wasn't as smooth as the Mack drivers. I really enjoyed the second Mack too, I wanted to get a video of him as well since he was crazy fast but he disappeared quickly too...hopefully next time. Thanks for the comment!
i was watching this video again and if you notice the yellow on the tailgate is a little bit higher then av's original octos. i think 101328 is from G.I's yard
Yeah I saw that. I'll take a picture of 101328's log for you but if I remember correctly, it's an original AV truck. Might have just been painted at GI though
Really really awesome video Aaron. Faved for sure! All the trucks were great in this compilation. Do you know what trucks collect now in HSS? The size of that hopper is just crazy lol! Really great classic truck and GI has some of the best trucks to offer! Great job Aaron and good work as always!
Thank you! HSS has mainly new Pete Amreps with a couple Autoreaches thrown in the mix (last time I was there a Condor and Autocar Autoreach). Yeah I was very surprised! I never noticed it! Glad you enjoyed bro!
Thank you! No more footage of either Mack in this video (Alex got quite a bit of the first one though). We did film three other Mack Amreps on this day, so be on the lookout for the video!
As always, what a great video! So many old and new trucks. That Volvo reminds me of the one we have down in Tulare County that I believe we got from here 101197. Do you know if they plan to retire 644 or send it to Fresno lol? It's nice that you guys know all the drivers and they are so nice in helping you out. Are they handing out new oTTos down there as well?
Thank you! Oh wow! I just took a look at your picture of 101197 and never realized it had that exhaust! That's awesome! It's actually a former Irvine truck, the one you guys got from GI was 101013. I think they'll be retiring 101644 once GI is done with it, but you never know haha The surprising part is that we didn't know any of the drivers prior to heading out to Simi Valley, but once we got there, all of them were super nice and gave us as much information as possible! As for the Ottos, they sure are! I got some pictures of some in the City of Oak Park, and a few of the new ones could be seen in this video. Thanks again for the comment!
Some yards hire without CDL experience but it is rare to find. Not sure what state you're from but California seems to have the widest variety of positions with all the different equipment and because of that, there are more opportunities for non CDL experience.
Great work on this one! Those Peterbilts look good with the yellow arms. Cool that some of the drivers helped you guys out so much to find Benito, I know how hard it can be to find certain trucks in areas you don't know without help from drivers. What does Bentio usually drive?
Thank you! I agree, Jorge's truck looks especially nice with the clean rims. Oh yeah, we had so much help from other WM employees so it really helped. Benito is a relief driver, so he does not have a specific truck. And because he does not have a specific truck, Steve was nice enough to tell me the morning of the trip that Benito was going to be using 101644. Worked out great in the end!
G.I. Industries was a garbage company based out of Simi Valley. In 1995, they were acquired by Western Waste and soon after, Western was bought by USA Waste which then made it modern day "Waste Management"
Hey WMmaster626 my Favorite Trash man Camilo in 104720 Camilo retired Now Benito who now is driving in 104720 for Camilo Now is Driving 104720 I heard this from Miguel
Man. Over a year and this video is still very entertaining!

Thank you! No more footage of either Mack in this video (Alex got quite a bit of the first one though). We did film three other Mack Amreps on this day, so be on the lookout for the video!
+WMmaster626 Forsure thanks man
You should make a movie of G.I. Garbage Trucks
But also explaining
Explaining what?
As always, what a great video! So many old and new trucks. That Volvo reminds me of the one we have down in Tulare County that I believe we got from here 101197. Benito is the fastest driver
Who picks up trash
What cart is what... Is blue trash and grey recycle? Or is blue recycle and grey trash? Great video. Also do they have and N 3 Amreps yet?
Blue is trash and gray is recycle. No N3s yet, I don't think they're planning on getting anytime soon either. Thanks!
WMmaster626 can you make videos of Waste Management G.I.s 104724 of Eddie who does drive 104724?
Sure if I see him out there next time, I'll grab some clips for you
WMmaster626 thanks
If possible could you film some automizer, or ZR trucks.
Sure thing, I'll try to get some ZRs within a few months. I filmed some Automizers last year in Oceanside if you want to check that out.
+WMmaster626 awesome I'll look forward to it
I want to work for them but they want experience. how do i get it if nobody is willing to hire new grads?
What position are you looking into?
WMmaster626 driver but don't have any cdl driving experience
Some yards hire without CDL experience but it is rare to find. Not sure what state you're from but California seems to have the widest variety of positions with all the different equipment and because of that, there are more opportunities for non CDL experience.
WMmaster626 okay but how can I get the experience then? all the people driving now didn't have experience either so its just frustrating
Usually most guys come from smaller garbage companies who don't require experience or UPS/Fedex
Could you make a video
Of 104724 G.I. Truck
And 104720 G.I. Truck.
Eddie drives 104724
Benito Drives 104720
Yeah man if I see them out there, I'll try to grab some video for you.
I like your G.I. Videos
Great work on this one! Those Peterbilts look good with the yellow arms. Cool that some of the drivers helped you guys out so much to find Benito, I know how hard it can be to find certain trucks in areas you don't know without help from drivers. What does Bentio usually drive?

WMmaster what's G.I industries
G.I. Industries was a garbage company based out of Simi Valley. In 1995, they were acquired by Western Waste and soon after, Western was bought by USA Waste which then made it modern day "Waste Management"
