The credits are so sad and creepy. The villagers were once just happy, peaceful people. Then Saddler showed up and turned them into mindless killers...
good clue
Salazar, the 8th Castellan then became part of his cult
so true I think a company is the one who cause this probably came and start to brain washed people and making experiment at people
@@badreedinedjellali1328 There was no company. Saddler was a megalomaniac lunatic who acted on his own accord.
@@badreedinedjellali1328 it was that ancient plaga they dug up
Seeing all the faces of the people you killed actually smiling and doing nice things. That is the real horror of this game. Seeing them become what they were.
I love this ending.. it automatically removes ALL the glory power trip you had so far and makes you feel like not a good guy anymore..
I know what you mean.
And it's really sad at the same time...They were simple people, just living their life!
Supersnow is good village 😔
Supersnow I thought The same thing. :( IT'S SO SAD
this is truly the most horrifying moment of the whole game. it's impecable.
Right!!!!
For me its sad, it makes me feel bad for all those people.
The worst thing is that the Ganados keep their pre infection intelligence which means that unlike the zombies who are already brain dead when you kill them, those poor people are still themselves and alive when they turn into Ganados they just can't control their actions anymore because of the parasite that takes over their mind.
@@thestrong2401 that's what makes it awful there aware of the horrible things there doing but can't control themselves :(
これはWHOがAfricaで行った事と同じである。
From the Resident Evil Wiki:
"Losing their ability to feel emotions, some parents gave blank expressions when their children started to die - with the Plagas unable to gain control over the children's nervous systems, they began to experience painful fits before dying with a disfigured look on their faces (caused by their nervous system's poor control over muscles)."

0:58 this really hits me, I think this is the first guy you kill, he's just entertaining the children, how sweet, how peaceful.
I wonder what happened to the woman at the top left corner.. It could be that its the guy's wife. I feel bad for her and the children also.
@@Ajay-dy3xw what if she is the woman who is killed at one cabin before you enter the village? she was stabbed in the head with some tool I think, you find her body stabbed into a wall.
These theories are too scary to not be accurate... hhh

So sad
that song... those scenes... My father would be from 12:00 till 4 a.m playing RE4 once he had finished he would straight away start the game all again. When we heard about RE6 and that Leon would be there he got so damn happy. We bough RE4 again for WII. He bought the DVD from Degeneration. lets say he kinda was a Leon Fanboy... saddly.. 2012 my father passed away. way before RE6 actually came out... Since then, RE4 and specially Leon (the character himself) makes me want to cry. And that song just did it... Made me cry.
Leon S. Kennedy...
NathTF 96 Sorry my man ! Upmost respect
Connorados Thank you! Is a recent pain no matter how many years pass. RE4 forever in my heart. :')
Yeah man i understand!
NathTF 96 same with me, but with my grandma. When i tried to play the first time, (i was kid) i cried, cause i died for Dr. Salvador. When she saw me crying, said i should try again, again and again. Then i tried and i did it... So, i dont know why, but always when i see her photos, i came here, listen to this beatiful song.
Marcos Alvarenga that is so beautiful :') Never thought such a bloody game would bring such good memories...
These credits are one of the saddest things that I've ever seen. Saddler can burn in hell for infecting those innocent people to further his own agenda. I can honestly say that I view him worse than Wesker.
Because Wesker is at least entertaining and insanely cool despite being an egomaniacal psychopath. Saddler has none of that. Just a detached, evil and sick man, no different than James Marcus from 0
Because releasing the T-Virus is so much better, right?
Saddler just wanted to rule the world and control everyone. Wesker wanted to merge everyone into a giant tentacle monster and was responsible for a lot more evil shit in the series. I'd say Wesker is far worse.
TheIrland09 i think the two are very bad :/
Cris P. Bacon Well saddler is more disturbing and powerful than wesker (without the uroburos)
Best credits i have ever seen in a video game
I couldn't agree with you more. I'm not sure how, but these credits made me feel so much in such a short amount of time. The music and just a few still images shows how an innocent village was torn apart by one man's greed and lust for power. Just need a few images and a good song, we can fill in the rest. One of the best examples of show don't tell, and the fact that it's shown after Leon basically killed all of these people solo hits like a tank. I hope explaining it doesn't ruin it a little, but I can't help wanting to express my thoughts on it somehow.
and also best series
RE3's Credits is better
Seen or heard? Demon's Souls had the best credits in my opinion.
The concept art and the music makes it better
1:14 the way it transitions from peaceful and quiet in the village to horror and tragedy is just... amazing story telling without saying a word. Just art pieces and the sound of music.
This is a lot more disturbing than the Baker family story.
Dylan Dixon someone said it. Thank you
Dylan Dixon duh theres just a family and these innocent people turn into monsters in the whole village
Sorry for my grammar
It gets disturbing when you play as Zoey and you see how her family gets infected. :\
I feel like there’s some fanboy stuff going on here but I kinda agree but mostly because it’s on a larger scale
even this ending give me the creeps...
One of the most depressing end credits I have seen. A peaceful society all now dead. Let alone extinct. Its really sad.
extinct? the shopkeeper is still there....
@@fightingforce8498 he half infected
@fighting force I don't think the Merchant is one of them though. He sounds like he comes from Australia and not a Spaniard.
Luis Sera is the lone survivor of this event
@@michaelgallardo5778 He died in both the original and the remake. At least he tried to make amends for his mistakes, knowing the guilt and the damages of the Plaga and his involvement with the Los Iluminados cult.
demn how fast this ending changed my mood from 10 to 0 first time i saw it. It still depresses me.
init back in 2005 when i first played re4. i was so happy because i killed sladdler but then these credits came on and i was so depressed.
It's really impactful. It was a good desiscion to show this in the end and not in the beginning.
I almost cried at the ending.
the music and art conveys so much sadness showing how one guy invaded something peaceful and turned it upside down by taking advantage of the vulnerable. to make things worse, Leon did his job but at the cost of innocent lives who unfortunately got taken advantage of..
To see the first gando you killed to play on His guitar for the children is heartbreaking
When Leon arrived at the village, everyone was already gone. At this point, Leon did nothing but the right thing to put them out of their misery. Thankfully, no innocent blood on his hands.
But nevertheless, it's incredibly sad that they were all just normal people living their lives. No wonder Leon started drinking in RE6. Maybe he didn't give much thought about this whole situation while he was on a mission and busy fighting for his and Ashley's life, but once he got home and got to really think about all this, it probably hit him hard...
Same...I cried a lot when the music start.
@@velocilevonYeah this was probably him unearthing files on the Ganado Village and outright becoming depressed
who else felt bad for the villagers ?
May Intatano , Me i wanna crh at this ending
it's not just saddler's fault it's also salazar's fault as well since he was the one who gave saddler access to mine's where the parasites are sealed.
that his ancestor's sealed in the first place. and he just gave it to the maniacal cultist, to atone for their families sin?
Me too. They were peaceful, friendly and hard-working people. They would do their daily routine with fresh produce, animals, casual (monotonic, but definitely necessary) field work, they would have family breakfasts/dinners/suppers together, children, adults and elders lived in a peaceful and close-tied community, and of course, at the end of the day adults wouldn't mind to entertain children with fine songs accompanied with a guitar. After that, everything went downhill. Bad people started showing up around, Osmund Saddler recruited adults to join "them", they received parasite injections, people started to change for worse, those who were affected by the parasite killed the elders and children (or they were injected with the parasite too, but their bodies were too weak to stomach the parasite and they just died), then the first "red signs" of evil started showing up. Oh man, this is so fucking sad, I can't even... Let me put it down like this - you don't even need fancy-ass pre-history cutscenes or DLCs in order to know what happened to everybody. I rate this game 11/10.
psydeffex even thought salazar was an asshole, he was manipulated by saddler. salazar was young, he lived alone and thus it was probably very easy for saddler to lure him into his plan of freeing las plagas under the lie that "what the salazar family did was a sin".
@@ashwolf2006 At least we killed them son of a bitches. They deserved to die and I felt like I avenged those poor villagers.
Damn, after so many years of killing the villagers over and over and completing the game many times I realize that I feel bad, that they are still innocent people deep down without the parasite.
It's likely the army was brought in to exterminate all the remaining villagers after Leon left though, so the village most likely became a ghost town.
TheIrland09 a Anyways, it was like giving them justice, since they were not themselves anymore.
So is almost everyone you kill in zombie games
After the Parasite fully matures the host pretty much becomes a blanket for what lies beneath. Theres no more human, just a parasite on two legs. I felt terrible as well seeing the end credits. But i feel a little better knowing that the Ganados i killed were "set free" in a way.
@@magnusm4
Well, except zombies are literally just walking corpses. Las Plaga infected were still feeling pain and they might even still retain something of a consciousness (seeing as how they read books and carry out their lives somewhat). A zombie feels nothing. It's a shell without a conscience. Being controlled by a parasite is much worse.
So I don't feel as sad when I kill zombies.
For those who don't know much yet, these pictures are actually drawn from the point of view of a villager called Rodrigo, one of the first to become converted, and the girl lying dead on the chair is his daughter.
That's something you gotta give credit to the RE franchise, from the notes/diaries you'd read of people who became zombies in RE1, to William Burkin's tragic flashback in RE2, Lisa Trevor in RE1 REmake, these end credits here in RE4, and finding out the truth about "the family" in RE7 and who the real villain was, Capcom always did a great job of making you sympathize with the very enemies you'd have to kill in order to survive.
This ending is so brilliant, not only to show the horrors Saddler put on these poor folks, but putting faces to the monsters you put down in half the game.
From games files and these credits we know the story behind RE 4:
El Pueblo is a rural village located in a remote area of Spain. The villagers were simple but peaceful people who rarely left their village.
However the village was also once home of the cult known as Los Illuminados who used a parasite called Las Plagas to control their enemies minds. But the illuminados were in the end defeated, the plagas were locked in the Salazar's castle and most of the Illuminados killed by the Salazar's family.
Many centuries later one of the descendant of the cult, Osmund Saddler convinced one of the descendant of the Salazar family, Ramon that his illness (nanism and oldery appearance) was caused by the sins his ancestors made against the Illuminados. To make amend for his ancestor's "sins", Ramon Salazar decided to join the Illuminados and payed some of the El Pueblo's villagers to retrieve the fossiles Las Plagas from his castle's underground just like Saddler wanted.
Inhaling the spores emitted from the Plagas fossiles each day, some villagers that worked for Salazar started to turn into Ganados. From their body the Illuminados took samples of the parasites. With the help of the village chief Bitores Mendez who was also corrupted into joining the Illuminados and was given a dominant Plaga. With his help, Saddler convinced the other villagers that there was a virus contracted in that area that needed to be healed with a vaccine.
Instead the Illuminados injected them all with eggs of Las Plagas. And that's how everyone in El Pueblo started to turn into Ganados who killed their children since their basic instinct is to kill every non infected and children could not be infected with las plagas because of their little bodies. Then the Ganados, killers without free will, were controlled by Saddler and his men thanks to their dominant Plagas and were forced to join the Los Illuminados' cult.
Very good. Thanks
Kagereneko el Pueblo means “The village” in Spanish not the town
Mr. Pepe It also can mean the town. I speak Spanish. “¡Vamos al pueblo!” = “Let’s go to town.”

I feel bad for the villager. They have children, then they kill it. Because of Saddler!!!!
I AGREE
FuranDuron because their bodies couldn't support the plaga
@@Enzo_FRZ134 that's probably how the were killed even if they wanted to infect the children the plaga probably kills children either way
T_ man Actually in RE5 you find a Journal entry from a Tribal teenager he explains how the children were dying after the plagas was given to the whole village
Dont worry. Saddler got his. And remaining villagers of people of Spain could rebuild such horrors

Resident evil 4 will always be the best resident evil game
Yup, its the game of the year of 2005 for a reason
A real RE fan would never say that. Don't get me wrong, i like RE4, but as completely different game, not as a Resident Evil.
+niko97- Please tell me what a "Real" RE fan is because what you said is nonsense. A so called "real" fan would like what ever game in the series he likes.
+Expands Juan Simple, the fans of the REs that were real survival horror games, with zombies and a good plot (we need to say it, a plot involving a XIX century village, a castle and an island full of religious fanatics with only one, single agent to retrieve the president's daughter when they should send an entire battalion, is kind of dumb).
RE1, RE Remake, 2, 3, Code Veronica X, RE Outbreak file 1 and 2. That are the real REs for somebody who has a minimum knowledge of the real and original spirit of the series (forgive me if i forget some game).
Like i said. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE RE4, but as a game of a completely different series.
The majority of the fans agree on the fact that with RE4 (even when this game was AWESOME) the series started a process of degeneration, where a survival horror series turned into a mere shooter, into a COD with zombies (RE6 fixs perfectly with this definition).
RE4 is not a real RE for me.
Finally, i respect those who think RE4 is the best RE. This is just my opinion of the matter.
+Niko97- you basically said the same thing again. "real survival horror". Shits subjective. Theres so many different horror games that are different. Silent hill, Outlast, Re, AITD. That tbere cant really be a "True horror game."
And if youre talking about what game is a "real game" in a franchise then again that isnt a thing. If it's an RE title then its a "real" re title. The devs intended it to be an RE game so its an RE game. no matter any differences. Look at MGSV compared to MGS 4.
There are some pretty big differences gameplay wise (Story progression not being linear, Loadouts before missions, regenerating life, having missions as opposed to a linear path through the game and so on) noone considers that "not real" mgs title despite its major flaws.
The thing is things change and there will be big changes if a series has gone on for as long as RE has.
I know that this is pretty much subjective but the notion that RE4 isnt a real title because it has its differences is a fairly silly one to have. It might not be the same as the previous games in the series but it is an RE game nonetheless
Also RE4 could have been far different. www.residentevil.wikia.com/wiki/BIOHAZRD_4_(cancelled_2000_game)
This game is so goofy and over-the-top all the way through and then it hits you with this.
the remake is goofy too.
Yeah that makes Leon saying all his goofy lines to Saddler kind of awkward, but atleast it went serious in the end and he killed that scum.
Is it bad that Resident Evil 4's ending credits is more scarier than both 5 and 6?
Unfortunate truth D:
RE4's credits has more story&survival horror than RE4,5&6 combined.
+Cain Fiend - Why?
Take a real good look at the images added with the eerie, sorrow music.
It tales a horrifying tale of a nice village that was plagued with corrupt people.

The Credits: 💀
This game is simply above and beyond anything that could possibly be created ever again. Period.
Came here after re8 end credit scene which reminds me of this credits
I wanted to cry when I saw this. You can see clearly, that they were good people, working together.
The most heartbreaking parts:
The man, playing guitar and people around him enjoying it and if you look closely, is the first house in the game. The man that is playing the guitar, should be the first that Leon killed. In another, a child dead in a chair and there is a woman, standing beside him without paying attention to him, so she killed him and is horrible, when they are being forced. The children, couldn't handle The Plaga but the Villagers lose control, so maybe they killed some of them.
I kind of feel bad for Salazar too and let's not forget about the other creatures, priests and pilgrims. Except Del Lago, all of them were human but this pictures in particular, always makes me want to cry.
Most creepy part: 1:46 The woman behind that man, is seeing that something is wrong but she couldn't figured it out. What if the first woman that we saw murderer, is the woman standing beside the man playing guitar?... it gives me chills because the place where she is hanging dead, is almost next to that house and maybe, she was his wife.
Feeling bad for Salazar? He alongside Saddler started this Shit! Mendez was corrupted later! Im glad Leon killed all 3 of them all 3 of them are one of the most evil Villains in the Series in my Opinion!

The End Credits of the remake version doesn't convey what it means, but this one conveys it clearly.
Comeback here after completing re village credits
I honestly love the credits. The whole game is a big and dumb and you're action hero Leon just killing everything and saving the president's daughter with quipy one liners. The game ends with a happily ever after all things considered, all feel good, and then the credits start rolling. It is surprisingly effective to make you backtrack a bit and realize despite everything, what happened here was a tragedy and the human faces behind the countless enemies you've been killing the whole game. It's a great U-turn from the rest of the ending and game, and I think is an excellent note to end what's admittedly a pretty dumb (but fun) game on.
How is that dumb? All resident evil was, was killing zombies ROFL
It's a mercy killing. I never once felt bad about it. It's like putting down a rabid dog
@@tylerhansen931 you have to consider that the infected might have still some of the humans they once were inside them. Like Jill says in RE 5, she couldn't control her action but she was aware of what she was doing the whole time. If it was the same for the Ganados then it must have been a nightmare for them...
@@thestrong2401 the difference here is that Jill was still human but was mind controlled by the scarab. the ganados were nothing more than puppets to Las plagas, as they were all under the thrall of saddler. putting them out of their misery was the only humane option left. Leon and Ashley were lucky they killed their parasites in time before it grew up.
@@conrad6136 the parasites used to control their actions but their brain still worked, in fact they kept their human intelligence and were even able to talk just like jill, they weren't mindless monsters like the zombies or other creatures. So who knows if you're right or not...
This credit alone is scary than the whole game itself.
The theme song and old photos is even horrific than whole re7 and this tells all the story how a peaceful village turn into graveyard
2:03 Imagine if this music will be used in remake then Krauser will blame Leon for killing villagers.
Krauser: "You think I am monster now? Look at yourself! How many villagers did you kill? Lost count huh?"
Leon: "I.."
Oh wow that's a hard blow to the player to make them feel guilty.
Came here from seeing the Resident Evil: Village credits
1:55 This guy has his head dangling to the side while the plaga is out. Holy hell
That must be what inspired the Desnucado ganados in the remake.
And then you realize that you killed the very nicest people.
very eerie. the remake is not as good. still very good but not as good as the original
After playing the RE4 Remake and then going back and rewatching the original end credits I noticed that the last image at 1:53 is what we see of the first ganado and others in the remake with their heads dangling and the plaga still being able to control the body.
Probably the darkest end credits in video game history.
I remember the very first time I ever played and completed RE4 on my GCN. No moment in the game itself came close to the sheer amount of horror and sadness I felt seeing this credit scene.
I wish they'd have given us a prequel instead of a remake
I just realized that the way the plaga bursts from the enemies' necks in the remake is like the illustration at 1:52
Had to come back her after finishing RE: Village. Couldn't stop thinking about this game the entire time playing RE8.
Same here
The difference between the zombies and the ganados is that the ganados still try to live somewhat of a normal life. It’s just now a society of rage fueled bug people.
Have you ever stopped to think that there are no children in the game, but the credits show them... where are the children????
they killed them in the lore
@@ripzonar1542 nope
The lore said that they couldn't handle the plaga and died all
Jesus, Saddler is the real monster
Resident Evil 4 remake ending scene is not as emotional...
This is my favorite credit's of any game
this credit scene alone
Truly has changed my perpsective 180° after finishing it!
This is so damn creepy because they change the theme from happy serendipity to looming doom. Just look at the suggestive malice in this man's face at 1:43
The villagers started out as ordinary everyday life folks, until Saddler came and corrupted them with Las Plagas.
God help those villagers.
I love how re8 did the same thing for it's credits
flashback from 10 years ago, just remembering my mother that played since the beginning saying "look at them, that saddler is mean" and stuff like that, there it was me, with 8 years old glimpsed with this ending, everytime i see this, tears just drop all the way
Wow watching this brings a tear to my eye...so many memories of playing this on the Wii and for it to be remade is heart wrenching...one of the best videos games I’ve ever played and it was such a big part of my childhood.
A reminder that all those villagers you killed were innocent people.
When I first saw these credits, it was the most terrifying and saddest thing I could see, because once upon a time the cattle were calm people who lived happily no matter what until saddler arrived. Without a doubt, it is one of the saddest and most terrifying video game credits out there.
Wonder in the remke we'll see flashbacks on what happened. Gonna be heartbreaking and horrifying.
What a tragic death to the villagers and children.
I’m sorry, but this will be more far superior than the remake one. This scared me when I first watched this.
I just played og re4 now and this credit scene hit me like a truck at the end, in contrast to the somewhat goofy aspect to this game, this credit scene shows how tragic the villages story was. And you as the player dont really have this in mind but only later, at least in my case. This literally gave me goosebumps when i watched it.
This was the last Resident Evil where the credits made me tear up; seeing the story play out in the end credits with the music actually made me feel something. Resident Evil 5 didn't make me feel bad for the people I'd killed; they were just nothing but targets to me at the end of the game. This was truly the greatest modern Resident Evil.
