The story predicted ethan’s fate

Indeed.
That's why I like it love creepy animations

he isnt death
The way Ethan said goodbye to his daughter broke my heart, but he stood tall until the very end. Other RE protagonists are greatness, but Ethan's sacrifice will always be legendary.
Same my heart shattered into pieces
Totally agree
Indeed, it's crazy because in RE7, Ethan was nothing special compared to characters like Jill, Chris, Leon or Claire. RE8 really improved Ethan in a lot of ways, I'm very pleased with this sequel ! And here I thought the series could never be as great as the original trilogy back in RE5/RE6 days.
What I love about Ethan Is unlike the rest of the RE cast he actually has something to loose. Chris, Leon, Jill, Rebecca, Claire & Ada sure they bring down the BOWS at the end of the day but there's no sense of Urgency or If there gonna die because there obviously not. With Ethan anything can happen with this guy which makes him more interesting than all the roster and his story is more personal, just a man trying to bring his family together again.

watching how the villagers got infected while in the middle of pandemic gives me anxiety
That'll be the best way to introduce chimeras
You should watch RE 4 post credit it tell the story of villager before Sadler turn them into mindless Ganados it was so sad
Shit, when do I get my abilities and find out my Cadou affinity?
same ... especially when the father looked at her poor daughter
At least the "vaccinations" show that the werewolves aren't infectious. Imagine having virulent Chad werewolves in an urban environment. Simply haunting.......
That image of the father fighting the witch with a torch is so triumphant and heroic its actually tear-jerking.

They all fit but Beneviento being the spider character felt off. Wonder why they chose that specifically for her
I really loved the soundtracks, but the credits is just brilliant. Really emotional. The sacrifice that Ethan has made makes it even more sad. Really loved this game
Agreed! I was pretty moved by the ending already, then this started playing. Damn. So good.
The one part I hated was the Baby fetus part
@@miimiibeschde4818 i finally got to playing RE8 and the beneviento house is the scariest part of the game, the giant baby fetus, everything about that part was terrifying
Those monsters are the lords/bosses that Ethan fights chronologicaly.
Also, loved the details. Before meeting the Bat Lord (Dimitrescu), there were three baby Bats too, representing her daughters. Also, the Iron Steed was the only one who didn't give the girl anything like the others did. Shows how different Heisenberg was from the other three. Also even though he's my favorite, I was still expecting him to be a Werewolf, who lived in the factory with his wolf minions while practicing his engineering skills. In the end, he would go insane and become a grotesque being too. The machine theme was more than I expected.
@@apoorvanand9627 About Heisenberg kinda. His refusal to give the golden gear - a reference to a unicorn's horn and thus the good it represents, which he wanted to do by defeating Miranda, was because otherwise the girl (Rose) would further go in the forest and meet the Megamycete and hence never be found by her parents on time.
Btw, on the insignias, he is opposite to Dimitrescu which is once again symbolic because he hates her and she's most loyal to Miranda. Also because the Unicorn his Horse represents is a symbol of good and hope and Alcina is the vampire, a symbol of evil
@@YourEmperorStef he was somewhat good or atleast less demented than Miranda's other three minions. Also, what was the big problem with using Rose against Miranda? If there was, then what was the problem with working with Heisenberg till she was found? Ethan was really dumb there.
Ethan fought against Heisenberg because he knew Karl wouldn't let go of Rose after they won, and even if they had joined forces, there was still no way of knowing what kind of long term effects it would've had on Rose. Ethan was being a good father and not taking any chances.
@@apoorvanand9627 heisenberg was gonna use rose as a weapon for his personal issues with Miranda and ethan did not give a fuck about heisenberg and did not want his daughter to be used as a weapon
And that’s why people praised miranda and even prayed to her because they thought she could heal anything, but little did they know …
Life took more that it give. Yah i see now
They turned into smart zombies instead
And I'm guessing people like that little girl who the parasite didn't reject became her followers or were like the four lords.
All that remained were despair, and a future of meaningless tommorows for those poor villiagers.
Ethan said "I owe you one" to the Duke. So, he's not done yet. Facts.
Dutch will probably resurrect him himself, just for that favour alone, I would, can't get away that easily, that is if he is dead, which I have a very high suspicion he isn't.
@@gatis3395 He was in the background during the end credit scene when Rose and the agent got in the car. Like he was just walking. With a head this time.
Idk man I feel like he'll be controlled and Rose will be forced to kill him. And I don't want that
and little nightmares
i will probably buy a 90 dollar game just to play as ethan again
The end credits story basically tells the story of people arriving and the birth of the village, and the start of the caduo parasite and experimentation. This story is told through a small family, mainly the daughter ( tiny girl with white hair). A group of people traveled through the wilderness and eventually settled down in where the village is. Eventually a mother gave birth to a daughter with the company of her husband, all seemed well. One day, the Spanish Flu started an outbreak, the mother became ill and passed on her deathbed, only leaving her husband and daughter behind. When the father and daughter one day arrived to bury her, the daughter also caught the disease, the father, desperate to cure his daughter went with a crowd of villagers to the supposed " plague doctor" in the village ( Mother Miranda). In turn she cured his daughter and saved her from dying the same way as her mother. This made the villagers trust the plague doctor and went to her for vaccines or medical help, unknown to them, she was experimenting on them behind the scenes, inserting the cadou parasite in them. The father became sick and starting acting abnormal much to the worry of his young daughter, one night the girl came out to find her father right outside their home, curious she crept closer, but she made a terrifying discovery. Her Father was eating the corpse of a fellow villager, that wasn't the girls father anymore, it was a Lycan, most likely one of the first. It is unknown what happened to the girl afterwards but she was most likely eaten by her former father. This started the mold infestation and caduo experiments, where villagers would be kidnapped by the plague doctor Mother Miranda and given to one of the four lords to be experimented on, if they failed and became Lycans, they were released in the village to feed off the livestock at times and eventually the villagers as well. It was too late when the villagers realized their enemy, because most were already infected, and soon the others dropped like flies, by the time Ethan arrived there were only a few survivors, and they all died during the fire, either burned or eaten by Elena's Lycan father.
Someone else in the comments had another theory about the mother and daughter and it seemed more convincing. Rather than an accident, they may have suffered a genetic disorder which would cause a rare but deadly illness. It's more likely than both the mom and daughter suffering freak injuries one after the other.
And at some point you're just making shit up. We do not know whether or not the little girl made it out alive, and the dad was clearly not eating the mom's corpse. The mother was buried in a cemetary, and he was eating flesh in the forest.
@@professionalprocrastinator8103
Great point.
@@professionalprocrastinator8103 for the little girl surviving I knew there could have been a chance she lived but knowing the Lycan creatures she would probably be killed immediately so I wrote that it was most likely she died, yes I did made up some parts to have the story a bit more interesting, but I like your side and the points you made.
could be the Spanish flu as well.
Its almost the same credits story from re4
As fearless in death as he was in life. Goodbye ethan the first everyman protagonist in resident evil who had as much balls as harry mason from silent hill. Just a man determined to save those he loved no matter the costs or horrors he faced
Dude... I thought I was the only one who noticed the parallels to Silent Hill 1 and 3 between Ethan Winters and Harry Mason. And Cheryl/Heather and Evelyn/Rose...
I am so glad that others noticed as well.
@@danhair the whole beneviento section screamed Silent Hill as well
I can say that i can compare ethan with sebastian castellanos from the evil within 2 since both games have a similar plot
I would not be so sure Ethan is actually dead
It was made clear that he has been part of the Megamycete every since the start of RE7 (and we have occasionally seen signs of this such as his hand working again after being cut off with a chainsaw in re7 and by lady Dimitrescu in re8)
Only problem: Ethan blew the Megamycete to Hell.
I love how they put classic turn around at 8:35 from the very first Resident Evil but with a werewolf instead of a zombie
i remember that classic zombie turn around image....gave me nightmares as a kid
Good eye! I didn‘t even notice that but it‘s a great callback.

Best RE yet.
@@ozenthelewdable5427 also what surpirses me is that Miranda and Mia Winters once worked together during the creation of Eveline.
@@iloveindomienoodle It seemed like Miranda was quite active with the Connections. She had her theatrical tropish life within the village and the life of a professional outside of that.
@@4dhumaninstrumentality789 a professional manic immortal.
Honestly, i first thought that the picture of Miranda wearing lab coats was her back at the 1910s or something because it's in black and white. Turns out, it was photographed at fuckin 2014.

I deadass cried. So... I guess Ethan winters is my papi😳🦆
I cried a lot
Low key? Try HIGH KEY!!!! I WAS HIGH KEY UPSET ABOUT IT!!!!! still am😥
Low key? I was devastated. I can't get over it.
I think we all know why Ethan dislikes that fairytale, even at the start of the game. Also, despite the fact that Miranda crumbles like the other molded when defeated, she still comes back (As evident by the Miranda Berserk form in the figures section) which implies even a crumbled monster can come back, so I still have faith in Ethan, just might take him a couple decades to regenerate.
It's also entirely likely that figure is a spoiler of what's to come on the hardest difficulty version of her fight. Just going off of RE3 last year, they aren't afraid to dramatically amp the final boss in some way to mess with completionists
Going by that logic, the Bakers could still easily return
@@awesomedude2556 Jack does return in the DLC for RE7, it's another instance of what I said
@@JesseAnderson They just make the fight last longer and shes capable of 1 shotting you.
I feel its more of a miscommunication between departments. miranda obviously calcified, and the massive being was clearly the megamycete attempting to defend itself.
It’s a shame for the daughter who watched her father transform into a Lycan. He probably killed her as well...
A very chilling visual tale of how Miranda's Lycan fallout started.
A bit like the one from 4 but even more scary looking.
Umm that's storybook about the father transforming is lady Dematress story u realize, the was a sickness happening but it's respecting her blood disease not the sickness witch her mother had the same blood disease, thinking it was a cure all after little Dematress got well had more people take it and get infected. The plague doctor was mother maranda.
@@lonawest6585 and you realise dimitrescu was 44 when she met Mother Miranda. There’s a book on a table where you find Mia when playing as Chris that tells you. She also already lived in the castle as her parents were of nobility so after they passed she inherited it. The storybook shows a little girl living in the village which Dimitrescu never had any connection with (as in never living in the village)
@Feras N me too, i was preparing mentally for that image but when the symbol appeared I imagined how the Father (now lycan and probably one of the first) ate his daughter.
I'm surprised no one in here is mentioning that the credits seem to be a callback to RE4's credits. RE8 takes an INSANE amount of inspiration from RE4, it's actually crazy.
I thought I was the only one who noticed that. RE8 is heavily inspired by RE4. Every now and then when I find something new in the game I scream “ITS LIKE RE4!”
The end-credit really made me cry, not because the father and daughter story only but because it reminded me of my childhood when I finally beaten RE4 alone in a dark room, Scared at 3AM, and I was 7 years old. That game really was the spark that ignited the Hardcore Resident Evil fan inside of me.
@@osamhxgamer3760 Especially with the Dukes reference to his other friend who says "Whata ya buyin" I instantly recognised who he was speaking about
Almost the same credits
It’s obvious this was intentional. RE7 played more like the original trilogy and Village plays like the second trilogy with even heavy visual aesthetics from 4. I imagine this is why they went ahead and decided to REmake 4.
@@4dhumaninstrumentality789 Yeah I appreciated that they managed to pay homage to their own game better than any other game that tried to recreate the 'cabin scene' and- wait they are remaking 4
Spencer and his search of progenitor virus, damn man ,this old guy was sick.
I’m still so sad that Ethan and Mia never got to properly say goodbye to each other. They both more or less went through the whole game under the assumption the other was dead. Then they both got the information that they were alive and they never even got to speak to each other.
After all they went through together in 7/8, he deserved to say goodbye to the woman he changed the direction of his entire life for.
Poor Mia.
Yeah, Ethan didn't even know when he saw her last time
I'd be happy if in the Shadows of Rose DLC, Ethan gets to say goodbye to Mia and Rose properly. Like, Rose finally 'closing the door' of the megamycete's connected conciousness, so to speak.
Can't wait.
@@DiestroCorleone I imagine that's exactly what's going to happen. While he's dead, Ethan's consciousness was definitely catalogued into the megamycete. And Rose is going into that hive mind during the DLC. Whether or not Mia will play any role at all is up in the air, but Ethan's definitely going to make an appearance, guarantee it. We may even FINALLY get to see his face, which is why Capcom's been so adamant in hiding it, because they're saving it for the big reveal at the end (even though we all know what he looks like LOL)
@@animatedink2529 xD Nice try, Capcom, I guess.
It's been more than 20 years and Chris still has to deal with umbrella. To bad Ethan and his family got involved.

Rose is rapidly aging much like Eveline.
The BSAA agent called her Eveline jokingly then when the agents asked if they needed to shoot her with their sniper.
he said "Don't worry about it, she's just a kid..."
Rose also has the megamycete catalogued within her, so she has access to all memories of Miranda, Ethan, and everything that happened.
Chris is aged 67

Pretty cool how the tale is allegory to Ethan's adventures, and how each "King" is one of the Lords.
Also Miranda acting as a "saviour" when she was a plague doctor in the village, reminds me alot of Alex. Quite ironic considering Miranda is "immortal" and don't age, while Alex searched for immortality but not in it's literal sense.
And thank God, Ozwell E. Spencer was such an egomaniac that he chose to stick with viruses such as the Progenitor. . . Or else we would've seen an Umbrella Corp with no more need for the Wesker Children. . . .
And a very young-looking Ozwell E. Spencer.
@@Silverblade416 the Wesker children was a terrible idea in the series, gave us Neo in RE5.
Honestly this is more like RE4 where the end credits show the village before Saddler arrived and how it was a peaceful community but when he arrived and injected the villagers with Las plagas you see how the village changed as they turned to monsters and killed their own children
They did the same kind of end credits as RE4.
Showing a happy village, then a sudden savior gives them an injection and slowly the village falls apart. Except here there's a plague rather than just blindly getting injected for no reason and you don't see the village destroyed, just her father turned.
But who was the girl and what happened to her?
Ethan is now my favorite RE protagonist:(
me too
Yeah me too. His character is the reason why I got into Resident Evil.
Same here. Sorry Jill, you're number 2 now.
Rip Ethan man dealt with so much bullshit and man handled it for his family a legendary character
It's kinda fun to think that the Mother character that saved the baby was actually Chris of all people in the actual game's story context rather than Mia
Protect the Redfield lineage!
Ethan and Chris have some explaining to do
What you don't know is when he said, "Sorry Mia. I love you," the 'you' he was talking to was Chris. 'Sorry honey, I'm gay.' What a king.
...I'm being facetious. Probably.
Chris is still the hero we love since 1996 💐❤
The story of the village degeneration reminds me the story of the village in RE4.
Everything is a RE4 Reference.

This game was such a love letter to not only fans but to RE4, the amount of RE4 references is amazing with the village survival fight to grabbing the shotgun in the beginning to the end credits telling the story of how a normal village was turned upside down by some evil outsider.
gotta honor the best game in the franchise.
@@amerlad It's not. RE1 Remake is still the best proper Resident Evil game.
A bit late to this, but if you're referring to Miranda, I don't think she was an outsider. If you read her notes, it seems that she actually lived in the village where the game took place over a hundred years ago. More evidence of this is that her daughter Eva was buried in the cemetary in the village; you can find her headstone there in front of a tree. Everything else though, I totally agree! That's part of why I love this game so much.
Yeah after completing re4 after beating re village this game is basically a modern version of re4, form the plot to the virus and characters-everything is rlly similar to re4
The storybook at the end showed a once happy family that was torn apart when the Spanish flu struck the village, killing many. The flu killed the mother and later infected the daughter. The father and the rest of the village tried to save their loved ones by going to a plague doctor who cured them with a shot. Little did they know, it was the parasitic cadou.
The rest is history
I just realized the picture book showing the infection of the villagers is just like the credits in RE4
Capcom really knows how to make a badass ending credits sequence.
So basically this Fairytale tells the whole story of the game
The ending made me cry very hard like a baby! 😭
Seeing Ethan's unconditional love to his daughter in this game is just priceless! 💕
An ode to Ethan Winters; a man who proved his will alone was more powerful than any of the monsters that dare got in the way of protecting and saving his girls.

I grew up with the Resident Evil series when I was only four years of age, my grandmother introduced me to the series as far back as 1999. My very first video game was also the 1996 version of RE. Ive played all since then upon their release...
Some may call my grandmother a bad woman for introducing me to such a series, but the RE series was more than just a game. We bonded through the game and its story, two fans of the same series, and she played them with me too and had detailed discussions with me about the backstories and what would possibly happen in the next game...
Unfortunately, she perished of lung cancer last year, and i still miss her to this day. Every Resident Evil game I play, I wish I could enjoy with her. She died in 70s of age. Im turning 25 of this year.
Following the games ending and the facts in game leading up to the creation of umbrella and Miranda, coupled with Ethan's heroic nature as a father and his sacrifice at the end of the game, followed by my memories of my grandmother. Makes me burst into tears everytime...

The ending is so sad.
I like how the story has changed after playing the game. Even the branch that grows as the girl runs isn't just a branch anymore, it looks like the mold from the end.
Re 8 one of the best games ever it really exceeded my expectation the horror was turned down tho but still it was great 9.5/10

Honestly this game is literally resident evil 4 in spirit. Both have similar ending credits where a village was once happy, filled with normal people enjoying their lives and suddenly an greedy individual arrives to destroy their lives. As an very old fan of the series resident evil village is now my number one resident evil game, I'd recommend it to everyone.
Resident Evil Village is so underrated both as a game and as a story. I put it right there with 2 and 4 as the best resident evils
My opinion too
The music gave me Death Stranding Vibes. It really brings the emotion out of me.
here because pewdiepie skipped the story book part 🤦♀️
yea I was pretty disappointed when he skipped
Does he have adhd or something where he can't wait like 30 seconds
The chat was telling him to skip to post credits scene
Most of the OG RUclipsrs don't care about games now. It's just fact. Literally 10% interest in games.
Yo, I'm not hating him or something, but if you want to watch thorough gameplay of any video games or getting the vibes of it, pewds is definitely a no go.
This was a bittersweet ending for sure. I personally liked ethan, thought he was a fresh character getting into RE and I wanted to get into more of his background. And re8 DEFINITELY did that for me. Got a lot of story behind ethan and I knew too it was crazy all the damage he would take but be okay, and not on the terms of a videogame main character lmao But man.... the death had me cryinggg, he always just wanted to look out for his family since re7 and just dealt with everything head on :/ also love the picturebook drawing at the end, gave that mysterious, eerie and morbid vibe like the ending in re4 which was a great callback to the game . Both a shame because a village of people got in the middle of a bad fate 😭
I don't remember when was the last time i saw a bone-chilling credit scene and music in a video game.
They upped their series with RE8. What a game.
RE8 is really a special game in the Resident Evil series. I can't think of another game in the line up that could do such a cool story-book style scene. And the song is so chilling! This and Aunt Rhody from RE7 are my favorite songs in a video game and capcom should be proud of the progress they made with this series
So after Ethan's sacrifice, we timeskipped to Rose teenage years?
So what happened to chris?
he is fucking old lmao
@@sommer4570 obviously, but what happened after the explosion leading up to rose's teenage hood?
What happened between him and the BSAA?
@@raiga5-6-42 exactly, like what happened with everyone
@@tai2664 they better make shits clear or everyone will riot over a plot hole,
It's important to understand what is Chris' grudge against the current BSAA and why did he went rogue and seen with Blue Umbrella during RE:7
@@raiga5-6-42 exactly! But re9 would be about Rose from what it seems. Capcom wants to finish the story of the Winters on a trilogy (re7, re8 and re9) so re10 have to be a prequel. But making a number title a prequel is confusing. They usually follow the actual timeline. So they would have to fnish the story of the main cast on spin offs which would be kinda lame
We will always miss u Ethan🥺😭
Mother Miranda is parent of the century
This ending hit me harder than TLoU2 did, poor Rose...
Lmao TLoU2
@@derpedfox lmao TLoU2 /2
There's a story in The Last of Us 2??
THIS is the proper way to kill your main character... funnily enough we now know he died in the tutorial 30 minutes into the game of RE7 so in hindsight Joel “technically” got killed off more respectfully :p
@@davidwilson4446 Lmao, went to the tlou subreddit (the bad one) for saying that re8 was a great story, i didnt even say that tlou2 was bad, these guys just wanna live in a safe space.
Here it is
The one memorable song in the game
The ending song goes so well with the game !!!! Such a great game!
The illustrations of how the villagers turned to lycans is a haunting call back to what happened to the villagers in Resident Evil 4. Still remember watching the end credits to that game, and seeing how they slowly turned crazy. It's sad and eerie.
It’s lowkey anti covid vax campaign
This remind me of re4 end credit where all villagers were just normal human living until a cult leader come come and creating chaos
When I heard these credits and the way ethan said his Goodbye Rosemary damn near had me crying and i hardly cry about a games cutscene
I cried my life away at the end ;w;
The credit kinda gives the Resident Evil 4 vibe.
You know it's kinda fitting that ethan was mutated into mold by eveline who was made with dna of eva, former daughter of miranda manage to kill miranda. In a sense, miranda's madness was put end by his own daughter.
@CruzZ wait how did you know rose gained Miranda's powers?
I didnt play the game btw js watched some playthroughs
@@angiel.8720 since rose essentially draining Miranda’s powers towards the end I can assume that she got them that way. She absorbed her powers when Miranda was trying to connect to her to transform her into her daughter Eva
i didn’t expect to tear up from this but here i am
RE7 : who the fuck is this guy where's Leon or Chris
RE8 : nooooooooooooooooooo Ethan nooooo
Respect for Ethan.
Coraline has a conection here.
Damn, at only 7 really!? I'm 18 and I still can't get past those dang Bella Sisters.
I am addicted to the first part of this. I want a whole show in this art style!
3:09 this part got me close to crying
I thought there would have been an in memoriam for Jaenette Maus who voiced the 3 daughters.
Edit: she only voiced one of the daughters, Cassandra.
I believe she only voiced Cassandra?
@@widget5718 She did. I know Nicole Tompkins, the new Jill, did one of the daughters.
@@widget5718 ah okay, sorry!
@@ajaykundlas7461 Yeah you’re right i just checked imdb it was just Cassandra.
Yeah I wish they added one, hopefully in a future update they include it
Though I still wish they added it in the base game
That's full plot of Game
Pretty much
Yeah.
5:47 1.Trailer Music😍
This was my favourite resident evil game in looking forward to seeing where they will go with the next game that follows on from this storyline
Heisenberg was my favorite boss
ayo i might be stretching here but couldn't this song also be from mirandas perspective?
the beginning could be how the megamycete "comforted" her when she needed it, but that's very much a stretch. mainly the second half fits- "hello my tears/sorrow, because of you i am who i am" since this whole thing was started by mirandas grief, she went to that cave to die because of the sorrow she felt when she lost eva, and then found the megamycete. "long ago i did not know who i was - and in the deepness i was lost" grief and depression can make you feel like nothing, hollow, and like you've lost yourself. "deepness" could also refer to the cave. miranda did also literally lose herself in that cave, as she became part of the megamycete and changed into an entirely different person.
or i'm making this all up idk lmao
When I completed the game, I didn't even cry. I just felt sad for hours. Really effective ending.
I was carefully waiting for the name of Chris's voice actor because he sounds similar to Carlos's in RE3. Then I saw "Adult Rose" and I'm like whaat? I was shocked that there's gonna be a post credit scene
It's the same actor.
Absolutely adore this game and song tho! Honestly now my favourite of the Resident evil series tbh
