My original thought was "This person must be like ten years old," but if you were six when you did this, you could be 18 now. Man, it doesn't feel like it's been that long!

@@kittykittybangbang9367Well of course everyone talked about 90s and early 00’s because that’s when millenials were finally grown up amd where able to discuss their childhood nostalgia. The same is happening now to the gen z.
YO the word “surrealist” is definitely what I would describe those eras and for someone who grew up on that shit, it is no wonder why I am attracted to liminal aesthetics and surrealism. It’s not only futuristic but also nostalgic ✨
Films that actually used 3D immersively were Coraline, Rango, James Cameron's Avatar and Martin Scorsese's Hugo, The How to Train Your Dragon Trilogy, Rise of the Guardians and the first Croods. Some of these had a great director at the helm while others on top of animation had the great Roger Deakins as a visual consultant, helping the films hold up visually both regular and 3D.
I wasn't allowed to watch Coraline as a kid (which I now understand) even though it came with my dad's blu-ray player. I ended up watching it a few years ago with some friends, and it was a great use of 3D! When it was still newer, How To Train Your Dragon and Despicable Me (and their sequels) where usually the go-to 3D movies to watch when friends would come over. Tangled was pretty good too as it was one of the first big animated Disney movies to get a 3D blu-ray.
Coraline was the first movie I saw in polarized 3d and, though I've seen lots of 3D movies since then, I feel like it was my absolute favorite use of the technology. It has a lot of really cool scenes that look amazing without being too jarring when viewed outside of 3D(The big battle with the other mother on her spider web comes to mind and is probably the coolest scene I've ever seen in 3D) The flight scenes in HTTYD were also very cool though!
I watched over half of this video not noticing how small your channel is. I assumed this was a bigger channel. I do not understand how this doesn’t have more views. You did a great job with this and I hope your channel blows up soon! Edit(3/9/2023): YOOOOOOOO!!!! YOUR CHANNEL BLEW UP LETS GOOOO! I’m happy for you!
It's funny to think that despite the 3DS being one of my favorite systems ever, I rarely ever touched that 3D slider. I wonder how differently the system's history would've been if they didn't have 3D, and just put that money into better specs and materials
The 3d effects just gave me a headache and you had to look very specifically in the middle of the screen with the 3d effect so yeah i didn't use it much either.
I'm the exact opposite actually, nowadays I only play with the 3D on but at the minimum, I quite like how it makes the image sharper and adds the illusion of depth. It was a pain to get used to it though, it was the first console I bought with my own money so I persisted SO hard in using it
I actually quite like it, it gives alot of depth and makes the colours a bit softer, but I mostly because like three days ago some people made some custom software to play Virtual Boy games on it using the 3D effect, and it's really good!
As an early 2000s born person, it reminds me of the time when I was a kid in the late 2000s to early 2010s after Avatar became the most financially successful movie of all time, every movie company forced this 3D stuff on us for the next few years, even going as far as to make 3D BluRays and the 3DS as you have iterated. After the trend died, I eventually noticed that they hadn't done much with it since then except for IMAX and local cinemas bringing 3D back just for Avatar screenings.
oh my god this era was hell for me as a child with chronic migraines. My school friends would invite me to a movie and I had to make sure it was 2d otherwise I couldn’t go and I always felt like garbage and would get made fun of. I cannot overstate how excited I was when the 3d cinema experience obsession ended. I remember the dread I felt when I arrived to a screening I assumed was 2d, only to be handed those god awful “real D” glasses at the entrance.. never failed to make me sick
Crazy I had the exact same experience but I grew out of it and collect 3d media now lol. It has to do with how close together your eyes are when you're little.
The only 3D film I ever saw as a kid was Tangled, surprisingly. I had no idea what to expect, and I’ll admit Disney did a great job at incorporating it into the movie. I’ll never forget watching the lantern scene and looking around as it looked like they were literally flying around me. It’s one of the reasons why Tangled became my favorite movie of all time, so despite it being kind of a dumb fad it was amazing to me
Not even a thousand subscribers yet, and you're one of the best sounding channels out there. Good luck in the realm of RUclips, I hope you reach that thousand subscriber milestone.
I remember watching the "Journey to the center of the earth" movie at the movie theater when I was a kid. I had forgotten about this movie but as soon as you talked about it I remember the mouthwash scene lmao, you definitely unlocked a lost memory in my brain. This channel is about to blow up as soon as you get more content out, these videos are really cool to binge watch (just watched most of them).
Interesting, as your comment unlocked a similar memory for me. I had watched a limited subset of that at an amusement park while on holiday in the Gold Coast (probably WB Movie World) in 2010, that I believe was a 4D experience instead of just 3D, and that was the first time I learnt about the existence of different editions of books, especially famous ones that would get reprinted many MANY times. There was also a tiny element in the film that I wouldn't have thought about if I was just watching it in 2D, but in 3D, that got engrained enough into my mind to mix with a couple other figments to create a little element for an animated series idea I was inactively working on around that time, that element being an object or character which would later be scrapped a couple of times and have some elements carried over to a graphic novel idea I've been inactively working on since 2018. Edit: I had never watched the full film, only that limited 4D experience.
I was a pretty big fan of the 3D on the 3DS myself, it made catching beetles in Animal Crossing a LOT easier because it was easier to gauge the actual distance between my character and the beetle. Also it was always amazing in Cutscenes
The “new” 3DS greatly improved the viewability of the 3D, where as long as it’s properly calibrated, sensors on the device will track your face and know where to angle the 3D. You have to do an initial calibration when setting it up, and then you can go back to the settings and redo it if you notice issues later. Certain games use it in really nice ways, like many games having their cutscenes animated in 3D, so while playing on my new 3DS LL, I like to turn it on for that spectacle at times, but it gives me a headache if I turn it on for too long, sadly. The face tracking makes it very usable except for that.
I remember having to watch sharkboy and lavagirl as part of an art class, in 9th grade, I remember that we accidentally played the 3D version and the film was slightly blurry because of it, the problem was fixed later on and we finally played the 2D version.
In the late 90s/early 00s, there was a weird scratch and sniff fad that literally no one talks about. There were tv events that you could get these scratch and sniff cards for. I think one of them was on Nickelodeon and rugrats was on the card? It’s such a vague memory at this point but I’d love to see someone do a deep dive on that
I had the rugrats scratch and sniff! I remember one was banana and one was something disgusting like baby drool? I don't remember where we got them, so weird!
Spy Kids 3 was my intro to 3D movies and it blew my mind at age 5. Cut to 10 years later and I was cursing myself for not specifying that I wanted to see the 2-D version of the movie and had to pay extra. My DVD copy of Coraline came with the 3-D glasses and I still have them, even though I don't watch it in 3-D anymore
Great video! I absolutley love all things 3D, almost irrationally so. During the early days of Covid, I built a home theater and bought a 3D projector, and now I collect any and all 3D blurays and go to the theater to see everything released in 3D. I know most people hate the format and claim that 3D is dead, but there is still a dedicated group of diehard 3D enthusiasts
Avatar The Wya of Water was the first 3D movie I've seen in at least over a decade. Honestly I think it was worth it. Some scenes in that movie really benefited from the 3D. James Cameron is probably the only guy that actually likes 3D movies.
I've sadly never experienced that 3D movie experience. However, I do have nostalgic memories of watching Sharkboy and Lavagirl with my siblings. It being ironic or unironic is up to you.
Y’all act like it’s just 2000s still a lot of 3d movies y’all just grow up and ignore the modern ones and seem to think it’s all over just cause it’s over for you …
I remember going to see Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over in theaters with my family when I was little. This was back when 3D glasses were still the classic blue and red tinted kind. Like 2/3 of the way through the movie (pretty sure it was during the buildup to the fight scene at the end), Floop appears on screen and instructs the audience to remove their glasses. Confused looks all around, but when we took them off, our vision was "stained" in blue and red, so we could experience the 3D effect without glasses. That was pretty mind-blowing as a kid, perhaps among my favorite ever theater experiences, even if the movie itself wasn't great.
6:10 To add to that, many people use the 3D Glasses Recycling bin as a regular trash can. The trash is really annoying to clean out. Mostly popcorn and candy wrappers (thankfully no soda/drinks)
When I discover your channel, you was small and very underrated when it come to the videos, very high production. Now it's only been couple of days, just couple of days, from 100 subs to now 1.23K. You grew a lot, keep up with the good work.
I remember when 3D movies started becoming extremely popular in the 2010's and people were doing the nerd glasses thing. I was one of those kids who loved mustaches, nerdy glasses, and poop emojis so I can totally relate to that era XD. My dad thought the idea was so cool, that he actually got a 3D TV that we had for a couple of years before he sold it to get an OLED TV that we have now. We still have two copies of avatar because one of them at 3d capabilities and the other was a regular bluray XD. I also remember how cool my 3ds was when it could do a 3d affect without glasses, and I actually still have my 3ds xl from 2012 that I play on. The 3d affect now hurts my eyes on it so I rarely use it. I know the new one has a better one, but I never bothered to upgrade because I really like my original one. 🥰
Just found this channel today and I can’t stop watching your videos. You’re so down to earth and it’s awesome seeing someone talk about nostalgia from my era instead of 90s nostalgia
Your videos are excellent and your delivery of scripts is superb, capitalizing on the early 2000s is something that hasn’t been covered well by many people and there’s a wealth of really bizarre and fun topics which you seem to also have found interesting, keep doing what you’re doing!!
It was fun to see movies in 3D, it was a real treat before it was everywhere. The ones I remember most were Disney’s “A Christmas Carol” as it gave the classic tale a new experience of feeling like you were really there, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. The headaches I would get afterwards though wasn’t fun.
It’s like you lived in my brain and are now covering all of the topics that made up my childhood and I could not be more grateful ❤ I’m always so happy to see a new video of yours! Please keep up the amazing work❤❤
Any of y'all remember when Nickelodeon made "smellovision" movies which were just scratch and sniff cards that came in the DVD case of the movie, and a little symbol would pop up on screen to tell you when to scratch and sniff a particular spot on the card? I only remember it coming with Rugrats Go Wild and being very disappointed that the "Phil's Feet" scratch and sniff section only smelled mildly bad. There was also a jar of jelly or peanutbutter I think, and that one was also disappointingly mild.
I’m just popping in to say that the “New” 3DS had a much better 3D screen that could be viewed from any angle and didn’t give me headaches or eye strains like the original did. The 3D on the OG models did suck though and I never used it but I used the 3D on the “New” 3DS quite a bit.
I love it when I find a random interesting channel with a substantial catalogue of videos I can mindlessly binge while I'm doing basic human tasks because my attention span is fucked. May your channel blow up.
I'm actually glad there's not a lot of 3d anymore, since I cannot see out of my right eye, resulting in 3d just not working for me. Since I can't see 3d, it makes me feel a bit left out. I wish someone could create a type of 3d that is all digital, and does not require 2 eyes in order to see it. When I saw star tours at disneyland, it wasn't as impactful for me as it might've been for other people, but I did notice something. When I looked at it without the glasses, I could see 2 images, but with the glasses, I only saw 1. 3d glasses do have an effect on me, and seeing star tours with the glasses was better than without, but I still couldn't see in 3d, since I was only able to see 1 image.
That’s how 3D glasses work. There are 2 images; one for each eye. The lens ‘removes’ the right image, and vice versa. That’s what gives it the 3D effect.
I can see out of both eyes and I still couldn't notice the 3D effect that much in movies... It always felt like an experimental gimmick, I could see a bit of 3D but it wasn't really impactful.
I actually like the 3DS' 3D. I don't use it all the time on every game but it's useful when I might need to be able to see depth a bit better, and it looks pretty neat. The intro video for MH3U looks awesome in 3D. Mind you I have the "new" model with the eye tracking 3D.
really wish they would toy around more with 3d i always found it interesting as a kid especially my first experience with avatar and always having trouble keeping my glasses on cuz theyd just fall right off but after that i had a short obsession with 3d to having my older brothers friend collecting 3d movies and glasses always hearing about how much he wants to experiment with 3d to wanting a 3ds for chirstmas and finally blessed with one on easter out of all holidays which i still have and always remember i have once a year thinking about how cool it was having a strange period in time that i got to experience first hand. lets just hope were still alive to see if 4d can be a real thing lmao
Yes for me it was the best period...I was in my early 20s and started earning some money which I saved and bought 2 of the first 3D TV's... A Sony for myself and a Samsung for my sibling... Super expensive at the time, but the craze was worth it. Had to also purchase a slim PS3, and a glasses kit.
@@norwegianboyee yep that's when I bought them is when I realized it. So uncomfortable with prescription glasses...I even got the next generation 3D glasses that were lighter and still there was discomfort.
i have a vivid memory of going to see a movie with my nana and being horrified when i found out it wasn’t 3D. as a 2002 baby in australia, i basically grew up with only 3D movies so to see it go was dramatic as fuck

the psychic damage i received at the mention of making nerd glasses from the reald glasses 😭 i can only remember one movie ive ever seen in 3d though, and it was frozen. my family donated to a canned food drive at a theatre so we got free tickets for any movie, so of course we opted to see frozen in 3d since it would be free! i think the snow effects worked gorgeously with the 3d effect (the let it go sequence especially was wonderful in 3d), but i cant remember any other parts that utilised 3d as well. im honestly kinda glad that we left the 3d craze behind since theres no real charm to it anymore (imo), but i do like that the 3d craze gave us the nintendo 3ds, aka my favourite console ever. also just a note, there was an updated 3ds that improved on the 3d feature !! it used a special type of camera to track where your head was and would adjust the 3d display accordingly. granted i have a new nintendo 3ds xl, and i still rarely use the 3d because it gives me headaches after long uses, but i find myself using the 3d more on my new 3ds than my old one because its highly improved
So my mom and I just watched the new Little Mermaid in 3D, we didn't know it was a 3D showing until we got handed the glasses. Thankfully it wasn't too jarring, I actually forgot it was a 3D showing halfway in. Sharkboy and Lavagirl was a trip to watch in 3D, but the Dark Knight Rises in 4D? With the moving seats and whatnot? That was wild
Omg, I just felt the nostalgia really hard. This was exactly my childhood / teenage years. While I'm from Europe, the development was almost the same as you described it in the video. I went to the cinema a lot with my parents and I think there were a few years where I only saw films in 3D. I still have a bag full of 3D glasses that I need to recycle, but I somehow missed the point a few years ago when I had less time and the pandemic came up. (We kept them after the film as I think our movie theater charged like 1€ for a new pair. Obviously we still always forgot them or went with friends so now I have like 20.) The 3DS was sadly out of our budget, but I remember that my cousin got it and I wanted it so badly - but only because it was the most gorgeous metallic blue🤣I played some Mario Kart on hers but I think I might've broken the record for the person with the fastest time to give up due to feeling sick because of the 3D, I didn't even make it through one round I think. The 4D cinemas I also remember, if in 30 years or so people look back on this decade they won't believe it. These are the weirdest stuff ever, not to mention the places you could find them. I was a very anxious child (and still have anxiety issues, look at that, how surprising), so everything that was that unpredictable and made to catch you a little bit off guard was the true horror to me. Yup, that's right: a normal 3D movie was fine but the pure thought of a movie theatre with moving seats scared the sh*t out of me🤣 Anyway, this didn't add much to the conversation but I just wanted to share my experiences and help the algorithm. Because I think your videos need more attention😊
I got really severe migraines as a kid so a simple headache escalated quickly. I wish there had been some kind of warning on the box of 3DS's because I couldn't figure out why my head hurt so much and why it was hard to see. I only put the pieces together when I played for a long period of time and when I looked up everything was blurry and I had a pounding headache. It's safe to say I avoid 3D things like the plague now.
I'm gonna leave this comment as a marker for this channels future. Currently, it's December 30, 2022 and this channel has 4.1 K subscribers. I've only watched two videos on this channel so far and I'm planning on watching the rest of them. The quality of the videos is beyond that of channels with 100 times the subscribers. Keep up the fantastic content and I think you'll have a great future!
When I was a kid in 2015 or so the aquarium my dad worked at during that time introduced a 3d theatre, that’s the only time I ever experienced a 4D film. It was interesting and it freaked me out. I was undiagnosed with autism at the time so I wasn’t as in control and I remember having a meltdown over the way it confused me, they also splashed water at us through little spots in the seats and it horrified me. I was around 6 or 7 at the time.
as a kid who wore chunky glasses i lowkey hated going to 3d movies because i had to force one of the glasses over the other if i wanted to see and experience 3d simultaneously
I find it funny that you have that Thumbs up boi on all of you’re thumbnails so far Also I just found you’re content hours ago by the time I’m typing this out I’m liking it a lot (sorry if I typed your wrong Grammar is tough on my monkebrain)
I used to pop out the lenses and paint my nerd glasses with nail polish! I would also glue old earrings or charm bracelet charms to the sides!! I made a Halloween themed pair that I was particularly proud of!!
Currently at 09:15 and I have to say I have three 3DS, I've been playing regularly since 2012 and I've always LOVED the 3D feature. Until a few years ago I never turned it off unless I wanted to show games to friends. Now I turn it off while doing homebrew stuff or sometimes when playing games that are only partially 3D, but I always turn it on when playing full 3D games. Some scenes look simply amazing and I don't get why everyone who doesn't get a headache still hates the 3D effect. Also, about cinema 3D glasses. I repainted them into superhero glasses with stuff like a "targeting system" on the inside of the glasses and painted parts of the outside glass with glitter colours. I still have all of them
The 3D RUclips period was around just enough to let content creators experiment for a little while and wow their viewers. Just like Burger King hot dogs, it came... went... and nobody really complains it was discontinued. The best one I saw was Freddy Wong's 3D render of Mario's POV as he cleared the first stage while metal theme was playing. It's saved on an old drive. You really have me hooked on these random topic deep dives.
God I remember watching the One Direction movie in 3D in the cinema and it was really weird because all of their on stage segments and live performances were edited so obviously to work for 3D (the moment when the red and white balloons were thrown out during WMYB is seared into my memory) but the rest of the time when the boys went home and we just saw their off time, it was really weird since there was no point in it (although seeing Niall Horan on the tour bus in 3D mesmerised 9 y/o me)
I remember getting the 3DS when I was 11 in 2012 when ACNL came out, excitedly holding my new game and 3DS in the car and then when getting home, putting in the game after starting up the 3DS and turning on the 3D feature I was blown away, and then quickly turned it off an hour into playing
whats so funny about you mentioning that avatar was a movie that was provided for 3d was how a couple of people told me that watching the second movie in 3d was a good idea and after doing it, it was such a surreal experience: the last time i had put on 3d glasses was maybe 2013-2016
Watching 3d movies on a vr headset is next level. You don't have to worry about position or anything else extra. The problem is I don't think studios are going to cater to an audience that likely knows how to pirate their expensive films
Great video, also i remember as a kid dollywood had a 4-D journey to the center of the earth attraction. Too young to remember if it had the mouthwash scene though lol
Oh my gosh, shark boy and lava girl were played by such young children. When I first watched the movie as a kid, I thought they looked so much older and more mature than me. It's crazy looking back on old stuff like this.
Journey to the Center of the Earth was the first and last proper 3D film I saw as a kid before I became blind in one eye. Glad I got to have the full experience on such a riveting feature film. Those blue butterflies? A once-in-a-lifetime sight (literally).
i distinctly remember re-watching Coraline for the first time in my pre-teen years (because i finally outgrew my fear of the movie) and finding a little 3D dvd and glasses in our Coraline Blu-ray copy. i put the glasses on for a moment, watched the opening song, then promptly watched the rest of the movie in 2d. it was such a weird time
I also remember watching Sharkboy and Lavagirl on TV and being very confused, mostly at the close-up scenes.. Didn't know that Sharkboy and Lavagirl was originally a 3D film
I remember when a magazine I used to read had some issues (these were around 2010 or earlier) where they had 3D stuff and so they gave out free 3D glasses on those same issues. I had 2 of those cause of that and around that time, Disney also aired the Hannah Montana 3D concert on tv and my siblings got to try out the glasses themselves. Unfortunately for me, I never got to enjoy any of the 3D stuff due to a disability that I didn't know wouldn't let me use the glasses until I tried it on for the first time. (;-;)
Oh my god, I totally forgot that the Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3D glasses were themed! Talk about an unlocked memory lol. I remember desperately holding onto my Sharkboy pair for future 3D movies, like they were the coolest thing ever. Another weird thing around this time was Smell-O-Vision via The Rugrats Go Wild. They gave you a little scratch and sniff card, and little queues would appear during the movie signaling you to sniff a specific square. Things like banana baby food, and dirty socks!
I am slowly watching all the vids, im running out of Jelly! Sharkboy and lava girl and spy kids were the pinnacle of a kid of the late 90s early 2000s. Keep on being jelly!! ❤
I've stumbled across a number of your videos, it's interesting because they always make me feel old. It's fascinating when I hear 20 something's wax nostalgic about something as recent as the year 2005; basically what feels like 3 years ago or so. To me the styles, trends, etc have barely changed since the mid 90s. Basically nothing newer than about 1995 can ever seem old or nostalgic, it's all still too modern. Films look the same since then (basically when CGI started to be used en masse). Music stylistically took on its modern pop sound that basically hasn't changed since about then. Video games became 3D polygonal around that time too which is still the same. Cheers!
I remember shark boy and lava girl and journey to the center of the earth and the whacky 3-D glasses haha from my childhood. I also have a 3ds that I got for my 12th birthday in 2011 and I thought it was the coolest things ever. I like it when you talk about the history of 3d. I didn’t know that 3D goes back to time, interesting. I remember going to the imax theater watching movies in 3D for the glasses and making some nerd glasses when I was a tween in the early 2010s.
When SHarkboy and Lavagirl released, I was like three months old, so I discovered it several years later, and it became one of my favorite movies at the time I just discovered everything you said about it and it blew my mind, I had no idea
ik ur getting a lot of these comments (granted ig it's not a bad thing tho), but I just wanted to say the incredible level of polish and production value in your videos is outstanding. Im boutta use my 3d glasses to manifest the amityville 3 demon to get you more subscribers.
I wonder how much of this 3D stuff is going to become lost media. I'm sure the TV stuff already has. I believe there is a way you can view 3D movies through VR. But a lot of home releases used the Red & Blue glasses. I like to think there's some rich 3D enthusiast, collecting the film reels for these. I really liked 3D in this era. Particularly when movies didn't shove it in your face. And I love my 3DS!
I know that DreamWorks would include scenes where you see a black barrier and then it would be removed, and how there are m9ments where it felt like they did try and out that whole 3d effect like its going straight to your face.... good times
When I was a kid, I rented a Barbie DVD from the library. There was an option to watch the film in 3D, but it didn’t come with glasses (the previous owner probably lost them or something before giving it to the library). Being the weird kid that I was, I still put it on 3D mode because I thought the red and blue outline on the animation looked cool. 😂
I recorded a really boring video on my 3Ds and turned on 3D mode and called it a "movie" when I was little and forced my family to watch.
I never got to use 3D mode.. stupid parental controls
Icon behavior tbh
I did that for my dad's birthday with some toy trucks
@dd Young? 3Dses are turning 12 years old this year.
My original thought was "This person must be like ten years old," but if you were six when you did this, you could be 18 now. Man, it doesn't feel like it's been that long!
The late 2000's-early 2010's was such a surrealist era and its nice to finally see it being covered and addressed!
ikr everybody's always talking about the late 90s/early 00s but it's time for the late 00s/early 10s to get some love now

Even the Avatar video game had 3D
Coraline was the first movie I saw in polarized 3d and, though I've seen lots of 3D movies since then, I feel like it was my absolute favorite use of the technology. It has a lot of really cool scenes that look amazing without being too jarring when viewed outside of 3D(The big battle with the other mother on her spider web comes to mind and is probably the coolest scene I've ever seen in 3D)
The flight scenes in HTTYD were also very cool though!
Gravity blew the rest away

i completely agree!
It's almost like popularity and quality are completely unrelated, despite what some people will claim
@@dreamyjellies YOU BLEW UP! I’m so happy for ya! Let’s hope the growth keeps coming!
It's funny to think that despite the 3DS being one of my favorite systems ever, I rarely ever touched that 3D slider. I wonder how differently the system's history would've been if they didn't have 3D, and just put that money into better specs and materials
Same I didn’t use the slider that much
The 3d effects just gave me a headache and you had to look very specifically in the middle of the screen with the 3d effect so yeah i didn't use it much either.
I'm the exact opposite actually, nowadays I only play with the 3D on but at the minimum, I quite like how it makes the image sharper and adds the illusion of depth. It was a pain to get used to it though, it was the first console I bought with my own money so I persisted SO hard in using it
@@theasuke8091good to know it wasnt completely useless to everyone.
They made too many bad movies and the tech was treated as a marketing gimmick
oh my god this era was hell for me as a child with chronic migraines.
Same!! 3DS's where awful I wish they had a warning on the box because I can still remember the pounding headache and blurry vision.
omg the amount of times i pushed all my hair in front of my face so my friends couldnt see me closing my eyes. i got a migraine every damn time
Crazy I had the exact same experience but I grew out of it and collect 3d media now lol.

Edit: I had never watched the full film, only that limited 4D experience.
this made me realize i don’t remember what 3d movies look like and now i really wanna rewatch the new avatar in 3d
it really good.also my brother helped to edit the movie
You should! I watched it in 3d and it was so amazing. Just make sure you take a break because of how long the movie is, it did hurt my eyes a lot.

@pkcell I had the Nintendo 3DS! I remember playing games such as New Super Mario Bros. 2 as well as Kirby and Pokemon Ultra Sun!
Me too. My left eye is completely blind and the first time I went to see Ice Age 2 in 3D I only saw a blue filter 😂

To add to that, many people use the 3D Glasses Recycling bin as a regular trash can.
This channel is definitely going to blow up. Great work on the vid. Been seeing a lot of your others ones too and they’re pretty addictive lol.
This channel was literally made for me. I’m surprised it’s so new. I can’t wait to see where this goes. You’re already my favorite RUclipsr

Rarely do I end a video with a goofy smile on my face but you got me this time! You deserve way more recognition!!
I thought I imagined this lmao
Congratulations for 1K. It's crazy how yesterday you only had about 600.
I love your thumbnails so much
I actually like the 3DS' 3D. I don't use it all the time on every game but it's useful when I might need to be able to see depth a bit better, and it looks pretty neat. The intro video for MH3U looks awesome in 3D. Mind you I have the "new" model with the eye tracking 3D.

i can only remember one movie ive ever seen in 3d though, and it was frozen. my family donated to a canned food drive at a theatre so we got free tickets for any movie, so of course we opted to see frozen in 3d since it would be free! i think the snow effects worked gorgeously with the 3d effect (the let it go sequence especially was wonderful in 3d), but i cant remember any other parts that utilised 3d as well. im honestly kinda glad that we left the 3d craze behind since theres no real charm to it anymore (imo), but i do like that the 3d craze gave us the nintendo 3ds, aka my favourite console ever.
also just a note, there was an updated 3ds that improved on the 3d feature !! it used a special type of camera to track where your head was and would adjust the 3d display accordingly. granted i have a new nintendo 3ds xl, and i still rarely use the 3d because it gives me headaches after long uses, but i find myself using the 3d more on my new 3ds than my old one because its highly improved
Obviously we still always forgot them or went with friends so now I have like 20.)
The 3DS was sadly out of our budget, but I remember that my cousin got it and I wanted it so badly - but only because it was the most gorgeous metallic blue🤣I played some Mario Kart on hers but I think I might've broken the record for the person with the fastest time to give up due to feeling sick because of the 3D, I didn't even make it through one round I think.
Yup, that's right: a normal 3D movie was fine but the pure thought of a movie theatre with moving seats scared the sh*t out of me🤣
Anyway, this didn't add much to the conversation but I just wanted to share my experiences and help the algorithm.

God I remember watching the One Direction movie in 3D in the cinema and it was really weird because all of their on stage segments and live performances were edited so obviously to work for 3D (the moment when the red and white balloons were thrown out during WMYB is seared into my memory) but the rest of the time when the boys went home and we just saw their off time, it was really weird since there was no point in it (although seeing Niall Horan on the tour bus in 3D mesmerised 9 y/o me)

whats so funny about you mentioning that avatar was a movie that was provided for 3d was how a couple of people told me that watching the second movie in 3d was a good idea and after doing it, it was such a surreal experience: the last time i had put on 3d glasses was maybe 2013-2016

I remember seeing 3D cell phones at one point in a mall kiosk.

Great video essay and incredibly well done.
When SHarkboy and Lavagirl released, I was like three months old, so I discovered it several years later, and it became one of my favorite movies at the time
I just discovered everything you said about it and it blew my mind, I had no idea
My first Real-D 3D movie was Guardians of Ga'hoole, and honestly the visuals still hold up, even when it catered to the 3D trend
This is a great video! I’m glad I found your channel. Keep it up!
i saw the polar express in 3d. tom hanks’ big face was yelling at me as a child in 3d
ik ur getting a lot of these comments (granted ig it's not a bad thing tho), but I just wanted to say the incredible level of polish and production value in your videos is outstanding. Im boutta use my 3d glasses to manifest the amityville 3 demon to get you more subscribers.
I have somehow managed to find your channel and watch all your videos… they are awesome! :)
7:07 Oh man it’s like that fish is REAL!
I've never seen journey so thank you for introducing me to Brendan Fraser spitting on the camera. It's not something I knew i needed
Love ur vids- your crazy underrated
