Hello love the video like always. While watching I noticed a high frequency noise in the background of your voice audio around 15Khz. Which can happen if you have an old CRT monitor on in the background. Other than that this is the greatest cat video about cat videos about cats on the internet!!!
Hi @dreamjellies I love your videos so much! I would like to let you know there is a high pitched sound coming from your voice over mic or recordings. I might have to do with a cable issue with the wiring. I love your content and I don’t want it to take away from your videos especially for people with sensitive ears. You might hear it if you turn it up loud to me I hear it more. Again I love your videos and consume them like a vacuum I just hope this can be addressed please!
Also since I record music I’ve had this issue before with the ringing in the high ends most of the time it is a connection issue be it cable or an issue with the microphone, or if you have a set of speakers that make noise or a ring, while recording it sometimes will get picked up.
I feel the need to admit I’ve had a Grumpy Cat “I HAD FUN ONCE. IT WAS AWFUL.’ Poster hung up in my room for years now and I have no intention of taking it down
fun fact, the song for nyan cat is a vocaloid song by daniwellp called, fittingly, Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya! the original version used hatsune miku and is still occasionally seen in live concerts to this day. the version used in nyan cat is a cover using the utau voice bank momone momo instead
YES I was always SO annoying everytime nyan cat was ever brought up I wouldn't be able to help myself from going "DID U KNOW MIKU SINGS THAT" even when it came up on the screen I just kept excitedly being like "Miku Miku Miku" it is truly an annoying song of all time but anything Miku related never fails to unlock my past Vocaloid special interest back up for a few minutes like a cursed pandora's box
Yup, I wish he got more recognition for that. I love his songs to this day, they're catchy and cool, and a big part of the fame that Nyan Cat had was thanks to that yet he didn't receive the credit he deserves?
Lolcats had such a profound effect on me as a kid to the extent that in year six (age about ten) for a creative writing assignment at school I wrote a short story where my cat learned to talk… and of course spoke Lolspeak with peak icanhascheezburger humour. Can’t remember what my poor teacher thought
Your teacher probably found it creative and a funny read, or they wouldn't have fostered an environment you felt truly creative, and if Im wrong and they were a shit teacher you are still the winner for using your imagination and writing about something you loved ❤
@@charliechumbuck9356 if i remember correctly i think it was analysing how language has multiple “standards” within different subcultures? And how lolcat memes are “likeable” because of the way the speech emulates children’s speech hahah

why did the transition between grumpy cat and nyan cat actually make me super hype. i heard a single nya and i was sucked back to my childhood that was CRAZY
Since he was mentioned, honestly I still adore Nyan Cat so much. He’s adorable, he exudes a boundless sense of optimism, he reminds me of simpler times in my youth, I hate that his creator turned him into an NFT but I could NEVER hate Nyan Cat
Though I discovered Nyan Cat a little after he was extremely popular, I can relate. I just love the little guy, he's so amazing. I love the song, it made me laugh a lot and I found it so cool. I used to draw him on my notebooks and make my own Nyan Cat variants. Now it reminds me of that time in my life It sucks a lot that the creator is now making freaking NFTs. But that won't change how happy the little guy made me BTW, another jojo pfp spotted
I think part of the cat craze was brought on by America's Funniest Home Videos or AFV. They had a lot of cat videos and entire segments with cats and I feel like that kick started the cat videos online.
I missed having my cat around when I left for college, so I ended up following longer-form cat videos like mugumogu's videos of Maru and his shenanigans. Years later and I follow the adventures of several cat families, including Mejoo and cats, Claire Lovecat, and the house of Rachel and Jun. I also really enjoy watching videos from cat rescue agencies and fosters on TikTok!
i LOVE long cat content on youtube! i never really even thought that it would be a little niche before i stumbled on claire lovecat’ s videos. it’s so wonderful
I was one of those "weird" kids who, in the silent civil war between dog lovers and cat lovers, I genuinely liked and appreciated both. Starting to wonder if this is why nobody wanted to sit with me at lunchtime.
When I recognized the Neko Atsume music, I knew I was home. My favorite cat media is this short video of a cat at a window CLEARLY making barking sounds, until it realizes someone is recording and then it starts meowing like it got caught. I still reference that vid with my brother. Watching this as my own void critter rests on my knee🐈⬛💕
I think apart of me loves older cat memes because it reminds me of a simpler time nothing was complicated it was straight up wholesome and random and brought people together. I will forever love lolcats they represent a time where things were simpler and fun.
fun fact: nyan cat is actually a cover of a song written by someone called DaniwellP and sung by Hatsune Miku! The cover version was a demo song for a vocal called "Momo Momone", a Hatsune Miku inspired character for a similar vocal synthesis engine called utau (*cough cough i make vids using it check them out*)
love this video, the internet cats of past rly make up a memorable and cozy internet childhood :') i also just picked up neko atsume again recently! so cool to hear it mentioned :D i miss when that game got big and everyone was playing it lol
So surprised and happy to see a KK Clue shout out! Hell yes! :D and this video was lovely. I hope its alright to say but its been fun to watch the quality and confidence of your videos go up Dream Jelly! Always looking forward to new videos!
The instantly recognizable Neko Atsume music is an excellent choice. Peaches is my fav, she visited my yard maybe a dozen times before I ever got a pic of her, now I have a plushie of her. Keep up the fantastic nostalgia content, Dream Jelly!
i was so obsessed with funny cat compilations and lolcats during my first adventures on youtube 🥺💟 your editing on this video was so fun and nostalgic to watch
This brought back so many memories. You are definitely right about a new cat Renaissance. In 2020 my partner and I released a game on steam which was called Cats Organized Nearly. Back then when you typed in the word Cat we were one of the few cozy cat games. Doing that now there are so many it's almost impossible to choose. Super fascinating stuff...
Pusheen is my favorite internet cat of all time. I watched her grow from little comics, to having a little merch on a website, to her first plush, to her first box... to the empire she has now.. im still a fan but i dont collect anymore. She'll always be a favorite. Current fave is probably Andrea
It's quite a different brand of cat videos but warrior cats fandom is pretty big and has some crazy talented animators making all kinds of cool stuff. That's what defined my early internet cat fan era personally. also hi.........i like ur shoelaces too (yeah i saw that...i can never escape it seems)
Admittedly, this was my entire childhood. If you were to name any random cat video on RUclips from the 2000s, I would have seen it. Keyboard Cat, Kitty Cat Dance, Kitty Said What (Probably the first youtube video I ever saw actually), even the more obscure ones like the Rathergood videos and the Meow Dance - I watched all of them as a kid. I even remember when it was announced that Keyboard Cat had been reincarnated back to life as a cat named Bento... yes, that was the actual explanation that was given. As for what made lolcats so appealing, as a kid it was something that felt like its own world to me. All of the cats had different personalities and their own thing going on, and it was fun to watch the captions that people would give them that made it seem like cats were just these tiny furry humans that only wanted to eat people's cheeseburgers and hang out with other cats. I remember making up scenarios in my head about the cats from different videos I watched all hanging out with each other and living in the same universe, because lolcats could after all, and any cat could be a lolcat. My favorite thing to do was watch those channels that had millions of videos that were just compilations of lolcat pictures put together in windows movie maker, usually called "Very funny cats" or "Funny cats 36" (depending on how many videos there were), they were low effort looking back but at the time it felt so new and exciting. I probably got a good majority of my music taste from the background music that would play in those videos too, which I don't know if I should be proud of or not. I learned what Scarface and Hawaii 5-0 were from their music being in the "Best Cat Video You'll Ever See" video. Didn't you? As for flash games, I also played a ton of cat-themed ones. My favorite was probably Flash Cat, which I remember being the first game I ever beat. I remember a Christmas game on Y8 about a cat having to deliver presents to houses that was really hard, even playing it years later felt impossible, and another game I liked called Gutter Cat which didn't have a lot of effort put into it but I also remember being really hard. Never did play Sushi Cat, though. I guess I thought it looked too "cute" for me. I'm surprised to see Castle Cat mentioned in this video, that's a name I don't hear brought up very much. I remember thinking he was so edgy as a kid, to the point where I was almost intimidated. I almost played the 4th game in the series but the game beginning with an image of him calling the player a "fucker" made my 9 year old self close out of it. Looking back I'm glad that I didn't go through and play it, knowing now that the game over screen has real life gore in it and that the game ends with an off-screen sex scene. But weirdly enough regardless of all of that he's still somehow a really nostalgic character to me. Rumor has it that a 5th game in the series is being worked on. I haven't looked at modern cat memes all that much, but from what I've seen it looks like an evolution from what we had as kids. They're honestly pretty similar, but more surreal and with more depth. I think that's a good thing. It's good to see what were once really samey memes evolve into something more complex and self aware. I hope that it keeps progressing from here honestly. I have a lot of hope.
Speaking as a millennial/gen z cusper, cat humor back in the day…it was more of a “you had to be there” kind of thing. The internet was still finding its footing with its humor. I still miss Tardar Sauce. 😢 Also the og nyan cat song was actually a Vocaloid song! Well, a freeware variant at least, but still mostly contained in the Vocaloid fandom at the time.
i love your videos dreamjelly :) also congrats on becoming a cat mom! having a cat irl is like having a little internet goblin doing weird things and being silly and fun near you 24/7 (cubey time 🐈)
I've played neko atsume (Kitty Collector) nearly every day since it came out in 2014... when that music hit at the beginning of this vid I got a fat dopamine boost
I was a Dog Afraid Cat Lover, so this era of the internet was made for me unfortunately. (Also please don't get offended but you kinda give Horse Girl vibes actually)
one of my best friends and i tend to circle back to tiktok cat compilations when we've been on discord call for so long that it's 5am for us. wisp is a household name with us as well, whenever i come across a new video of her i immediately send it to them.
I still remember how big of a thing famous cats were on the internet in the early 2010s. Grumpy cat, Lil Bub, Maru, Colonel Meow, Keyboard cat, Venus the two-faced cat, Hamilton the hipster cat, everyone knew those guys. I wonder what impact it had on the popularity of online cats when these guys passed away, because after them there never really came internet cats that could quite get as famous as them. That and the way youtube recommends videos then vs now has changed a lot, and the internet wasn't as broad as it is now!
I'm so glad Internet cats are still going strong nowadays, I was never really interested in those videos even tho i have my own cats but then Bingus showed up and ever since then he is my beloved internet cat star
Does anyone remember that video game Techno Kitten Adventure? As a kid who was really into techno and lol random humor when I discovered it, it scratched all the itches.
i never really considered myself part of this era so i was just having fun watching from an outsider-y perspective when all of a sudden i remember how much i used to play sushi cat.... crazyyy
SO glad you included the breakdancing sims cat that is like the peak of all cat memes I have seen in my entire life online I use it as a discord emoji literally every single day. Something about it. I see myself reflected in that little guy.
I knew about smudge the cat before it got really big because the owner was in a Facebook community with me for a mid sized youtuber. I remember seeing them post smudge and when the meme got more popular they made dedicated socials for their cat
You used the soundtrack for Dogz during the nyan cat segment 👀👀👀 could this mean the virtual pets video is on the way 0w0 My favorite internet cat, thing, which, idk if youd really count it in something like this? Was warrior cats youtube animators. I spent so much time watching goofy videos and amvs of these fictional cats. I wasnt even that big into the books, but man i sure did know so much lore about how ashfur died lol
I legit do not understand people who hate cats. The only explanation I can give is that cats are largely a lesson in consent. Tartar Sauce was and will always be a legend, I always adored her.
I really love the TikTok dabloon economy trend, where people were basically making up elaborate roleplaying games based on funny cats giving or asking for dabloons
I swear I recognize that exact old youtube "funny cats" video you used in the bits where you're sat at the computer! One of the very first i ever watched, and one i still go back to on rare occasions
As a cat and dog lover my entire life, I'm so glad that you made this video. Tardar sauce (Grumpy cat) and Pusheen were literally hyperfixations I had when I was a child that was new to the internet 😭
I have a cat that is the sweetest cat in the entire world I’ve had for 11 years and he follows me everywhere i go. I love him so much i wanna search for a source for immortality for him bc it will be impossible to find another one like him lol. Glad you came over to cat side! It is strange how cats on the internet was such a big thing but awesome. I remember a Dune cat meme that had “i controls duh spice i controls da universe”
Funny you'd mention Kkclue. I actually found your channel as a suggestion after binging their channel like a year ago. You both occupy the same little purple and pink country in my mind.
You got new subscriber I really fascinated with 2000's internet culture and your RUclips channel perfectly fit for my taste Gonna bing all of your videos!
I have just found your channel (I guess RUclips remembered the 3 times I watched the 10 hour version of Nyan Cat 5 years ago...), but I am definitely subscribing, this was a really fun video! I'm nostalgic even for the stuff I didn't personally really experience too.
There's also "Shii's Song" for an early pre-RUclips cat meme. Also, I believe Grumpy Cat's catchphrase "I had fun once. It was terrible" was originally from the webcomic Hark A Vagrant
Check out kkclue's video here! ruclips.net/video/jeifZYY7bsY/видео.html

Most cat lovers are just dog afraids, that's why I don't respect them much
A video that's up my alley!
on my dad's youtube account theres a video of his old cat spinning for like 30 seconds and its still my favorite thing ever
his account name is russafiii and the video is kitty copter
the other videos are from me years ago pls ignore them i dont remember the password 💀
Huzzah! Dream Jelly kitty video, the serotonin I needed today. :3
Oh I freaking loved Sushi cat it was so much fun!
just seen the thumbnail and already know this will be a banger video
You forgot kitlers 😂 great video as always dream ❤
Kitler!
Kkclue is so fun to watch. Thanks for shouting out! I always look forward to your videos after becoming a fan a few months back!
7:31 What team?!
WILD CATS!!
one of my best friends and i tend to circle back to tiktok cat compilations when we've been on discord call for so long that it's 5am for us. wisp is a household name with us as well, whenever i come across a new video of her i immediately send it to them.
Sometimes I think pusheen is a type of "internet Garfield"
Your webkinz video oddly helps me fall asleep at night and I thank you for that
i never really considered myself part of this era so i was just having fun watching from an outsider-y perspective when all of a sudden i remember how much i used to play sushi cat.... crazyyy
SO glad you included the breakdancing sims cat that is like the peak of all cat memes I have seen in my entire life online I use it as a discord emoji literally every single day. Something about it. I see myself reflected in that little guy.
I still have a grumpy cat sticker on a cabinet at my dads house from one of those things you put a quarter in
I knew about smudge the cat before it got really big because the owner was in a Facebook community with me for a mid sized youtuber. I remember seeing them post smudge and when the meme got more popular they made dedicated socials for their cat
You used the soundtrack for Dogz during the nyan cat segment 👀👀👀 could this mean the virtual pets video is on the way 0w0
My favorite internet cat, thing, which, idk if youd really count it in something like this? Was warrior cats youtube animators. I spent so much time watching goofy videos and amvs of these fictional cats. I wasnt even that big into the books, but man i sure did know so much lore about how ashfur died lol
I legit do not understand people who hate cats. The only explanation I can give is that cats are largely a lesson in consent.
Tartar Sauce was and will always be a legend, I always adored her.
Seeing a new Dream Jelly video seriously is the highlight of my day❤ It's always great to look back on specific goofy old fads lol
I really love the TikTok dabloon economy trend, where people were basically making up elaborate roleplaying games based on funny cats giving or asking for dabloons
the neko atsume music at the beginning of the video seriously activated a neuron for me
cubey time:)
babe wake up! new dream jelly video just dropped!!!
I remember a Dune cat meme that had “i controls duh spice i controls da universe”
i stop watching this channel for 4 months and it grows like hell.
wow, the algorithm is awesome
Im crushed that you didn't mention the miette style of text post cats. Also nearly shouted when I saw tater tot and his bonkers
I have never related to a RUclipsr more. Webkinz, HSM, my brain is firing nostalgia in all directions. I’m so glad I found your channel.
Your channel and content is amazing and is exactly 💯 what the Internet is made for! Im not a cat fan but i found myself pulled in 😅
I love when you post
20:46 i literally *cried* when i saw tater tot in here
Cat.. I’m a kitty cat! And I dance dance dance and I dance dance dance!
Back in high school, I once listened to the Nyan Cat theme all school day... Don't regret that whatsoever!
your videos make me giggle and kick my feet and have a good time overall , thank you jelly
Your videos are so strangely relaxing :)
Anyone here remember the ‘I love cats’ lady and the song? That’s what introduced me to keyboard kitty 🤣
Yay another dream jelly post!
Funny you'd mention Kkclue. I actually found your channel as a suggestion after binging their channel like a year ago. You both occupy the same little purple and pink country in my mind.
Just got home from a 15 hour school/work day and find out there’s a new dream jelly video to watch before bed. Bless you.
You're critically underrated i love all of ur content sm
God those SO funny cat videos!!!1! clips took me back. I would watch that video pretty much every time I booted up the computer
Dang, I didn't know Nyan Cat was an NFT now. Truly, nothing is sacred 😔
You got new subscriber
I really fascinated with 2000's internet culture
and your RUclips channel perfectly fit for my taste
Gonna bing all of your videos!
I have just found your channel (I guess RUclips remembered the 3 times I watched the 10 hour version of Nyan Cat 5 years ago...), but I am definitely subscribing, this was a really fun video! I'm nostalgic even for the stuff I didn't personally really experience too.
I mean, the production?? Dream Jelly you're getting so good lately
There's also "Shii's Song" for an early pre-RUclips cat meme.
Also, I believe Grumpy Cat's catchphrase "I had fun once. It was terrible" was originally from the webcomic Hark A Vagrant
