Mewaii long cats 19:36 are actually really good quality, I own a giant long cat, and a mini long cat, both of them are the same good quality as the squishmallows I own. Very soft embroidery, velvety spandex fabric, and extremely soft stuffing. I very much recommend Mewaii!

I can confirm, Squishmallows work amazingly as both pillows and very cuddly plushies. I have one of those giant ones that I sleep on as a pillow every night, and I cuddle my other Squishmallows too (I have a collection of them at this point, since I'm one of those people that simply cannot sleep comfortably without a plushie to cuddle)
I love my squishmallow but I’m afraid of smushing it because the foam stuffing feels so smushable. It’s one of the most high quality, actually soft and comfortable animal/object themed pillow but I’m afraid of ruining it by just crushing it in cuddles 😭
Pillow Pets has a ds game that gives some of the plush designs names and personalities. It's weird how many of these as-seen-on-tv and 2000s toys got ds games (pillow pets, squinkies, xia xia, zhu zhu pets, shining stars, LPS, etc).
When I tell you I have 6 pillow pets on my bed (although 15 in total) you have to know I am speaking sincerely and in absolute confidence. Squishmallows will never live up to the pillow pets I was given almost every one of my birthdays up until I was 11 (when they stopped showing up in shops near my dad so he stopped getting them), my pillow pets will follow me to my grave, no matter how much my friends may make fun of me for still having them

I have a mini Squishable rabbit named Hylia and she is the best little bun friend! She works as a pillow, back rest, or makeshift phone stand. She’s also a bit understuffed so she can fold up or squish down really flat to fit in a backpack. A very versatile rabbit 😊
I remember one kind of toy that came out around the time that pillow pets were really popular. They were called happy nappers, and they were reversible stuffed animals. They were a stuffed toy one way, and a house shaped pillow the other way. Now there's a new kind of happy napper that's more like a sleeping bag, but I still remember the commercial for the original ones
Something I would like to add as a pillow pet owner is something I found useful with the velcro straps. That being to make the pillow pet hug the seatbelt, which is useful on long road trips since you can lay against it and stuff
I remember sometime around 1998-1999, I received a toy for Christmas called a “Pillow Pal.” It was made by the Ty company that makes the beanie babies. He was a brown, floppy-eared dog named Elvis and I was obsessed with him. He was a great pillow. I don’t really remember them getting that popular tho.
Pillow pet is what I grew up with. I never personally had any but my sister loved them and got many of them. One that I distinctly recall is a pillow pet for the st Louis cardinals, the baseball team.

Pillow stuffies are so, so wonderful. I have MULTIPLE squishmallows and various smaller, huggy plushies for cuddling at night. Anything soft and silky ends up on my bed because I have sensory issues and they help sooth me when I'm trying to sleep.
If you have an ikea in your area, - and haven’t yet - you might enjoy the company of a blåhaj, his surface is not as soft as a squishmallow, but the shape and softness is unmatched.
The mention of snuggies instantly awakened a thousand memories of being hooked on cable TV during the late 2000's and early 2010's oh my GOD (aside from the whole premise of pillowpets)
i had two pillow pets and a mini pillow pet growing up, two dogs and a dolphin. i still love cute pillows like that so i ended up getting the napstablook pillow from fangamer !! love this vid
Even as someone born in 2007 I had one of the Pillow People. My mom kept it from when she was a child. It was my favorite thing to fall asleep with in the car lol
The noise that came out of me when you mentioned Pillow People. I had one growing up (the one the little kid in the example image is hugging actually) and I remember calling mine Penelope the Pillow Person. I still have her actually even if her fabric is so thin that you can barely make out her features anymore. I also have a couple of Pillow Pets and currently use a giant knockoff Squishmallow as a pillow so this whole video hits me right in the nostalgia place lol
I had a toy dog that twice my size as a kid. I named her Lady Bird after a dog in a cartoon but I can’t remember what cartoon it was. It had short brown faux fur and it was the that rough, “fiber” feeling that a lot of vintage plush toys have. The body and legs was sewn into a laying down position as if the dog was laying with its lower body twisted (like a lot of big dogs do). It was covered in cigarette burns and smelled like cigarettes, alcohol and marijuana. I miss that plush…
The nite light pet with the projector is a dream lite! I LOVE them! They’re not so much for sleeping on as putting on your bed. It means the projection is actually over your bed rather than on a side table and therefore not actually projecting over you :D it works so well for me I use it EVERT night and I am 18 years old lol
I'm so unbelievably happy when I see you post a new video. They're always so comfy and nostalgic and informative, and your voice is so calming. I have pretty executive dysfunction, and one way I encourage myself to get up and be productive is only listen to your videos if I'm doing housework. Thanks to you I clean my dishes multiple times a week. Today we hang laundry and cook a meal ☺️ thank you Jelly 🖤🖤 P.S. my squishmallows are enjoying this one too
Glad to know that I wasn’t the only one who had pillow pets as a kid lol. This video was so nostalgic! It’s also very comforting to know that people had pillow pets worldwide :)
I'm a bit sad Moosh Moosh never got the popularity they deserved. They're much softer than squishmallows and their tube shape makes for a much better 'pillow' experience, too.
I remember having a bee pillow pet. (& yes I named it buzz from Toy Story) My sisters had this unicorn one & the dolphin. there was also an firefly & ravens one. (since we had that since we were kids) We still have them & sure the squishmellows are cool but after seeing this wow this is really something. But I’m surprised that you made a video of one of my childhood things. I love looking at the past & thank you for making this.
Pillow Pets are still cooler than Squishmallows because most Pillow Pets have soft fur and you can fold/unfold them. I already have 2 Pillow Pets and I'm considering adding a 3rd one to my collection.
My sisters a Squishmallow fanatic. Those plushies are the reason she even makes her bed. She tried to get a hammock added to the wall of her bed for the Squishmallows. The reason she wanted the hammock was she saw a video of someone who’s boyfriend made them a hammock for their Squishmallow, so she wanted that too
My pillow pet went unwashed for a few weeks and because I slept on my stomach at night it induced my first ever asthma attack and sent me to the hospital ❤
I liked my PillowPet just fine as a kid but Squishmallows are definitely the evolved improvement. I use one of the big ones as a pillow and I’ve never slept so good lmao
i always wanted a squishable growing up but they were really hard to find online/internationally. it's a shame they never took off as much as squishmallows did and never really reached the same scale :(. i preferred the slightly firmer stuffing of the squishables & i liked how diverse they are in the general shapes/sizes without compromising on their Vibes on the other hand, im glad they're not insane mass collector items now at the least- i looooove my plague doctor squishable so much
there was actually something that came before Squish called Happy Nappers (not the sleeping bags, the original ones) which was a pillow that became a stuffed animal when you took them out of their home i feel like i was the only person in the world who actually had one since you can never find them anymore not even in nostalgia/kidcore (i unfortunately dont own mine anymore i had the dog) so hopefully these can resurface and become popular again through nostalgia/kidcore i also have the wild fox pillow pet i got 6 years after losing my snuggly puppy pillow pet i literally named Snuggles and i definitely plan on getting him back when i can
Tbh, my favorite "throw animal" was always Squishables; a lot of them do have plastic eyes and noses, but ever since i was little i loved them, only ever had two though :'D i honestly prefer the designs and the fluffiness over Squishmallows, i never even really liked Squishmallows even though i absolutely love stuffed animals
My daughter is 17 and still has her unicorn pillow pet she named "Lady" (after Lady Rainacorn from Adventure Time) that got when she was 3! It has many "surgeries" and she swears Lady is going to college with her. She tells me she can't sleep without her.
I actually have two, and coincidentally they're the same ones as the kid on the bed XD the fox and pineapple. Highly do recommend them, for comfort if not for the cuteness!!! For real one of the most comfy things made.
I remember my grandma used to have a ladybug pillow pet. My sister said we used to have a bee pillow pet but I only remembered the ladybug. Sadly I don't know where the ladybug pillow pet is at, I hope I can find it one day.
I had the bumblebee pillow pet and the butterfly dreamlite. I was 4 when my mom surprised me with the dreamlite. She brought it to my grandmother's house when she came to pick me up after work.
I just gotta say, I am so happy every time you post. It is no surprise at all that you have popped off in views and I am so proud to be one of your first 50k subscribers because no doubt you're gonna be gaining like crazy over the next few months. Keep up the great work Dream Jelly!
I think another reason squishmallows are popular is because they have different sizes and therefore different prices. The 7’ ones at 5 below are under $6 and more affordable and easier for people to be able to afford them
I was bedridden yesterday and binge watched every single one of your videos in a feverish haze, so, yay another video to consume! One of my friends spent like an entire month trying to get a strawberry cow pillow pet because everyone kept ordering it, he finally got it awhile back and I'm jealous.
I think I was given a pillow person (or a knock off) around 1994 after my surgery(I was 4yrs) you have unlocked an old memory. I bought my unicorn pillow pet in my 20s, I was feeling lonely and nostalgic and it was an impulse. Nora the unicorn now sits on my bed and usally gets layed on by my doggo.
Growing up I wanted a pillow pet so bad but my family was pretty poor at the time so I didn’t get one for a while, but I finally got a ladybug pillow pet that I loved so much. However many years later when I moved out, my mom got me a strawberry cow pillow pet and I’ve slept with it almost every night since. Probably my most cherished item
I never had a pillow pet because they were too expensive for my parents (as low income) but my dad got me a knock pig pillow pet and I was like 4/5 years old and I didn’t know the difference lol, but I remember loving a bee “pillow pet” until I grew out of it at age 12-ish
I’m 23 and still sleep with a pillow pet every night. It started as just a toy but now it’s the perfect pillow to wrap my arms around as a side sleeper
I had a dolphin pillow pet when I was a kid that I loved and used until it was absolutely destroyed! As an adult, I haven't gotten into squishmallows at all (I think their designs are a little too minimalist for me), but I do have a couple of official sleeping pokemon plushies that work great as pillows! I have a big sleeping Pikachu thats more like a traditional pillow, and a smaller sleeping yamper thats really easy to hold. I think it's interesting to see when brands choose to collab directly with throw animal companies, and when they decide to try and make their own version of the product and see how successful it is.
I still have my ladybug pillow pet, as well as a peewee version of her as well. I forget about them a lot at the top of my closet, but this video reminded me about them and brought me back to my childhood. I love your videos because they talk a lot about the history of interesting subjects that always intrigue me, even if I don't realize it. Keep up the good work!
my first birthday was around when pillow pets took off, (being born in late 2009) so i had literally ALL the pillow pets. i loved them. im not really sure what happened to all of them, but i have one left thats bully the bulldog!! 😂
I’ve had the same Pillow Pet Night Light (purple butterfly) since 2013. There’s battery acid on the inside and the button doesn’t click anymore, so you have to press it just the right way to turn it on. Still works just fine, lol. Needs batteries every once in a while, but that’s normal, and when there’s new batteries inside it’s pretty blinding. Also, I own about four Squishmallows, but I can see why people would like them and why they’re so popular. I mean, they’re cute, marshmallow-shaped animal plushies with smiley faces on them. What’s not to like? Edit: WAIT THATS WHAT THE VELCROS FOR TO MAKE IT INTO A PET🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
I remember getting the Unicorn pillow pet, and being the first of my friends to get one. One friend also got a unicorn, and one got the ladybug and her little sister got the pee wee ladybug pillow pet. Another friend got a knock off black cat and it wasn't as plush as the real ones. I loved petting mine, and I remember taking it to my first sleepover. I still have it, and I don't think I will ever get rid of it. Also, who could forget the advertisements! "It's a Pillow. It's a Pet. It's a Pillow Pet!" 💗
I love squishmallows but recently I'm craving plushies with more details :( I love how soft they are but I dislike that most have the same face and similar form. I'd also love to have more freedom of choice as whenever I look for plushies I can't find something other than squishies 😞
still a huge fan of pillowpets, i remember hugging my cow pillowpet late at night when i was little when i couldn't sleep and was scared of the dark, and would imagine it being my mom because i missed her when visiting my dads. even all these years later, i still really enjoy them, and have bought a couple even now that im an adult. 10/10 love the product
Another "throw animal" I recommend are Meowchis by Tasty Peach Studios! They're cats combined with mochis, and are small bean-shaped pillows. Though firmly stuffed, I think they make great sleep companions.
I remember I had a pastel unicorn pillow pet BUT it had a hard plastic light projector on its back to project stars onto the ceiling……so I couldn’t even use it as a pillow but I remember I thought it was really cool though 😎
remember everyone, there's nothing wrong with hanging onto your beloved plushies, studies have shown they're beneficial to your mental health, and it can actually be harmful to get rid of them before you're ready. obviously, don't go hoarding dangerous amounts, but it's okay and healthy to have a few with you when you sleep.
My bedroom is just random stuff 😅 all of my stuff is in my room so style isn’t a priority of mine. I’m not a minor and I don’t live with my parents. This is just my living situation right now.
I grew up with Pillow Pets and they were a massive part of my childhood. My parents didn’t like buying me toys so it was an honour when they got me one single pet. I still have it about 12 years later - and I still use it as a pillow! I also recently worked in a toy store for a few months, and Squishmallows were our biggest seller. We had shelves and shelves of them and people would come from all over the city to get the specific one they wanted. The fox-apple thing was very popular. I love Squishmallows and I loved working with them, but the big ones were like $50 at our store and I’m not paying that for them lol.
am i the only one that has a weird hatred of squishmallows? Like idk if its the texture or the over simplified designs or the false sense of rarity but something about them makes me feel an intense rage that i didn't know i had in me lol

I think Ladybird the dog came from King of the Hill.
King of the Hill!
I remember my ladybug pillow pet- she was one of my favorite toys! Now I have a big cow Squishmallow 😂
Poison mushroom pfp!
I only got the normal sized cow :(
My grandma got me a pillow pet years ago for my birthday when I was 5 or 6...I miss my grandma so much. Everytime I use it or see it, I think of her.
I still have my pillow pet that my grandma got me for Christmas. It was the penguin one and still lovely
This is the first time I've heard of the pillow people im obsessed they're so cute oh my godddd
Polygon donut?
I'm so unbelievably happy when I see you post a new video. They're always so comfy and nostalgic and informative, and your voice is so calming. I have pretty executive dysfunction, and one way I encourage myself to get up and be productive is only listen to your videos if I'm doing housework.
Thanks to you I clean my dishes multiple times a week. Today we hang laundry and cook a meal ☺️ thank you Jelly 🖤🖤
P.S. my squishmallows are enjoying this one too
Glad to know that I wasn’t the only one who had pillow pets as a kid lol. This video was so nostalgic! It’s also very comforting to know that people had pillow pets worldwide :)
Pillow pets where a BANGER
@@lovelydolltime8006 Honestly Same I can agree with you & I know I don’t hug mine a lot but I’m currently trying btw
I still prefer Pillow Pets. They were my childhood and I want to get a 3rd one at some point.
You make the best content! Please keep making niche videos like this it's my life blood
I agree
Boy is my oversized Snorlax plush more comfortable than my actual pillow. I've really spent at least 3 nights sleeping with my head on him.
I love your videos and how much effort and care you put into them, I hope you reach 100k soon! you definitely deserve it, much love ☺️💗
It's completely bonkers, but the California Raisins were a HUGE deal back in the day. It was weird as hell.
i always wanted a squishable growing up but they were really hard to find online/internationally. it's a shame they never took off as much as squishmallows did and never really reached the same scale :(. i preferred the slightly firmer stuffing of the squishables & i liked how diverse they are in the general shapes/sizes without compromising on their Vibes
on the other hand, im glad they're not insane mass collector items now at the least- i looooove my plague doctor squishable so much
Dude same! I remember around the time Squishables first became a thing and i still love them, such a shame they never took off like Squishmallows did
YES I MISS THEM
They have an official website!
i love squishables!! i have the plague doctor one too :D
My teacher has a ginormous moth squishable, and a friend has a dragon squishable on his backpack
I have like 50 stuffed animals that cover my bedroom, so I sleep in my parents' bedroom instead.
Congrats on the video and sponsorship! keep at it! love all the vids,
there was actually something that came before Squish called Happy Nappers (not the sleeping bags, the original ones) which was a pillow that became a stuffed animal when you took them out of their home i feel like i was the only person in the world who actually had one since you can never find them anymore not even in nostalgia/kidcore (i unfortunately dont own mine anymore i had the dog) so hopefully these can resurface and become popular again through nostalgia/kidcore
i also have the wild fox pillow pet i got 6 years after losing my snuggly puppy pillow pet i literally named Snuggles and i definitely plan on getting him back when i can
Tbh, my favorite "throw animal" was always Squishables; a lot of them do have plastic eyes and noses, but ever since i was little i loved them, only ever had two though :'D i honestly prefer the designs and the fluffiness over Squishmallows, i never even really liked Squishmallows even though i absolutely love stuffed animals
Yeah squishmallows don't really have a good texture to their squish
I absolutely adored my night light unicorn pillow pet
I actually still own my nightlight pillow pet from when I was younger 😭❤
I remember getting my first Pillow Pet! It was a unicorn. I was given another unicorn shortly after. I still have them.
Ikea shark and bear are still the best pillow/toy combo
I remember seeing ads for pillow pets back in the days. Interesting to see what came before and what has been since then.
The 7’ ones at 5 below are under $6 and more affordable and easier for people to be able to afford them
fun fact: my school gave out lady bug pillow pets the the entire elementary and middle school group It was so exciting
i have two pillow pets that was gifted to me when i was 7 years old, seeing it now after many years gives me nostalgia..
I was bedridden yesterday and binge watched every single one of your videos in a feverish haze, so, yay another video to consume!
One of my friends spent like an entire month trying to get a strawberry cow pillow pet because everyone kept ordering it, he finally got it awhile back and I'm jealous.
dude.
i hope you're feeling better and healthier now ❤️💐
@@froggywithaheart just saw this now, thank you, I am feeling a whole lot better 🤗
This made me dearly miss my pillow pet. Thanks for the memories!
Let's not forget this classic:
_They're happy_
_Happy Nappers_
_They'll make all your dreams come true..._
The thumbnail feels like an absolute call out. I went from pillow pets to squishmallows
I remember seeing cute little adds of Pillow Pets, so nostalgic
I think it's interesting to see when brands choose to collab directly with throw animal companies, and when they decide to try and make their own version of the product and see how successful it is.
pillow pets are definitely my favorite - squishmellows have that funko pop kinda look to me lol
I really hope this channel continues to grow. Keep up the great work!
I remember having a night light pillow pet and my cousin had a normal ladybug one.
The night lights were called dreamlites
I still have my ladybug pillow pet, as well as a peewee version of her as well. I forget about them a lot at the top of my closet, but this video reminded me about them and brought me back to my childhood. I love your videos because they talk a lot about the history of interesting subjects that always intrigue me, even if I don't realize it. Keep up the good work!
I have a pillow pet (the unicorn) I’ve had it forever now and it’s genuinely my favourite plushie it’s great
I have that one too I got it one time when I was sick or something.
See a perfect solution for all these 'issues' is this wonderful thing called a Djungelskog
my first birthday was around when pillow pets took off, (being born in late 2009) so i had literally ALL the pillow pets. i loved them. im not really sure what happened to all of them, but i have one left thats bully the bulldog!!
I have a pillow pet the ladybug one found him in a thrift store and hes actually a pretty nice pillow 👍
We all had a pillowpet growing up, but now my brother collects squishmallows
First thing I ever spent my own money on was a small pillow pet and a pack of gum. Still have it to this day 😌
What kind?
@@quinn799 it's a cow
Glad I'm not the only one out there who feels the same exact way. Pillow Pet supremacy!!!
Got the Pikachu Squishmallow a few days ago and he’s SO soft, it’s replaced my Pikachu backpack plush but I still play with it
