    Would you ever install hood vents ? I think I am going to make some holes in the hood and cover with vents cuz my engine gets HOT

    • @TheMinuteMasters

      I did seriously consider hood events at one time. However, since I was a Memorial clearances on the four seasons, I think they would be overkill. I’ve seen guys that live in places like Florida or Arizona add them and I think that was a good idea. If your cooling system isn’t keeping up I would probably look at making sure everything is functioning properly.

    This reminded me, I'm having a possible issue with my truck. At slow speeds going over a speed bump or an aggressive stop at a stop sign, I'm feeling a shift under/in front of my seat and hearing a noise. The noise is kind of hard to explain. Its like if you had bad suspension maybe a bad ball joint? All my suspension was new about 5 years ago (20,000 miles) except the springs and shocks which are 2 years old (4,000 miles). I don't drive much. Any idea what it might be?

    • @TheMinuteMasters
      @TheMinuteMasters  Год назад

      Assuming all the suspension parts are new including bushings, I would check engine and transmission mounts. I know my transmission mount bolts get loose over time.

    • @BLueFeaTHeRedOliVeS
      @BLueFeaTHeRedOliVeS Год назад +1

      @TheMinuteMasters that's a good call! I just had my transmission rebuilt, and it didn't start making the noise til I got it back. Maybe that's the culprit you think? Is there a torque spec that you know off hand? If not, I'll try and find it

    • @TheMinuteMasters
      @TheMinuteMasters  Год назад

      @@BLueFeaTHeRedOliVeS I don’t know the spec off hand. I always consult my Haynes manual.

    My 93' XLT 150 needs this. It has run poorly during rain events in the past, and I think it's because water leaks into the MAP sensor which is directly underneath the seal (thanks Ford!)
    I'm replacing it before winter.

    Nice. I wonder if it would be worth adhering it to the bulkhead with a bead of black silicone so that water can’t get behind it at all. I think mine is past its best, too. I also really need to get new door window seals and probably new seals for the doors themselves, as well.
    Seeing all the debris behind the seal reminds me that I’ve heard people going on about debris collecting behind a panel at the bottom of the engine bay that covers the inner fenders, maybe? Be good if you could do a video on all the areas that stuff can collect and eat away at your bodywork when it gets wet. As well as seals etc to keep on top of to stop the same thing. 👍🏻

      yeah i was thinnking the same thing. use some sealant on the mating surface and on the inside edge.

    Help anyone? I'm brand new here so not sure if anyone will read this but I've had a problem for YEARS on my 1991 Ford F250 7.5 gas automatic truck. When cold, it fires right up. If I drive in the summer to the store, get a drink, come back to the truck to leave, the truck will not start. I must wait about 10-15 minutes then it will usually fire. SO frustrating, I now get gas without turning off the engine due to this problem. Anyone??? Thank you very much!

    • @TheMinuteMasters
      @TheMinuteMasters  Год назад

      Welcome man!🤙 I would read your codes and check your fuel pressure.
      Does this happen only in the summer?

    • @joshuamyers8483
      @joshuamyers8483 11 месяцев назад +1

      Is it fuel injected? If so, check for injector pulse at the injector when crank/no start condition arises. I had a Tacoma, and the ecm was getting too hot from heat soak off the engine when sitting after driving because of its location, and the injector drivers on the board were overheating. Try putting an ice pack wrapped in a towel on the ecm to cool it down and see if the truck fires. It's a long shot, but happened in my case.
