    I did this job last summer with blue LEDs and it came out great! Didn't even have to crack it open and scrape the green tint off.
    Edit: I also changed the other indicator lights in the cluster (turn signals, 4x4, etc) but you want to keep the ABS and airbag lights incandescent because if you put an LED in those, they'll stay on and won't turn off.

    • @TheMinuteMasters
      @TheMinuteMasters  3 года назад +1

      Nice! I’ve heard of people doing that but they also had to scrape the green off.
      Good to know. I’ve kept my other indicator lights incandescent for that reason. Not that I knew it would stay on but mostly because I know LEDs can cause some circuit issues.

    I replaced all my guage lights with LED a couple years ago. I went with blue for the main lights and color matched the others (green for turn signals), but I got the wrong ones and they are not very bright. and the dim function doesn't work as well. At least with the LED's I got. I think that the 4x4 light on mine didn't like the LED and stayed on all the time so it is a regular bulb. I have just been to lazy to pull the dash apart again and get brighter LED's. Summer project!!!

      If some of the lightbulbs don’t work at first, try an incandescent bulb. If that works, then you need to reverse the orientation of the LED bulb for some reason LED bulbs are position sensitive.

    I put led’s in 96 Nissan hardbody and it started smoking from behind the dash why?

    • @TheMinuteMasters
      @TheMinuteMasters  2 года назад

      It could be that there’s not enough resistance. From what I’m told (and I’m not an electrical expert), The resistance flow of electricity through a standard incandescent bulb is higher than a LED bulb. Basically my understanding is it takes less power to light up an LED bulb. This efficiency sometimes causes some systems to act up or think the bulb is bad. Did your gauges at least light up?
