      Hey, if you ever want any advice on anything you come across with your 92, feel free to message me. In the past two years, I rebuilt both my engine and tranny, with a number of upgrades, on my 92 F250 5.0 rear wheel drive. Did all the work myself, except for the core parts of the engine, which were done by a machine shop. Have also replaced many of the things that Stevie talks about in his videos...patched floor, new carpet, reupholstered bench seat, bushings, bearings, steering components, and so on. Once you do all that, you pretty well know the truck inside out.

    Great video! I've seen these headlights before on an F150 forum, but I really enjoyed seeing your review of them!! I think I might just have to get some... One suggestion though, you might want to put in LED bulbs in the rest of the front lights (other than headlight), and tail lights too. I did that to my 95 Eddie Bauer F150 and they look great!

      @TheMinuteMasters  3 года назад

      Thanks Clint!🤙 I appreciate it! I used to see them on a OBS ford Facebook page and knew I had to go that route. They are steep in price but they are worth it.
      I’ll have to look into that. I’m definitely not apposed to switch everything over to LEDs. I do know you have to install resistors at some of the lights to make sure other electrical parts of the work properly.

    Pro Tips, remove the plastic core support, all the bolt are easy to get to. It will 100% save time and frustration trying to remove/reinstall the headlight retaining clips.
    Second, try to save the FACTORY headlight retaining clips. Aftermarket ones use a thinner steel (basically junk). It will cause headlights to bounce around.
    Third, SAVE the FACTORY headlight adjustment screw/assembly. All aftermarket one are junk and will break apart.

    Great video, Stevie! Even though headlights are a bit of a fuss to get out, they're no comparison to the nightmare on newer vehicles...lol. Question for you....have you ever replaced the fan clutch...and are you still using an essentially stock fan clutch, or did you upgrade to heavy duty or extreme duty? After my engine and tranny rebuild, I installed an extreme duty fan clutch which, in my opinion, is really meant for the diesel trucks with the big block engines. I noted that the engine was perennially running cold....which was much better than my old overheating problems....but I ended up downgrading the fan clutch to heavy duty this past week. Gonna leave it till summer and see how it performs on a really hot day in summer. If the engine runs at a nice temp on those days, then I'll just leave it year round.

    • @TheMinuteMasters
      @TheMinuteMasters  3 года назад

      Thanks Joe! This is true. Newer front headlights are near impossible to replace.
      Actually I haven’t. If I was to replace the fan clutch, I’d get a stock one. I can see a heavy duty one possibly wearing out a stock water pump. But I can’t say for sure. I’d definitely make sure your radiator is super clean and your thermostat works. An engineer did designed the system to stay cool during hot temperatures. So something probably isn’t working or there is a possibility you do need some kind of upgrade to increase cooling.

    • @joeidaho5938
      @joeidaho5938 3 года назад +1

      @@TheMinuteMasters Hey Stevie...my fear of an engine or tranny running too hot....is from my experience prior to rebuilding both. At the risk of repeating myself from past posts, when I pulled apart my engine, the cooling passages in the heads and block were almost clogged with gunk....probably from a previous owner using some stop leak crap. I've just been over-cautious in my rebuild. Could be that everything would work just fine with a stock fan clutch. I'm sure I'll figure that out. The damage is slight, in my opinion, if I happen to run on the cool side for about the first 5k miles on the new engine. This is also why I installed a tranny cooler, a torque converter that circulates much more tranny fluid...and tranny temp guage...lol. I'd rather be safe than sorry. I think my thermostat, radiator, water pump and heater core are doing just fine, as they're all essentially brand new. I installed a 180F thermostat....and might also up that to 195F. Will just play it by ear. I"m not panicking at all...lol....because everything is running just great right now. My only negative from the whole rebuild is a hard reverse shift....which only happens when the trans oil warms up to running temp. Doesn't happen when I generally warm up the truck and back out of the driveway. Only happens after I drive around for a good 15 minutes or so. I get that that is a result of me installing the HD Tugger 2 kit...and allowing more pressure to build in the reverse drum for a crisper shift. I can live with that, as I know where it comes from....and really doesn't hurt anything.

    • @TheMinuteMasters
      @TheMinuteMasters  3 года назад +1

      @@joeidaho5938 All good point Joe. I remember you telling me about your rebuild. I definitely second the better safe than sorry. A cooler running engine and trans shouldn’t cause any issues. Transmission are very susceptible to over heating. You did the right thing by adding a trans cooler.

      Hahaha! Actually this set was $500 because I upgraded the bulbs, when with black inner housings, and got the clear turn signals and markers. Otherwise, a set of OE looking headlights is around $300.
      Apparently, the re-pinning thing is a Ford issue.

    $450+ for Headlights on a '95 F150? I think I'd rather have a dual exhaust and save $200...😂😂😂

      Guess how much projector headlights cost for newer f150s. Lol
