- 1996 OBS Bronco Build Video #2 - New Projector Headlights & Blacked Out Grill
In this video we install new projector headlights on our 1996 OBS 5th Gen Bronco Build. These modern headlights have clear lenses and black housing and trim with a projector pod and led projector ring. We also take the old original Bronco grill and paint it gloss black to set the front off and give our rig a custom look. Our build will have a lot of black trim as we work around the outside of the body. Follow the full build at the playlist below.

Installing New Bronco Tail Lights on our 1996 OBS 5th Gen | Full Led Tail Lights & 3rd Brake Light
I am doing my own Bronco I bought in 96. Your videos are a big help in removing some of the tricky parts. Thanks for posting them.
I was always a chevy guy growing up til bought an Eddie Buer edition in the mid 80s add loved ford products. Your bronco with those new front and back lights needs to be battleship grey and oh my what a truck.
That would be awesome! It would match my truck!
Mizer Bros., I love your channel. Thank you for the heads up on the new Bronco. I will be pulling the trigger soon, again Thank You both.
Anytime!
Amazing what a difference the new lights make 👍🏻
Dig it. Absolutely love the White Broncos. I had an 88 and a 92. Currently have a Sliver 94 that I am working on. Diggin this rig. Great job.
Good job, thanks for cleaning up behind the frame. I was thinking that as soon as Sam removed it and Brad to the rescue. That detail earns you a promotion, drop “semi” you’re professionals!
Thanks Bobby!
11.28 you can see zilla in the reflection of the headlight..great video 👍
Great catch!
ONE WORD GUYS...! ! ! A W E S O M E . . . ! ! ! ! ! ! GREAT JOB ..!!!!!!!
Thanks Guys.
I've got a 95 Bronco that's my project. I'll follow along closely. I really love the look of the headlights and tail lights. When I get that far, Im definately going to do this on mine.
Thanks again.
Randy
I appreciate the honesty as I sitting here debating doing this.
Daaang fellas that grill looks awesome! Sounds like it was a real journey, but the final result is killer! Love watching this build!
Thanks Tim!
They look great, so glad you updated.
I wanna thank you guys so much, I just got my tail lights and cargo lights in, and the headlights came today. They look beast man 🤙
It’s like a new vehicle ain’t it?
@@BackroadDriver I have a quick question, I installed the headlight, but for some reason the high beams and the blinker are the only lights turning on. The regular lights are not getting power, and I’m not sure why. Any ideas or errors I could have made. I bought the same lights you put in your description, the only difference is my bronco is a 94.
Could you have installed the wires backward?
@@BackroadDriver yes I fixed it. I had the positive and negative on the forks flipped. The bronco looks amazing. It was an old forestry vehicle so the beautiful green and black looks amazing together. Thank you guys so much, I can’t say how much I appreciate all of the tips and advise !
Looks great guys ! you should put a a big superduty ford emblem on the front .
The front will change again...
Outstanding paint on that grill
Love it!!! You guys rock!! Looking at doing a Bronco rebuild myself and this is definitely giving me inspiration!!! Love your work and attitude!!!
as good as that Black grill looks, i’d be tempted to Black out the chrome bumpers too! just the few changes are Fantastic!
We have big bumper goals… may black them out before we do something totally crazy…
Just found your channel. I am redoing a ragged out 1986 Eddie Bower Bronco . You fellas have done a bang up job ,looks really great. Looking forward to finding more of your vids . Thanks for sharing .
Have you checked out the playlist on this build?
It will be nice to see at night again I’m sure, the old lights looked pretty useless lol , looks great brothers, cheers 🍻
Looks great. Anyone seen Projector Headlights for the 89- 91 Bronco headlight assembly?
I remember how fun those were to put in on mine, looks great!
They are a beast to install…
great video, my headlights came in today, watched this video on how to install them/ tips. did not realize the main lights could be swapped out, being that it is one whole assembly. so i ordered the led's listed in the description, i have a tinted windshield so it is needed for me to see at night lol. i was looking at the brights, seems a little more difficult to swap those to led's so i think im just doing what yall did and will get a lightbar later on down the road for brights
I like it, the bumper kind of ruins it though. These OBS Fords look good almost no matter what you can do to them. My school just picked up a 1993 F350 with the big block as a fuel truck. That looks incredible, by far the cleanest OBS I’ve ever seen.
I saw your bronco at the Super celebration in Townsend Tennessee
Awesome man! I can’t wait to show y’all what we have planned next...
That’s clean!!!!
You guys have some sweet license plates. We are just white with blue lettering, they changed us to PureMichigan now so there is that.
Looks great!
Did you ever put the 2 outside bolts back in on the outsides? The ones that hold the fender on?? Cool build though!
Geat job, that really looks good
I'm bringing a 1995 f150 4x4 into the new age , put a 6 inch Superlift in it with 33/10.50/15s that being said i've also installed new aftermarket tail lights as well & am now lookin at buying those anzo one piece projection head lights too , so aside from the clear coat you used on your grill what shade of black paint did you guys use black ? Semi gloss black ? Or gloss black ? Thx ....Bronco looks awsome man 👈 you guys should think about gettin 1inch wheel spacers for the rear to bring out the track width to match the front track width ...i did it & it really improves the look of the stance 👌
First off great job loving the series. I have a 95. I changed the lights I had a bolt in the core shroud and was wondering how it is holding up with the two outside bolts not put back in. Curious before I pull everything back out to tap and die to put a bolt in. I feel the pain of doing the install put looks good guys keep it up.
Thanks for watching! We've had no issues so far leaving those bolts out. Nothing seems to be rattling or loose either. I think it's best to leave them out for serviceability in the future.
@@BackroadDriver awesome thanks
I thought it odd that with the projector headlights that unless you figure out how to dismantle the fixture. You can't use the 4 original mounting bolts. I did the same as you did with the backplate.
I did the tail light led swap and have HIDs on the front of my 96 XLT.
Not a big of a fan of projector headlights. It's a little too aggressive of a facelift.
Sweet!!
Good job. Not for me but everything doesn't have to be for me. I like the projectors though
I don't see the link for the new led lights . can u repost? thanks Miz bro!! love the channel.
The lights can be found on Amazon for that year obs Bronco. Around $200.00
Sweet
Man wanted his grill to look like the base model should have left it chrome
How has the paint on the grill held up?
Hell yeah!!! GBO VFL brothers
roughly how many hours did it take to install the headlights
If all goes well and your wiring is in good shape about 2.
Really enjoying the channel (own a Space White Lariat sport). Those headlights though...🤢. Now the only way forward is a lowering kit and some 24's.
I had these headlights on my old 96 F150 and what I absolutely hated them. They were impossible to aim and gave abysmal performance. They were just junk.
Did you guys have to change the retainer clips of the headlights? I bought those headlights and im trying to buy some leds.
Simple process sadly on mine the two bolts that hold the head light bracket on mine they just free spin and won’t back off I’ve had hell trying to get them off
Hey guys can you please let me know how you like these lights? I just bought a 96 bronco and need to upgrade to something brighter.
They are 100 times better than stock but a pain to install…
@@BackroadDriver ok, thank you
do u know how to adjust the headlight? cause mine is way too low i cant see that far
Same
There should be a screw you can twist that will adjust up and down. When we do our next video with The Juice I will point it out.
Any update on this bronco?
The gear swap starts at RM Motor Werks next week! We should have it back our garage for more mods soon.
@@BackroadDriver awesome!! I watch your bronco videos to keep my motivation for my 93 bronco alive
We’ve got big plans for The Juice!
First I want to thank you guys for all the videos you do. Helps me tremendously. I installed my headlights with ease. But I have a huge favor, how did you adjust the headlight beam after they are installed
They have adjustments on top. Aim your truck at your garage at night and you can adjust them up and down with ease.
Like the chrome better but I’m old school not in to that all black out stuff
Just a little late
Guys I need some help, I bought the same headlights but I'm not sure if I got the running light connections right.
When I tested them, I only have one high beam (Drivers side).
I'm far from a mechanic would it hurt to switch them and see if I got it reversed or do I need to see if I blew a fuse or relay before switching?
Did you ever fix it?
@@Aidan_92 Nope, I was able to get the initial problem solved, one of my running lights was reversed.
Then the next time I started it up I think I blew some fuses or could be grounded out, made me feel overwhelmed and gave up. But I'm going to get back at it soon.
