    I'm trying to improve my sculpting skills, so I decided to do it on camera. Here I'm sculpting and texturing the Converse Run Star Motion shoes, using Zbrush, Substance Painter and Octane for Cinema 4D.

    before you start substance , are you retopology through maya 3d ? or otherprogram ?

    • @NewPlastic
      @NewPlastic  9 месяцев назад

      I retopologize in Zbrush, I just use the ZRemesher to do that. It's not perfect but it saves me hours of manually doing it. I use Polygroups, Zremesh Guides and Creases to help the Zremesher do a better job

    thanks for sharing a little bit of your process. It would be great if you took us step by step, in normal speed, in one of your videos.

    • @NewPlastic
      @NewPlastic  10 месяцев назад +1

      I know, it'll happen, but i'll need to feel comfortable enough in zbrush before doing it. Right now I feel like I'm still struggling thru and learning a lot and it's more of a practice than a teaching thing. Once I get a hold of it, I'll be able to explain more how I do things.

    • @jessicaT12345
      @jessicaT12345 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@NewPlastic thanks, i'm a beginner and it is difficult finding C4D tutorials that also consider or cater to beginners. Your tutorials are cool, but they are not really designed for someone who needs a little hand-holding, or to at least know where a button is located. ... perhaps in future episodes, you can incorporate information for beginners or novices. thanks.

    • @NewPlastic
      @NewPlastic  10 месяцев назад +1

      @@jessicaT12345 I absolutely understand you! These specific videos are not really meant to be tutorials, more like "here's how I made this thing that I kinda tried to make and failed a lot on the way until I made it work eventually"
      But my actual tutorial videos are still really fast-pace, and that's been a way I do things from the beginning of my channel because I would watch tutorials like that, I just wanted to tutorials to go super fast and cover everything otherwise I keep fast forwarding or playing at double speed.
      But a few weeks or months ago I started picking up Substance Painter and was watching tutorials, and man I felt like ALL OF THEM were going so fast, I was like wait where did you press, wait how do you get to that, and it kinda made me realize this is prolly how beginners who watch my tutorials feel like. So that made me a bit more compassionate about it, hah, but I dunno how to do it differently. Maybe in the future I'll kinda re-think a new way of making certain beginner friendly tutorials but to be extremely honest I just get so bored so easily from everything that I can't imagine myself actually making something so slow paced. Maybe it's also not really my style.
      Oh, you know what would inevitably be normal speed - streams! I really want to get into streaming but I'm too anxious, and I know that streaming would have to go normal speed, for all its good and all its bad.

      @@NewPlastic thanks for your response. I understand and imagine that to someone with C4d experience, seeing a quick "how" is a gem. But if you could possibly do one video in real time, that would be helpful. It doesn't have to easy stuff, but it just shows "I press here and then I move this, etc." Or maybe you can let a display of your mouse button let us know what you are clicking. But a realtime video would help. Maybe this could also be an offering for your Patreon. It would be very valuable.

      @@NewPlastic it’s certainly impressive how skilled you’ve become in a relatively short time frame. There are techniques shown that are intermediate and advanced so it would be great if you could share what you have been referencing to get you to this point?

      @@imcalledandy Thanks brother, I try. I honestly just watch the same channels I always watch, and for shoes specifically just search for "making shoes in zbrush" or something and watch some of the videos. I'm surprised there aren't more than there are but, some of the longer ones have some cool techniques.
