How did I miss this iconic time in music history ? Too much to lay out here … the song , Robert playing guitar , Neil giving his all , Page just rocking in the free world , John Paul in the background doing his thing smiling at it all happening … and then Robert ending off with a CSNY tune For what it’s WORTH … .. I’m going to watch it again now Salute
Just when you thought you knew everything, something else comes along. I had no idea that Neil Young had ever jammed with Zeppelin. This has just made my day . I respect all of these guys A great performance.
This is just awesome. Jimmy Page and Neil Young together on stage - who cares if they're not playing the same song! Of all the great stuff I've found on youtube, this is THE BEST!
This is so raw. Neil is an incrediable musician. The studio version of When the Levee had so much post production from the drum track to the harmonica. Zeppelin rarely preformed it live as a result. This is truly bare bones rock all initiated with Neil. Plants voice comes in perfect too. I love this!
Only time I've ever seen Robert Plant play guitar in a group before an audience. I have seen RUclips video of him playing acoustic guitar while hanging with another musician. He's pretty good too, but when you have Jimmy Page in your band...
Neil Young is on fire here!!!! Totally lost in the music! Look at the faces of Jimmy and Robert at 6 mins in!! Theyre loving it! Incredible performance indeed. Love how Jimmy grabs hold of Neil at the end as he walks off.. 'Come here mate!!!!!'. Thanks for this upload, a great performance caught on film!
i love how Plant is singing high like in the79's. Not the same voice but the passion is there. They were all enjoing. And i like the Buffalo Springfield part., thank you Robert. Neil is a true rocker as always...
You can easily see the four of them were putting all they had to make a great song sound even better! Neil surely was rocking the stage. A great video!
Man anyone who never knew Neil could play like that, well, let's just say he's a very underrated rock player. He can sit in with anyone (& has), and not only hold his own, but kick some ass, too. He has always had his own personal style... & that's what makes him the artist that he is, he doesn't follow anyone's lead, or trends....
I disagree. I thought this was different from any version I've ever heard - it rocked (guitar) more than any other version I've ever heard. I won't say it's my favorite, but I'm glad it exists. Thanks for the video!
I think Neil's solo's make perfect sense, he is playing with passion and heart and having the time of his life and to me that is the best thing a musician can do.
Jimmy Page and Neil Young jam on this!! Great version of ''When The Levee Breaks''. Thanks for posting this!!! I first saw this on MTV in '95. This Rocks!!!
Holy shit! Neil Young, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant together . Blew my mind...real musicians playing real music. Absolutely bloody brilliant. Thank you timorocker.
When I watched the original, after both Neil and LA were inducted, I thought the look on Jimmy's Page's face was priceless when Neil joined them on stage. This is a great jam! Before they took the stage, a clip was shown of LZ saying that they would play something by Neil, but they end up doing a Buffalo Springfield song by Stephen Stills instead. I love how Jimmy Page was not sure about how to greet Neil, but they end up embracing at the end. It is hard to imagine MTV playing this now.
I am sure NY was very happy to get to play with Zep, as they were with him. NY is a fantastic guitar player. His skills just keep getting better and better. I had no idea these guys all played together. Awesome.
Saw Young live, his solos don't sound complicated at all (mostly one note pickfests), but he plays them like a FUCKING MANIAC in need of an exorcism. You can't help but like it. Love the cover btw, some of em don't work, this one did.
This kicks ass!!! Even Robert is playing the guitar. Not that he needs to with Neil and Jimmy on stage, but I don't know if I've ever seen him play. Neil is badass, and so underrated as a guitarist! Great song with a totally cool arrangement. I like it, thanks for sharing!
oh dear - i love zeppelin but when you are too old to play and sing well anymore then just let it be. i'll forget i ever heard this and go and play led zep 4.
Freaking great, best comment I saw was an old "pure historic saying" it couldn't have been described better, FREE YOUR MIND AND YOUR ASS WILL FOLLOW, flashback to my forgotten youth. To all who describe it as it in a negative light, you had live in the time If you did live in the time and still don't like it, you were sleeping while the best rocked and rolled. I saw Led Zepplin twice, once in North Carolina and once in Frankfurt Germany, Plant, Jones, Page and Bonham rocked the house!
Sorry, to me Neil Young on guitar is more bark than bite... And unless you hear this video through good speakers it's horrible, and even then it's not really very good. That said as having loved the band since the 70's.
Nothing wrong with "wingin it" when you have musicians this talented! Neil brought out the best in every member of the band. Tell me you aren't mesmerized when Robert Plant straps on a stratocaster to keep the mojo driving into "for what it's worth". There IS somethin happenin here. And what it, is EXACTLY CLEAR. Great music is happening here. Love them all!
Neils basic but emotive punk Hippie style is putting heroin burned out Jimmy to shame. What a pity and what a shadow of his former late 60's to mid 70's peak (75) after which like Jerry Garcia, heroin trashed their energy and technique- With out Neil this version would have sucked. GO Neil!
Ooo i don't get surprised very easily but as i just realized that they are performing that old Buffalo Springfield Song i smiled from one ear to the other.. it's not that easy to get it all together what they gave us. Thank you Neil i grew up with your music and where ever it is, there is my home, it's probabely the biggest part of my own personality and thanks to revolution, so i was able to see you in person twice in my life, that was my biggest dream ever!!!
This must have been quite an experience, just as much so for Robert Plant, who has been known to be a huge fan of Neil Young. In fact, Plant wrote "Down by the Seaside" inspired by him, and he often improvised Young's lyrics before this happened, during performances of Led Zeppelin long jams, like "How Many More Times."
How did I miss this iconic time in music history ?

Salute
Just when you thought you knew everything, something else comes along. I had no idea that Neil Young had ever jammed with Zeppelin. This has just made my day . I respect all of these guys A great performance.
Who would think this combo. Glimpse of heaven?
Thing I love about Neil is he's not afraid to play his style no matter who he's on stage with.
This is just awesome. Jimmy Page and Neil Young together on stage - who cares if they're not playing the same song!
Of all the great stuff I've found on youtube, this is THE BEST!
Who cares if they're not playing the same song!
Sums it up very well.
Maybe one of the most legendary moments in rock history......
This is great, Led Zeppelin and Neil Young, my two favourite artists of all time.
Robert on guitar, who knew!
Neil is FEELING this song. I like Zepplin, I love Neil.
This is so raw. Neil is an incrediable musician. The studio version of When the Levee had so much post production from the drum track to the harmonica. Zeppelin rarely preformed it live as a result. This is truly bare bones rock all initiated with Neil. Plants voice comes in perfect too. I love this!

gotta love how JIMMY PAGE, of all people! is playing rhythm guitar the whole time that Neil and ROBERT PLANT are soloing! Wow, amazing! Way good fun.
Rober Plant playing the guitar is rare and with Neil Young on guitar, this version is outstanding. Play it LOUD!
Neil Young acts like he's trying to outplayed Jimmy Page. Nice try.
@@bobgwilt9099 he is not acting
I always do. Rest assure.
Che Plant suoni la chitarra è una parola grossa 😆🤦 diciamo che la strimpella un po'. Comunque fa molto strano vederlo con uno strumento 🤓
Train wreck all night long 😩
Neil Young plays that thing like he's tearin parts out of an engine. I love it.
I spit my coffee out on that👍👍
Neil Young is on fire here!!!!
This is my first encounter with this performance! Led Zeppelin AND Neil Young! Oh my, I am so blissed out, I can't stop exclaiming!!!
i love how Plant is singing high like in the79's. Not the same voice but the passion is there. They were all enjoing. And i like the Buffalo Springfield part., thank you Robert. Neil is a true rocker as always...
Good lord how did I miss this one. Wow that was special.
You can easily see the four of them were putting all they had to make a great song sound even better! Neil surely was rocking the stage. A great video!
OMFG - Not seen this footage until now - Heavent sent - Stage rammed crammed withtalent - It ROCKS!
Brilliant version, Young and Page are just great together
Most insane guitar performance ever!!! A lesser singer would have never stood a chance on stage with those two maniacs!
It's beyond great. Can you imagine how awesome it would be free up close and watching that insane man how can you not love it
Cool never saw this before !
Fuck yeah! Saw Neil last year, he's still got it.
This is TOO cool! Neil and Zep! What a great nite for anyone who was there to witness.....
Neil Young is the daddy of all our favourite bands.
What a Gem! Thanks for posting this. I've always loved their guitar styles, never thought I would see them play together.
LZ & Neil... AND Neil nails it!!! Loved this version
I disagree. I thought this was different from any version I've ever heard - it rocked (guitar) more than any other version I've ever heard. I won't say it's my favorite, but I'm glad it exists. Thanks for the video!

Jimmy Page and Neil Young jam on this!! Great version of ''When The Levee Breaks''. Thanks for posting this!!! I first saw this on MTV in '95. This Rocks!!!
....words can't properly frame the power and energy conveyed in this performance...
OMFG! This is bloody amazing!
Holy shit! Neil Young, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant together . Blew my mind...real musicians playing real music. Absolutely bloody brilliant. Thank you timorocker.
And don’t forget John Paul Jones. He is often overlooked ❤
Wow, two of my favourites combined !!!!!
Epic line up right there...i'd pay a few bones to see a gig that sick i tell ya
Led Zep & Neil Young my heroes of rock music.

Was when he did,'After the goldrush '..that 'Ol Neil',won me over .Anyone in there early 20s and write stuff like that..well enuff said!
that was fantastic totally AWE-SOME, never knew they ever jammed together
My two favourite guitarists right there 👍
I am sure NY was very happy to get to play with Zep, as they were with him. NY is a fantastic guitar player. His skills just keep getting better and better. I had no idea these guys all played together. Awesome.

Love the cover btw, some of em don't work, this one did.
Damn! Had no idea this gem of a jam existed. Looks like the definition of "rocking".
I wish this was better quality!

Fantastic!!!!!!! Incredible!!!!!
"When the Levee Breaks" is great. Led Zeppelin and Neil Young together are rock for the ages. And "For What it's Worth" @ 6:30!
So happy to find them playing together.
But now I want listen to Neil playing the original version of the song!
Man that's what I call heavy metal
Magnificent footage.I climbed the fence at knebworth to see Led Zep.
that was really amazing
Holy god turn this shit up!! Neil rocks hard maaaan!
young allways a tripper thats y he js the grand daddy of grunge
Led Zep make this song their own. pretty sure Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie would be proud to see this!
I love NY and Led Zep but anyone who can listen to this for more than 30 secs has a tin ear.
Jo.. heard your name so often, good to see you really exist. Unfortunately I have to listen through tinny laptop.

Wow, none of you can admit that Neil just blew everyone (including Page) off the stage.
Music on MTV, can not belive it! Zeppelin and Neil rocks!

Hmmm, Neil Young feels the music. Jimmy Page is just a sloppy guitar player (when it comes to playing solos) and a massive wanker.
Neil is loving this!!... just look at his face. LOVE IT!
Page just realized that is not better than Young;)
who is better??? is either of them better than the other??? both genius

COME ON DUDE THIS IS CLASSIC
A true fan stands by their favorites even when it isn't the very best recording!
Thomas Jefferson is a beast of a guitarist!!!!! He's giving them English boys a lesson in the school of Rock n' Roll!! lol.
Wow just discovered this...What a cool Rockin video of some legends...love it. Thanks for posting
Super grupazo!!!!!
i like it,,.heard the original so many times..nice too hear it heavy and chaotic.
That's creative talent.
Waiting for the change? Give Neil a riff &off he goes 👌
Best blues band ever. no contest.
This is just too cool-long live Neil!!!!!
Neil may not be the slayingest guitar player in the world, but he plays with more conviction than anyone else. Amazing rocker.
The incredible P&P, plus NY, and the fantastic JPJ behind, don't miss him :-)
Ooo i don't get surprised very easily but as i just realized that they are performing that old Buffalo Springfield Song i smiled from one ear to the other..
it's not that easy to get it all together what they gave us. Thank you Neil
i grew up with your music and where ever it is, there is my home, it's probabely the biggest part of my own personality and thanks to revolution, so i was able to see you in person twice in my life, that was my biggest dream ever!!!
This is THE best jam ever!:P
This is bloody amazing!
What an amazing video.....it is made even better with Michael Lee on drums.....truly taken from this Earth way too soon.....
love it long live NEIL...stay forever YOUNG
love both these great musicians ~!!
See;you can tell how great a guitarist is even by how he physically handles the instrument.....
OK how cool is this?! My favorite musicians together!
Neil is HUGE Zeppelin fan so this was a blast for him here.
Lol again
Neil Rocks like no other can
Yes ! Im gonna play this in the head phones when i go running as the sun rises every morning . No shlt real music .
there will never be musicians like this again..

You want some guitar work from the heart that will make you cry listen to Neil on Cortez the Killer. Just raw and right out of his soul. Thanks Neil!
Neil makes every band a legend
This is awesome. Three Les Pauls on stage. I wish I could have been there.
a stage of legends
