    Thanks for the video! It is a difficult job especially when the car is on the street or on floor. I am wondering how you managed to do it so easily and on top of that managed to video it.. Oscar worthy effort..

      Yes it is a stretch to get to this install. We did this with our legs kicked out and our head under the glovebox lol. Getting a pad for your knees helps and laying a blanket over the edge of the car door will help too. We also use flash lights so we can see in the dark spaces.

      Yeah, the people walking by when I was doing this must have thought I was doing automobile Yoga or something. Dang, that is a tough spot to access.

      @@jus1taj Crazy difficult. Did it yesterday, the only way I could do it was to ask the gf to help with the screws.

      The hardest part, in my opinion was getting the top part of the filter back up and seated so it didnt just fall back down as soon as you let go of it. I just did mine tonight.@@BansheeFifteen

    Thank you for the video. Changed mine yesterday and was pain in the neck. No disrespect but if you're overweight please don't even bother doing it yourself. You literally have to to tuck your head under the dash and there's literally no room there

      Filterheads I also love how all the metal pipes right by the screws are 1000 degrees! Definitely a job to do AFTER the car has had a while to cool.

    Thanks for the video! After watching several others on this, I finally gave it a go for my 2012 Mazda5. It’s a total pain in the neck, just like everyone says. It’s difficult because you cannot clearly see the top two screws of the cover you need to remove. I ended up going at it by feel, and using the shortest screwdriver I could find. It took me 45 minutes to complete the whole thing (I vacuumed it out too) but at least I know what to do now.

      I owned a Toyota ractis and it took me 5 minutes to replace the air con filter, Mazda got it all wrong
      on installing the cabin air con filter down the footwell, i am now nursing bruised knees, as well as a cramped neck just to replace AC filters, not a COOL affair at all.

      Oh, the things I found in there. Gross!!! I don’t want to know why I found them. I regret buying used at this point. Still a great car.
      THANK YOU for the video, it helped a LOT!!!

    The second (& last) filter installed in the car, in this video, is installed in the wrong air flow direction. But other than that, thank you for this very useful video.

    Thanks for the clip! The design for this A/C filter housing was probably the same inventor of the dental X-ray bite wing: it goes in clumsily, fits in clumsily, and you can't fully see how it's done.

  • @alongthebluff
    @alongthebluff 3 года назад +3

    Can you vacuum the housing after you removed those 2 filters in order to get rid of all dust in the system? Thanks

      Yes we it is good to clean out access debris in the housing.

    The tabs on the footwell cieling panel are meant to be pushed to release, don't need to rip it out violently as shown in the video. Camera amgles were great, video was great, thank you!

      That's the blower motor relay. Mine went out. Ac compressor kicks on but it wont blow out because the relay goes bad after awhile.
