- Опубликовано: 7 сен 2024
- The 2018 Accord will feature two available high-torque, high-efficiency turbocharged powerplants, a 1.5-liter direct-injected DOHC Turbo with dual variable cam timing (dual VTC), mated to either a Honda continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) or 6-speed manual transmission; and a 2.0-liter direct-injected DOHC Turbo with i-VTEC® valvetrain, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission - the industry's first 10AT for a front-wheel-drive passenger car - or a 6-speed manual. An all-new, even more refined Accord Hybrid will be powered by the next-generation of Honda's innovative two-motor hybrid technology, which uniquely operates without the use of a conventional automatic transmission.
This engine is underrated from factory and dynos a lot higher. This engine is a masterpiece
Is it though? Im ditching my 19 ilx. 2.4 dual clutch for a 21 tlx. 2.0 turbo awd. Are they a good power train sir?? Any thoughts wld make my day.
Honda engineering is the best in terms of value and technology.
10th gen accord 2.0T engines will be dearly missed.😢
I LOVE my 2021 2.0T. With a KTuner and 93 octane, it's a torque monster.
I love honda
Vtec turbo, the power of dreams 💪💪💪
things like this prove that different doesn't always equal better
Automotive Masterpiece 🇯🇵
Ditch the CVT and install 10-speed ASAP.
metring073 Oh yeah. The CVT was boring as hell.
metring07
Mmmmm no
“CVT is good on gas”..... bullshit.
Go back to manual transmissions. Cvt are trash they ALWAYS break.
Excellent Design with excellent performance!
Instablaster.
still drive my 1991 accord with 178,000 original miles
My mom drives her 1992 with 400000+ miles on it. Never breaks down
Hope you never get into an accident with these giant SUVs on the road
Thats nothing my mustang has that and its prob had 4 owners not including me bashing on it
For sure mate old cars then we're the shit. Built to last thats why you see plenty of them around. Not so much anymore every company is money hungry even Toyota. When you see all these new honda's and Toyota's with bad alternaters you know somethings wrong.
Volkswagon is trash and has been for a longtime but there beatle was the best car they ever made. Ive owned a few old cars and my toyota has never let me down. Nothing flashy but that doesn't change the fact that I still love my piece of shit Bora (Jetta) in America that doesnt stop breaking down hahaha.
لا اله الا الله محمد رسول الله اللهم احينا عليها وامتنا عليها ♥️🌹
I bought one because of the 10 speed automatic , no shitty cvt
this would make the awd oddysey a lot more fun to drive
Great car perfect balance power and weight
I would rather that Honda USA would have allowed the 2.4 R engine from European Accords allowed in our market..240 hp without the turbo
European Accord doesnt exists
@@norbertkawka7816 actaully the 2.0t accord is a better engine than any k24 or any v6 j series. the 2.0t engine and transmission comes straight from the new civic type r. honda just put a smaller turbo on the accord.
bruce lee better than the j series idk about that, but the others yes. I own a j35y2 and I have put both to the test with a friend of mine, trust me, J series still has it, except on take off, that 10 speed on take off is a beast
@@danielbruno2631 true j series is legend no doubt about that. my friend used to have a j32 acura type s and it was quick. but i felt that the j series was always limited by its SOHC design....if honda made a DOHC j series engine i would choose that anyday over any k20c or any other boosted engine most definately.
bruce lee honda did the j series so it could be mount transversely, and the predecessor c series was a DOHC design. Ai agree that honda shpuld've make it DOHC, however they def push the limit of q sohc and that engine can handle q lot of boost
2.0,Dohc,vtec, direct injection,and a tubro. put this in a s2000
Anyone getting any Gran Turismo vibes with the music?
Remarkable engine on my Accord. My only concern is the electronic waste gate on the turbo vs vacuum operation. Because the turbo gets extremely hot even when cooled and the waste gate is located right on the turbo will the heat have any impact on the long term reliability of the turbo?
damn... just bought the 2017 Accord sport... has a cvt. In want a regular auto trans so bad!!! damn you Honda!!! u better not give me trans problems like I had with my TL!!!
Sae Kim you will be completely fine I put 223,000 on my 2013 Honda Accord
yonda ila+ with a cvt?
Sae Kim I drove it back and forth from Ohio to California like 5 times last year and it's still going strong I have a cvt in my accord
yonda ila+ that's awesome! any tips for maintenance? u do any transmission flushes?
Sae Kim I did its was $250
Man, I wish I could transplant this transmission on my 99 Maxima.
the power of dreams
wow turbo and a 10 speed in an accord, cool. I get 23mpg in my 09 sedan :( , I'm sure this thing can beat that easily
Recently went on a road trip and got 467 miles to one tank of gas, 36.1 mpg. Eco mode and following the speed limit.
rogert151 just got a 2.0T Im getting 19.4 on city.
Ab Mtz I’m relatively the same. It fluctuates between 20-22 mpg city.
Hell ya the type r is neither vtec or turbo glad to see it's not gonna disappear
Is this the same engine going into the Type R, perhaps detuned? If so, this will be a killer car since I imagine you can use nearly all the same tuner parts that will come out for the Type R in the years to come. 400hp Accord with a flash and intake. Sign me up.
This motor was suppose to be in the civic SI
Civic is the 1st to come factory turbo. Now it's the Accord. I can't wait until the Acura comes turbo.
oldtwins still ganna sound like shit
Pablo Herasme you mean the dream car
oldtwins yeah true Honda flash is also an option $700 for more power and torque!!!!
I live in the States but as borned and raised in Europe,we had the Accord type R,here in America,we never get the good ones, just like the civic type r or the mugen rr from japan, the accord type r or euro accord ,came with a K20 engine!!
If only they put the the 10 speed in the CRV ... I hit that CVT
So true man i have a 14 crv last year of 5speed auto its pretty good. But hell ya id buy a crv with tht power train. I have the rdx now for a 1 month loaner. They broke my 19 ilx 2.4 dual clutch. Getting tsx car awd 2.0 turbo 10 speed this weekend.
Love my 22 black touring accord
Best engine on the planet. Honda still cant make a decent trans
I didn't know about that trans. I like the idea of it if it's reliable with power.
Dang, the death of the V6 Accord? I'm hanging onto my 2013 V6 coupe...
Same.. im a honda van.. but ill keep my 2012 6x6 coupe
A 4 cylinder is much easier to maintain than a v6
Andrew, actually not since the 4 cyl. has more parts. It's a DOHC configuration vs. a simpler SOHC 6 cyl. motor. Also, as a rule, a naturally aspirated engine will prove more maintenance-free than anything turbocharged. Turbos generate insane amounts of heat, and in sharing the same oil supply as the engine, the residual high heat transferring to the stagnant oil in contact with the turbo when the engine shuts down ends up denaturing (crystalizing) the oil, little, by little; this is why manufacturers tell you to change it religiously. And, turbos deployed in consumer family sedans typically don't have the same stout output duty cycle as normally aspirated engines. Turbos are rated to get you up to cruising speed quickly to enjoy the economy of the tiny displacement motor. Rrun them long & hard and they'll overheat; not the same worry with a Honda J Series motor. Honda, who soared with their array of flat-power-curve, n.a. engine designs is being forced to abandon the proven strengths of their V6s much like everyone else to conform with the Federal, fuel economy standards. We're mostly stuck w 2L turbos, except for the last gasps from Chrysler, Ford & Chevy and their high output V8 retro sport coups. :)
Snookynibbles tocoloeddie 16 valves vs 24 with a v6. Cams almost never need maintenance. Piston rings do and with the v6 there are 2 more to hasle with. Oil changes are easy and should be done religiously regardless of turbo. V6 requires more maintenance lol.
V6 also has 2 head gaskets vs 1 head gasket with the 4 cylinder
Does anyone know how Honda plans to solve the carbon build up issue with direct injection turbo engines?, does this engine use a timing belt or timing chain?
was wondering this myself. i currently own a 2018 camry xse . Toyota uses D4S injection, which is direct injection, but also port injection, for a total of 8 injectors. This keeps the valves clean by using a combination of the two injectors based on load and need. I’m pretty in to this accord, but this would be a big concern. anyone in the know on this?
I heard the rumor from people said that Honda put a special PCV valve inside the cylinder head to reduce significant carbon buildup for DI engine, i don't know it's true or not, maybe Honda want to keep secrets that don't want other auto industries try to copy their technology, who knows ?
That hold engines sucks.
@@boldcitycc I wonder if the Atkinsons Cycle that your Camry runs would minimize carbon build-up without the extra injectors.
Kory Madigan, you don't want to do that - catch can because if you do, your car warranty is voided.
I love my accord 2.0 T 2018
Es una ermosura este motor
Americans prefer street racers' knowledge for their dream to diving. Of course their 1-4 turbo intercooler engines status n/a, easy damage and over 100 l/100km on test over 20,000 rpm. Their material are aluminum alloy blocks as same as VW TSI 1-2 turbo intercooler engines and same status n/a with failure by their foundations for cheap cost.
honda is best car
Very turbo klass🇷🇺
How easily will that fit into a '17 Civic EX-L?
Im worry about the transmission.. Is is reliable?
It's a Honda automatic.. just pray about it😂😂😂😂😂
Very reliable. way better than the 1.5t honda makes
Waaaw 10 speed
Is a very good engine....is my favorite.
Oil dilution?
Oil dilution=minimal
Carbon buildup=tons
Only on the 1.5
None
what engine is it?
how much hp from the factory?
is the manual coming w the 2.0l as well?
FEED US, HONDA.
groovy fuck at least 250hp/270tq low low
CKPHH that's wrong it's 265hp and 285 torque
groovy fuck both 1.5L and 2.0L will have manual transmission. I'm going for the manual 2.0L. This is according to the Honda website
Hey anyone around are these power trains ok? Im abt to pick up a tsx. Awd. 2.0 turbo 10 speed. Any thoughts wld be much appreciated!!!
Someone message me back in 2025 when these gearboxes are fucking up. Yet a 19999 camry still running strong on the orginal transmission no serve and 300,000kms
This is proberly only way they can compete with electric cars since electric cars only need power
_proberly_
Not interested, i love jdm with NA Engine small but beast high rev and torque, vtec kicked yoooo!!!!!!
Miermana tiene un Accor 2017 son ermosos
Espero no tenga el turbo.
besides the turbo and integrated exhaust manifold how is this different than any previous k series engines?
Weaker rods for one thing. Tuners are bending rods around 400whp in the type r.
OONCE OONCE OONCE
OONCE OONCE OONCE
Like 👍 2.0accord
I'm just curious how much difference there is between the 2.0 in the regular Civic and the type r..
It seems they're very similar and if you wanted to get power with mods, wouldn't it be best to buy the 2.0 NA over the 1.5T? To later fit with a turbo and tune, exhaust, etc..? It has more potential than the 1.5 right?
it's the same block.
K20C1 in type r
K20C2 in Civic 2.0 NA
The 1.5T has a CVT transmission and the 2.0T has the 10 speed automatic. I just ordered a 2022 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T.
Keep the 3.5, I don't want a high strung, stressed small 2.0 engine. Is the 10 speed necessary or is it a me too marketing gimmick?
More gears means the engine is always in the power band for better acceleration and fuel economy...How reliable it is will be another story cause a 10spd won't be cheap...
As for the high strung high stressed engines I bet they don't last near as long older model 4cyl...
I don't think 250hp for a turbo 2.0 is high strung or stressed, the Accord 2.0T engine has plenty of room to make more power considering the Type-R is using a similar or same engine that is tuned for over 300 hp. Honda was one of the last manufacturers to jump into the direct injection/turbo game, I'm willing to bet they did not want to make the same mistakes as other automakers.
Specially with direct injection.
This is a variant of the late model TYPE R K20C engine, correct?
They are very similar. The type r’s enigne code is k20c1 while this accord is k20c4. Both are k series engines with direct injection and turbo charging. The civic type r makes more boost and has a larger turbo. This means less low down torque and drivability for the average joe(still has full torque at 2500 rpm though so its sort of irrelevant if your ignoring longer spool times from the turbo. The accords k20c4 has max torque at 1500 rom making it very friendly for putting around.
Anyone have issues with gasoline blowing past the rings and ending up in the oil?
1.5 NOT 2.0
Bruh can you engine swap these into the 2017 ones, that’d be nice LOL
This is the motor they should've put into the Si... sigh.
Marketing gimmick. no one would buy the type R.
Who would want to buy the type-r then?
Chulada de chuleta
How do I buy it.
เกียร์10 ความเร็ว120kmhรอบเครื่องกี่รอบต่อนาที
Is this a timing chain or bely
Chain
Toyota VVTi and WV DSG
Let it be known.....Let it be said....
The more internals the smaller the internals will be....the smaller the internals are the weaker the Internals will be..

Long Live the Rotary
This comment aged like milk. Hands down best motor they make lol
@@msawyer110 was talking about the gearbox
Just think how much better it would be if it had CVVD like the new engines from Hyundai Motor!
what's the engine code for this
A detuned version of the K20C
K20c4
Honda and torque???? What gives?
Disposable engine, wont last. Long live the non turbo 2.4L
What are the specs though???
Dudee78 Not released yet
Emmanuel Hernandez I see
Dudee78 there is a Honda Advancier used the same engine in china you can look it up
No more V6 Accord?
Matthew Morgan Nope. It'll be having an 2.0T replacing the 3.5L
Honda's actually late to the game--everyone seems to be doing this. EVEN Lincoln has a 2.0 turbo in its big SUV. It's crazy to me 'cause you know the turbo is KILLING that little engine.
Gabe The Director Damn only Toyota and Nissan is gonna.
have the V6 in the mid size sedans now. 😖
Matthew Morgan I know that happened in other day.
Gabe The Director I still prefer the naturally aspirated V6 but I know that car manufacturers nowadays do this to be more fuel efficient and to reduce CO2 emissions.
No more Cvt transmission?
Too much torque for any CVT Honda currently has in production. The 10AT is arguably better, especially if you want performance. Even fuel economy wise I think it's close enough to a CVT.
vtec tranmission
Anyone dissapointed at how ugly the accord is now???
lol
Omg Yess! The 2018 Accord is so ugly 😔
So the accord is becoming a sportscar?
No, both the 1.5 T and the 2.0 T make almost the exact same horse power as the engines they replace.
Creeperboy lol no
Bobzeda so I’m assuming that the turbo is there just to make the engine compact by compensating for the smaller displacement?
Better engine fast
I'm a Honda fan but their automatic gearboxes are pretty poor. They don't last that long. Jatco is make I think.....
Anyone know if the 10 speed has an LSD?
It does not have a LSD. Type R does tho
does not have
1:29 not great construction
What specifically?
the edge of the cylinder may crack at contact with the head gasket
Honda should of put this in the 2017-18 CRV...but to bad they only put a 1.5 in it... suck
timing belt or chain, anyone?
@Kekistani Refugee thanx
좋다!
What's the song name???

The Wheel Network Thank you very much appreciate it
I hate DI system because DI can cause carbon buildup on backside of intake valves which leads to performance reduction overtime. Also DI system causes injectors nozzles to be clogged due to carbons and high temperature inside combustion chambers. With turbo system, it becomes worse.
vtec tubro!
Tubroarcher
V6 is dying lol... 4 Cylinder is the now. Toyota just needs to axe V6 in the Camry and all sedans will have no V6 lol
I will stick to my v6.everyone else can follow the hype ans see how far can they go on those turbo charged lawnmowers.
Kia Cadenza , maxima , Azera....etc All of these cars with a V6
Turbos don't scavenge
I believe these engines are Earth Dreams not VTEC.
They want too much money 💰 for it !
mmm I can smell the oil dilution
Wrong unit, but you knew that.
No actually not an issue. Thank you come again
LOL V6 accord has more potential to be faster after building it right. 2017 Type R got dusted by our 2012 Accord with header, intake, 3" straight pipe and out, flash ecu, stock internals, 308whp street tuned... I mean stick with the V6 honda!!!!!!!!
People will be desperate for the older models just for that J series -__-
Sorry to disappoint you, but any 3.5L V6 with those mods should beat a stock 2.0L turbo four. The question then becomes can the turbo 4 be similarly modded to beat the modded V6? In other words, will a turbo 4 with a bigger turbo and exhaust and a ECU flash generate more power than your V6?
There's only two ways to get more power from an engine, better breathing or spin it faster. Tuners have long ago figured out that turbo motors are the easiest to get big power gains with only a few turbo boost and exhaust mods. The Mercedes AMG CLA45 already has a stock turbo 4 with 375 hp, so at least that much power can be extracted with enough boost and fuel and still meet emissions. Assuming a flash is done to cheat emissions and over 400 hp is easily possible.
The last NA 3.6L to produce 400+ hp was the 977 Porsche 911 GT3, which spun to 8400 rpm. No N/A 3.5L Honda engine with a standard bottom end can generate that. It would have to spin to over 8000 rpm, at which point the pistons would come thru the hood.
People will be desperate for the 2.0T from Accords as donor engines for Integras or Civics and tune them to 400+ hp cheaply to take on Camaros and Mustangs.
lol make that 2.0 N/A against a stock 3.5 2012. Still too far away to even come close to a 2014 if it can't cath a 08-12 model
Seen only 1.5L turbo weakening
Deckless engine. Syrike 1
Oh great 100 more parts in trans ....strike 2
What does deckless mean?
Vtec - yes
Turbo - no
Accord =v6 ....no v6 = no Accord 😿
It's still an Accord to me since my country doesn't get any V6 version of it...
The 10 speed wouldn't work properly with the 1.5T with the low torque, im sure it would hunt for gears.
Gas engines are so archaic. Same old stuff.
Therefore Ibe ectric power is way older and less efficient and more polluting. Hybrids are the way to go.
Electric motors are older and less different from each other than combustion engines lol
买引擎送车壳
Stay away from cvt my friends.
And turbos.
Goodbye intake valves
Stick shift all day lazies.
Honda fucking up they trying too hard and it's not even cool anymore
