Yep, it's a new PC, Lenovo made PC that cost 500+ euros with no expansions capabilities or very minimal, and all other parts costs 450 euros, :/ on sale, already unpacked, but still better than getting some all in one pc
@@ArielGonzalez1 i feel like that lenovo pc is suitable if you want just a simple game console for your living room, provided for playing classic games of course as intel igpu is already very capable of playing games now
That’s very frustrating that there is no PCIe slot. It’s the first time I see this in a small SFF. You should then put the cheapest processor compatible, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB SSD and sell it as is.
I think the same bro :D but I've change the title to be more accurate. Plus these Lenovo aren't cheap and you get no options for hardware expansions :/
Good job there! Given how proprietary the office PC was, going for a new MB/case/PSU and adding a GPU was definitely the best thing to do there. You can still use that office PC with weaker components if you find compatible items to install. Single channel memory will limit performance in games, but 16GB is certainly doable for most games out there. The owner will be very happy with what they have received, and of course there is upgrade potential too.
Are you kidding you built a new computer . Once you discover that there is no PCIE port You have to cancel the idea and look for another computer that biomes the PCIE port
I have the exact same 4060 as you and it's one of the best bang for buck GPU's. I paid £299 for mine and it runs all my games at 1440p medium and 1080p high/ultra. Great video. Thanks.
Actually, yes, but about Lenovo, these Lenovo are not cheap and you don't get hardware for the price you paid for. For about 450 euros I got all other parts... And this Lenovo is about 500+ euros. No slot for GPU or other hardware...
@@ComputersAndTechAndAndrew I think in these cases it would be better to rewrite the script to make it less misleading. Even with the changed title, I don't get the purpose of trying to reuse the Lenovo.
In case anyone's wondering, the model of the Lenovo is the IdeaCentre 5. I already tried looking for 2nd hand deals but didn't find anything worthwhile.
This was an interesting idea. Now you should get the old parts from the office pc and see if you can make a server, streaming pc, home pc, etc. You can also try to max it out and see how well it does in gaming.
me too but makes no sense: lowprofile card are expensive! also, motherboard had be changed one way or another. the modding inside the case would had to be mad hard to be able to install a mini-itx mobo. powersupple compatibility? nah, Im sure that was the best way to expend correctly the money. Yes, the first pc looks beautifull but, the client needed something else ... so, it is what it is.
Very nice budget PC , case was meh, but that is the point! very sad about the first pc, look really pretty and was super-small, sadly the client needed something else. nice video!
Hmmm.... salvaged the CPU, RAM and M.2 SSD from the original PC. The lack of PCIe slot in the original motherboard is awful - Lenovo cutting costs so much as to make some of their hardware near-useless for upgrades.
You've just demonstrated why people don't upgrade proprietary business desktops into gaming PCs. All you really salvaged was the CPU, RAM and SSD, and now you have to find lower spec'd ones for the PC you dismantled or else everything else goes to waste. You might as well leave this PC alone and spend a little more on better CPU, RAM and SSD (perhaps 2nd hand) for the new build. This is intentional on the part of the manufacturers. Still, showing how things are built is always welcome and you are to be commended for that.
What about saldering 1 pci slot on the motherboard? maybe it just work. Another funny method could be using a nvme to pci adaptor and put the graphic card vertically
For the graphics card, I would have gone with the less expensive ASRock Phantom Gaming 16GB Arc A770. It has a 256-bit memory bus vs 128-bit on the RTX 4060.
i think you should put a decent cpu in the lenovo pc for it to be a nice pc so that it doesn't go to e waste. also some nice ram and ssd for it also, did a similar thing but its with an xps 8910 to give it better cooling and more airflow. i plan on throwing in an i5 and give it to someone. the cpu it had though, was an i7-6700k.
Please do not put the ram in the near slot. Manuals will tell you which slot is the correct one, but the usual location is the ram slot which is further most away from the CPU socket.
I kinda liked the OEM case, pretty unique for an oem case, a single stick of ram is a NO NO,is the 6700xt more expensive in ur area?this is a gaming PC build, right?,n that motherboard,u should have stress tested it,the VRM on ASUS mobos nowadays are a tad finicky the brand seems to be running on its brand name nowadays while producing sub-per products
I tried the same but i used an hp motherboard but i don’t know what did i do but the motherboard simply died on me and a capacitor go boom for what ever reason
You can just add low profile RTX 4060 like ETA Prime and get same performance , I don't like this video because its loser money in same performance and thank you.
Love your other videos, but this video has a deceptive title. You didn't save any money vs just buying the cpu/ram and ssd. Plus you have created e-waste of the Lenovo case, mob, and power supply. 🤷♂
This Lenovo is gotten for a free as gift, other parts I got it for pretty cheap. E-waste isn't crated because In that Lenovo now is a weaker Intel CPU, standard SSD and 4GB RAM just enough for office use.
I gotta be honest, Andrew. This video was very misleading. I had the impression that you were gonna convert this Lenovo office PC into somewhat of a gaming PC but all you essentially did was harvest its CPU, SSD and RAM stick and then put them into an entirely new PC with and a new power supply, fans, a whole new case and even a new motherboard. Very disappointed with this one.
Does not make sense. Ram and ssd are cheap. Buying all these parts, might as well buy the rest and build the pc from new parts and sell office pc for more.
😔 terrible choice for the gpu. That 8gb 4060 is one of the worst gpus you can buy at its msrp. It is better to buy a second hand 6800xt or 6900xt, since not even RTX is worth on thay piece of trash.
Actually I don't like most of the newer hardware, mostly the hardware is made very poorly I think kinderegg use better plastic. But for this build the budget was max 450 euros. So the choice was tight as well :D

Only thing that remained are SSD, RAM and CPU. Not to mention the single-channel memory configuration.
@JosianoNunes84 he changed the title which means he has listened to you
Its rare to see you work on more recent pcs, and also screw lenovo to intentionally limit the upgradability
Did Lenovo really released a PC with no PCie support?!
Holy why :'D
I mean, Officer pc rarely use pci express to anything other than m2 drivers, so it makes sense for them to sell you less for the same price
I'm asking the same question too. Last I checked, motherboards are typically required to have a 16x pcie slot with some exceptions.
