- Hi everyone, In this video I revived Dell 7567. It's an older gaming laptop but with nice performances. I had few more issues with this machine but anyway everything is working perfectly now. The laptop was a little bit overheated, but all in okay borders. The subwoofer was not working but later started working normally without any repairs. The main problem was bad CMOS and bad power. Current specs: i7 7700HQ, GTX 1050ti 4GB, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 250GB M.2 SSD and 512GB 2.5"SSD.

In most cases the problem is the CMOS or maybe bad battery ( power battery ) or charger, rarely when the problem is coming from the hardware
how much would you sell it for if you were to sell it ??
I have a dell g3 15 3500 with I7 10750h and 1650. But the temp of the system is reaching 100c in idle in windows. I have installed manjaro on it and the temp are still reaching over 100 c when watching RUclips and the gen 3 x4 SSD can't go over 900mbps. Dell's BIOS have no settings to toggle for the SSD, So I am getting a terrible performance as well as a terrible SSD speed. Tried replacing the SSD also (nothing changed speed is still the same). Service center didn't even open it and asked me to replace the motherboard, That's a little hefty cost to me. Can somebody help meee...........
you did it again andrew! amazing work as always and i love the fact that you take the utmost care in restoration and not just slap stuff together. It takes time and dedication to do this type of work, and i for one am glad that you are doing this.

at 0:25 seconds into the video you say you reset bios and made some other tweaks. can you please explain those steps for resetting bios and steps for other tweaks, please?

Back when this thing was new, I wanted to buy one as a student. Interesting to know that the rubber startet disintegrating after just 7 years
still using it .performes super well..plays games..well not into games that much anymore but workes well either way .battery lie super nice!!!
That's my exact laptop having used for 6 years, except mine is i5 model. Now one of the RAM slots died.

Mine bought from 2018, 1 usb port broken, battery is unuseable and keyboard lost some key too but i plug it with a monitor and another keyboard. Still going strong in 2024 lmao 😢

Old gaming laptops honestly is still a good desktop replacement PC, especially if you just need it for basic tasks. If you can get it for very cheap, it'll serve you for a long time

it cant when put out nvidia sticker. after wash. then back put but cant. my laptop samsung r530. it running windows 10 by upgrade before win 7.. it was pull out windows 7 sticker later. i tried put back we cant placed. i just taped it lmao

good for (very basic) work like web browsing and little content consumption because i am low on budget so just want to ask is this a good laptop or it has some issue thanks 😊
How much does it cost? On a low budget I'd rather choose a used business laptop like Dell Latitude or Lenovo ThinkPad, for example the ThinkPad T480[s] are available between 200 and 300€ nowadays (even with i7 and 16 gigs of RAM), these are a couple years old now but their 8th gen CPU are still officially supported by Windows 11 and they easily outperform that N4020 and they already have USB-C Power Supply.
@@kuchenblechmafiagmbh1381 actually I am talking from India so I currently it's 25K in us dollars it would be 300 but the currency exchange is unusual because it's very cheap is US. but coming back to the point i don't want to buy used laptops because I have faced many issues with used laptops and the biggest in all of them is the battery I know in my cenario I don't need battery that much but it's risky for me I don't want to buy used laptop because it looks good from outside but when we open it and see then we see the truth there are all replaced parts it's not like that with all refurbished laptops but most of them are like that only I don't have time for asking refund etc i directly wanted to buy new laptop and I want for very very basic use that is why this laptop seems to be value for money as I just wanted a secondary laptop :-)

I'm trying to restore an HP laptop, it is 10th gen i7, and reports a Systemboard error (5 long & 3 short flashes) and won't boot. I've tried baking the board at 200c & reflashing BIOS by CH341A. Do you have any more recommendation for what the failure could be? I cant see any obvious physical damage. Thank you!
Try to modify an old laptop with a modern bezel-less screen.
Wanted to get this back in the day but settled for the 5576.. yea, it was pretty bad, however, it was a massive upgrade coming from integrated graphics

After watching many episodes of the UP host's videos, I think you should buy some thermal conductive silicone pads, which are the kind used to cool the graphics memory. Every time I see you reuse old thermal conductive silicone pads, my OCD is about to break. The brands that can be purchased in Europe and America should include Laird and Honeywell, with thickness specifications of 1mm, 1.5mm, and 2mm. The price of a whole sheet ranges from a few dollars to more than ten dollars, and it can be cut into many pieces.

+1'ing the vid automatically for the fact you CLEANED YOUR WORK SURFACE. I'm tired of channels that work on PC's on dirty surfaces, esp old pc's / laptops. You can tell the quality of a technician by how well they treat EVERYTHING they work on, regardless of new or old. These channels that pull old machines apart and keep working on disgusting work surfaces really irritate me.
Very good video as always but I suggest those who are thinking to get the Dell laptops for any category like for Gaming / Productivity because their machines are totally trash after 6 months of usage their machines making random issues like windows lagging & etc. So avoid getting this trash machines. or try to get gaming Pc / laptop from other brands like Asus / Lenovo / Acer or any other brands ! I have experience with dell laptops that's why sharing here
I have experience with Dell laptops, too, and can't speak for gaming ones as I can't stand them but the proper business and enterprise ones last 10 years or more... especially the older ones.

Carbon fiber vinyl trackpad is horrible to use because of its rough surface. You can put another layer of sticker on it like the transparent one they put on Macs, just cut it up first.

Look at this laptop... a beautiful huge bottom panel you can unscrew to easily reveal everything you want to upgrade. Meanwhile, my wife's HP Pavilion requires me to separate the housing, and pull out the whole g** d*** mobo, b/c, like this laptop, all the upgrades are on the bottom, but you get to the mobo through the top. So, you have to remove the hold g** d*** mobo. *sigh*
hi friend, have you any experience with resore default bios on Alienware 17 r2? I tried upgrading bios when fans went to 100 percent and the system froze now i cant even get any post.. no bios entry possible currently... Could you give me any advise? Thank you for your great support.

to remove sticky softtouch (like on old ibm laptops), use dimexide (dimethyl sulfoxide). This is an excellent tool. it is sold at the pharmacy.

Try Petroleum jelly. That will bring it back around apply it on thick and let it sit in you will see it works

hey i have the same laptop and it's working fine except for one thing that is when i plug the laptop to the wall, it does not power on. but then i remove the barrel connector and turn the power on , the laptop turns on. and then i can use the powersupply. what can be the issue here?

You can also use a soldiering iron to melt the plastic to remove the keyboard instead of cutting it, and then you can melt it again to replace it.

hey i love the videos . i wanted to do this kind of customization that you do for a very long time since i watched videos like the toshiba laptop and the xboxs on your channel , i have this same dell laptop with the 4k screen option but i got it in a poor condition , it was filthy and restarted when overheating so after cleaning it and washing it with warm water and dish soap it was clean . i did open the screen bazel and claeaned everything , after putting back together it was still restarting under any kind of stress , after a while i figured that it was a bios problem . i have some question i would you like to anwser if possible :
1 : what is the max temp that your laptop reach when opennig the browser or discord (mine can reach the 90 ) and in games like gta v (mine can reach the 90' bad i know ) ?, because i used a chep thermal past i want to confirme it is the cause or this is the laptop normal operating temp .
2 : i want to respray the case , somthing like the xbox 360 e or even like the alienware red and black you did (because i hate the texure of this pc especially with my sweaty handes and the degrading rubre is not a good mix) , that includes the display farme and top case , and what you would recommand to do on the top display bezel as it mad of rubber and it has couple of holes that are deep so it is not leveled with the back \ top case .
3: i want to get the touchpad a glass feling like the xps latop series as this one is rought , what u would recommend
4: i have a probleme with some keys not typing when trying to type fast , i mean i have to click a tiny bit extra bit to get them to work , do you think cleannig the keyboard the way you did will fix it
5: whould you explain or link a video that explains these painting technincs and what paints i should use as i never done any painting job before and i want to do this on this laptop which my main machin + other consoles

Hi bro, the temps are maybe because cheap thermal paste, some paste will dry much faster or maybe there is some air bubble between the heatsink and the chip/cpu/gpu.
To spray paint the case it all depends of how the plastic texture is. Sometimes I spray base paint, then I do water sanding using 600 grid, then again one more coat and sanding with water but now using 800 - 1000 grid and then I do the final paint.
( anyway, now I prepare place where I can paint and record the process )
The touchpad is little bit sensitive, I have done experiment with polishing the plastic, it's little bit hard but the touchpad has worked after that. But I'm not sure about different models, plastic textures, etc.
And about the keyboard. You can try cleaning the keyboard, in many cases the dirt is the problem, but sometimes the key electronic starts to die and only way to fix it is to change the keyboard
Dude could have changed the "thermal pad"... Cleaned it with IPA to loose the stickiness...
I daily drive a Dell XPS 9750 with an i7 8750hq, GTX 1050ti, and 16gb RAM. Very similar to this. Still a great daily machine with a new battery.

This one I got it from a close cousin. But if I search for something I check pages where people sell their old stuff or some companies that have something like auction. But mostly the stuff that I restore is belong to someone, I just take, restore, repair, upgrade and return.

Wash thermal pads? - Don’t do this, just replace with new ones!
I didn't have good ones for these models, it's better to wash these original pads than using some new and bad pads

An impressive well-done work. Btw for cleaning displays I use glass cleaner for windows (dunno if there is a Mac version). And for stickers there is a solution called Label Remover.
