Love to find this as well. I bought a model with these cartridges a year ago...now it's very hard to find the cartridges; it's a $100 just for the standards!
The newest Brother printer, e.g. the MFC-J1215W available in 2022 use the LC401 etc. cartridges. I don't see the LC401 on your list here and I can't find anything up to date that will tell me if I can refill those or if they are substantially different and cannot be refilled. What do you know about the LC400 series? Some ink companies like BCH no longer carry Brother refill products and it makes me wonder. Their carts ARE a pretty good deal if you don't refill yourself. I am a refiller though, and it is affecting my choice of which printer to buy and there is not a real broad field of low-end options out there, right now.
I did mine from the side top use tape to close the hole its upright so it's ok. i did it 3rd party ink and now its showing its empty when there full did not work. i had to come back here to say if you use tape on the side of the caldrage or in the middle of the window after filling the calreage turn off printer for 2 min and. the error goes away to replace the ink i did it 2 times with Brother mfc- J5730 burn a hole on top of the cadrage with something Pointed use gas to burn it to fit a syringe e to inject the ink slow on a slat. i well happy. that it worked i had to share it with like minded people all the money you be saving. you can get cheap ink on ebay. too refill.
Hi Sorry to hear it didn't work for you. With the tape I doubt it will work. Although as per Brother Support you need to replace the cartridges once it is empty. These are just some tricks by which we avoid some extra cost. Sometimes pressing STOP button for at least 10 seconds when it is saying that "cartridges are empty" also works. Try that. Or use opaque tape instead of transparent tape.
After Placing on the side of the careage unplug for 2 min it worked well happy worked 3rd party inks i also used an Epson cx3200 resetter it did not turn green only red keep it there and try different ways to get red on the chip there about £8 on ebay better then paying for it for £50 for the real one. like i said you may not need it but if the error is still there it's worth a try.
Good Video! Can you do one on how to refill the LC406. They call it the inkvestment cartridge. They are hard to find, and can cost $65-85 for a single cartridge. Thanks!
@@rebeccaa9257 yeah i called around some places and they said that unfortunately the brother inks aren’t refillable! I ended up buying some ink compatible with the brother printer - though there’s a caution that it may void warranty if you don’t use brother brand ink. It’s been working well so far though no issues!
Great, I'll try that the next time I need a refill. My refill place...10 minutes by car from me closed permanently, the next closest one is 25 minutes away...if I fill the cartridges myself I'll save even more money. I think I'll use tape to plug the hole (Hope that works)...I don't want a piece of glue to fall in by accident.
Would I be able to refill the tanks with sublimation ink? I want to custom items with sublimation and was wondering if this printer would work for it thanks!
Hi...thank you so much for visiting my channel. To be honest, I don't even know what sublimation ink is? How it is used. I only know about refilling simply these kind of cartridges. It works perfectly fine. So I cannot guide you in this regards. I am sorry😊🙏
Hi I am glad it helped you. To be honest I am not profession printer guy. I sometime refill office printer and I thought this way is easier and anybody can do it. So I shot the video and uploaded it. Regarding the resetting the chip I am not sure how to do it. You will surely find someone on youtube. Keep searching 😊🙏 thanks
What about the chip?I thought it would report the printer not about the amount of ink it remains, but about how many pages have been printed from this specific cartridge. Is it correct? How would you hack this system?
I have a brother MFC J475DW printer. I bought LD cartridges for my printer thinking it was out of black ink. That didn't work so I bought more from another company. Also LD brand, it turned out. That one didn't work either. So the print head near the black must be clogged. One video said "just take an old cartridge and fill it with isopropyl alcohol and run it . " But he didn't tell how to fill the old cartridge. So I looked at your video. And my cartridges are similar to yours, but they dont come apart. Can you do another video showing how to drill into an LD103 or LD 101 partially full cartridge, fill it with some alcohol and clean the printer head with it?
Hi Abbas, That depends. But to be honest. I have been refilling these cartridges for my printer for years. I don't see any change in my printer's performance. Although Brother Printer or Canon Printer people don't recommend refilling because they want to sell new cartridges. If people will refill like this then their business will obviously affect. So don't worry about that. BTW, thanks for stopping by my channel.
Hi Reski Yonanda, thank you for stopping by my channel. Appreciate your feedback. Yes it is super easy filling ink like this. I am glad it helped you.. Thank you🙏🙏
As per any printer brand they recommend using their original ink. But hardly anyone use it. If you ask your local printer repair guy he will tell you use any cheap refill ink. It works fine. I also use any third party and I have never had any issue. 👍
Refilling ink works for almost all printers. Its just that these printer company never mention that. They obviously want you to buy new cartridges which will help their businesses. So don't worry refill it.

It worked thank you however there are lines on the print. Tried cleaning the printer couple of times already. How do i fix it? Your reply would be greatly appreciated :)
Hi.. which printer model do you have?? Let me know. I don't think lines are because of changing the ink. Give it a time and deep clean few more times. If it doesn't fix then you might have to take it to the printer repairing shop.

Agree. But actual procedure of refilling is little difficult and messy. I found this easy because anybody can do it at home without requiring additional tools.

What type of ink is used? Dye or pigment? I heard some brother printer have pigment black then dye colored... 😊

To all the cartridges as long as you are not breaking the sensor.
