Great video - very helpful. I had a printer that had been sitting for a long time and was not printing. I used this method to drain existing cartridges, add 8 part windex/2 part alcohol to fill the old catridges and did many cleaning cycles until they were clear, then replaced with new ink catridges. Now with this method I will go buy some ink and not have to buy new catridges for a long time. thanks!
The man is a genius to figure this out. All it takes is a few cents of ink to get a $30 cartridge going again but I believe that a reset procedure may also be required
looking at other people's videos, someone posted that you do not need a resetter - simply cover the transparent window with black tape. This will fool the printer into thinking it is full
Hi Atul thanks for the video really helpful. I have Brother MFC-J4340DW ink LC426, I have refilled the cartridges using your method but the printer shows the cartridges as empty. Do you know if I need to reset the chip? If so, how do I reset it please?
LC401 brother printer cartridge owners. The hack is to change the date on the initial setup screen to 2021 year. Then power off the machine and remove ALL the ink cartridges and refill as needed with a needle and syringe as seen on RUclips. Then power back up and install the same cartridges when asked. It will then show them all as full.
@@kazuhakaedehara8237 On the top of cartridge where it is clear. There is a black swinging arm inside to show ink level. Take a hot needle and push through. Add ink with a needle. Cover hole with hot glue
I've been filling my own cartridges since 2006 Epson and brother printers bought refillable cartridges for Epson £16 for 6 bottles of ink, which lasted me 3 to 4 yrs just think of the money I saved from buying new cartridges
How do you clean the syringe to switch color inks, or do you have a syringe for each color? Do you have to clean the syringe when you finish refilling? How do you do it? Thanks for sharing
I have a Brother MFC-J1205W. I bought it because it was affordable but the ink is way too expensive. Do you have a video showing how to add ink to the LC404 cartridges? Also, do the cartridges you have been replacing ink on have a chip? Thank you.
Hi, I don't have LC404 cartridge. But One thing I know is that if you know how to open the cartridge or make whole and close it like I did in my video. All the cartridges can be refilled and reused. You may try. Its not that hard.
I have chips but there is not a chip resetter for these cartridges as far as I know. For now I purchased new ones hoping a reset device will come out for the chips.
@Atul Tilkaan Is it possible to drill the hole at the back of the cartridge? That way we do not have to open the cartridge but can simply refill it without taking it apart. Please comment.
Hey Anil, Thank you for watching the video. In regards to your question, I cannot guarantee what I haven't tried myself. So if you wanna take chance, you can. But I think it is much better to do the hole on the soft white plastic inside, rather than the black one outside. Taking cartridge apart isn't that hard. You just need one screw, that's it.
@@atultilkaan I tried taking it apart - will try again. Also looking at other people's videos, someone posted that you do not need a resetter - simply cover the transparent window with black tape. This will fool the printer into thinking it is full
Hi, brother, I'm from Bangladesh. Can i do the same process for my Brother MFC J3530 DW printer as you have shown in this video? Those cartridges have a chip on the top. Please research it and tell me. Pls pls pls
HI. I checked the cartridges of MFC J3530 DW. Yes there is chip on top, but you don't need to make hole there. You can make Hole anywhere, from you can put the ink in. Once ink is put, then close it. It will definitely work. I would at the side on top. I am sure, it will work

But will these non branded ink give same number of prints as the original ink?
Thank you
Thanks for the video!
Do I need to clean-wash a syringe after each color? And how can I reset a chip on a cartridge? MFC-J1205W
I normally wash it. Then other colors don't mix up.
good idea bro...thank you.

works with Lc401 cartridge?
Please make a video brother ink lc3033 for mfc-j995dw
Do we need chip to reset?
Hello my printer is Mfc-j491dw Lc3311 and Lc3313, what kind of ink I'll use to refill ? Thank u
You can use any third party ink. Although BROTHER says to use only their ink but it doesn't matter. All the inks work fine.

hey bro. can i use the same method in LC3617 cartridge ? my printer is brother MFC J2330dw. thank you
You can use with almost all models.

Did it an only the blue one worked, the other ones apear empty, how do I fix it? There is ink in them but onlt the blue one is detected by the printer
how about regular glue or crazy glue?
Any glue is fine as long as it is stoping ink to leak and you can take it out next time easily.

If you use tape, not sure if will last long or not. Best is glue.

How to reset chip
Why you have to make new hole on the cartridge if already have two holes?!
Yes I get that but that is messy procedure to refill ink. I found this way better. Please choose what is right and suitable for you.
