    if you look at the cartridge you will see a split line where the grey plastic can separate, with some muscle (difficult for you I know) these two sections will come apart. This will now give you access to the white ink egress hole, the tall white plastic nozzle will come off via a 90 degree turn, be careful not to lose the spring inside. Refill, replace white nozzle and the plate, filled.

      Hello Jeff, are You challenging me ? 😊 Give me some time - by the end of 2020 I will have built up sufficient strength for going Your described way ...
      I am with You about separating the cartridge´s housing plus the white part and it´s inner parts from the cartridge. But we have to find a balance for our users. Taking apart the ink egress bears to much potential risk of losing parts (as You mentioned) and inflicting damage to the cartridge.

      We have developed our refill inks according to the original Brother® ink setup - all colors for LC3219 LC3217 are pigmented refill inks.
      LC3211 LC3213 is a different story - with these cartridges only the black is pigmented and cyan magenta plus yellow are dye based inks.

      @@octopusoffice Well, not a challenge so much as an easier method that overcomes the problem of the air in the bag being presurised. Your rubbertip and syringe is still good for a seal. Jeff, Australia.

      @octopusoffice  4 года назад +1

      Hello Jeff, we actually did not hit the problem of the air being pressurized while filling in new ink using the refill tool tip and filling it in using the ink port.
      In the older Brother cartridge models (in Europe for example LC227 LC225 LC223 and so on) there was a one way valve built in. There we had have that problem too and we used the refill tool BroLuer that filled these cartridges using their air port.
      With our LC3217 LC3217 the air inside the cartridge is pushed out by the new ink through the air port in the cartridge´s upper front part - no pressure builts up at all.

    Hi Guys, so i ordered your refill kit from your site (with your pigment inks and your filling tips).
    I must be doing something wrong because I am having the same result every time. When i inject the ink, it goes into a different area of the cartridge completely. Instead of filling the chamber like if does in the video, it seems to go into the air ducts in the bag and immediately the bag becomes pressurized. I've tried it now on several LC3217s and getting the exact same result each time. Any idea where I'm going wrong? Thanks, John

Do you guarantee that this chipset solves the ink cartridge problem? Thank you.

      Hello Alina, thanks for describing Your situation. Please check our stand alone video tutorial for the chip resetter. There You are going to see that also the set back original cartridge is shown with the question mark and full ink level on the printer´s display. This display does not mean unidentified, it says that the material is non original Brother material anymore. Showing the cartridges this way is necessary due to legal requirments.
      From the distance it is hard for us to evaluate where the problem on Your side has it´s origin from. Using alternative cartridges suitable for Your printer should not cause problem that the printer does not work anymore.

      The resetter works for 120 original Brother cartridges - so invest in the bigger original cartridges as You get a better price per reset for the bigger amount of inks being stored in them.
      Your question about the ratio our set vs the orignal cartridges - we see it this way - the price of 120 original cartridges compared against the price for one resetter and the amount of ink for filling up 120 cartridges - the savings by filling up are attractive - of course You have to do some work.

    Using an LC-3217 Magenta. Followed your steps but begin to encounter pressure/resitance from the syringe after about 4-5ml. When I remove the casing, I can see a lot of air bubbles, and the bag is swollen and tight, (like a blown-up baloon). Have I made a mistake in the refill process? Hello Mike, by refilling You have the opportunity to control which quality of alternative ink You are using in Your printer. A good quality keeps You away from running into trouble using for example ready made alternative cartridges that may come with a not suitable ink. Such an ink can cause print head problems. Beside that refilling the original cartridges makes sense to us in the meaning of reducing the amount of waste created by printing. We see the resetter as a part of the refilling solution. Even with the pricing of the resetter You can achieve attractive savings compared to buying new orignal cartridges each time such cartridges run out of ink. Our way of thinking.

      Hello Yunus, thanks for aksing about our opinion about these printers. The HP printers are great and their cartridges are similar to each other. Refilling them is a bit tricky to be honest - for both cartridge versions no resetter is available. So for them You need to have 4 sets of OEM cartridges that You use in rotation inside Your printer. HP is working with thermal print head technology - in general such heads are more sensitive compared to piezo element print heads.
      For the Brother machine we have the resetter solution and high quality refill inks ready. You should have two sets of OEM cartridges, this is sufficient to keep on working with this printer continiously. Brother used the above-mentioned piezo print heads - such a print is more sturdy. From the refill perspective the Brother machine is covered by the more complete products solution - with our inks You can control all the time which alternative ink quality is fed into Your printer. There are also alternative cartridges on the market - but they can be some surprise because You never can be sure what ink is used in there even when buying from the same seller twice.
      We hope that assists You to make Your decision 🙂

    how to reset for brother mfc j3540dw LC462

      Thanks for contacting us about our tutorial. Status per January 16th 2023 is that the LC462 suitbale chip resetter is not available yet. Without that resetter refilling these oroginal cartridges with new printer ink makes no sense as the printer does not accept a filled up cartridge without reset of the chip.

    Why is the chip resetter limited to a certain amount of resets? Seems inefficient and pointless... Couldn't the program be ran an infinite amount of times?

      @octopusoffice  2 года назад

      Hello, thanks for the question. Actually we are on Your side with this. There are multiple reasons why the manufacturer has decided to go this limited approach with this product - You basically pay per reset. The manufacturer needs to find a balance between selling a certain amount of products for getting their investment on engineering back and still beeing able to make a reasonable offer to the customers. The number of resets of this resetter is still sufficient high enough to last for a printer´s life span using these cartridges. The limitation also has warranty reasons - beside the programming the resetters also has parts that wear off during the use of the resetter - it cannot be guanteed that the parts of the resetter last forever. A resetter product built to last for decades would not sell to private customers.
      We offer the resetter as the calculation costs per reset plus our high quality refill inks still end with an attractive saving compared to the original cartridges.
      We hope that answers Your question 🙂
