Will The C8 CORVETTE Make More Power After 500 Miles? DYNO TEST
HTML-код

- We made power pulls before the "break in" period and after to see if there really is a difference in power once the C8 Corvette hits 500 miles & the RPM gauge opens up to full range.

Thank you for not putting in endless banter and chatter like every other blogger on RUclips. Just subscribed.
i realize it's kind of randomly asking but do anybody know a good place to watch newly released series online?
@Nova Nikolas lately I have been using flixzone. You can find it on google =)
@Xzavier Adonis Yup, have been using FlixZone for since march myself :)
@Xzavier Adonis thank you, I went there and it seems like a nice service :) I really appreciate it!!
@Nova Nikolas Happy to help :D
Nice work, straight to the point. I was out Sunday morning cruising in my 1990 ZR-1, and met a white C8 at a stop light. Badass ride, the first time I've seen one in the wild. You guys ROCK. 👍👍🏁
Chevy and the Corvette engineers really did their homework with this car, I've seen videos of owners of exotics who sampled the car and said if they would close their eyes, they would think they were in an exotic, never thought i live the day to see or hear that.
The car is amazing
It’s amazing how GM made an old-fashioned cam-in-block engine rev like a twin-cam. These things never run out of power until the rev limiter!
I believe that GM is reducing the torque by 30% in low gears which would not show in a dyno test in 4th gear.
Yeah?
Thank you for being quick to the point ,
“Hey Ferris!!”
“Yeeaah”
“The miles aren’t coming off!”
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
First thing that came to mind watching the cruise to 500mi. on the dyno.🤣
The 495 hp rating is at the crankshaft with engine not installed. Chassis dynos measure rear wheel hp. Unfortunately, 8 speed dual clutch has no ratio that is straight through one to one. The choice of 4th gear while slightly over driven at 0.88 is the nearest choice. Perhaps this is accounts for the almost a hundred foot pounds of torque to seems to be missing.
Great video, TY🇺🇸👊
Why did you need to put the dyno in AWD mode, given that the C8 isn't an AWD vehicle?
The car has modules that freak out if you don't. Some Mercedes(and other brands) are the same way...
Yeah What Crimson King Said
@@speedsociety 🤘😎
@@crimsonking8746 Thanks! First I've come across this. Cheers!
@@willecutlip - I have been stalking(for lack of a better term)C8 videos for months, and I saw this info on an early video(I don't recall the channel)
where a dyno shop technician was talking about it and when asked why the awd dyno was being used he referenced Mercedes as a brand that also had these issues. He seemed very knowledgable as his shop was filled with high performance car builds that were in various stages of upgrades.
That's a phat toque curve
You have to turn the car off and back on to actually get the new HP post break in.
Uh, you didn't see the part at 2:50 where they shut off the car and let it cool down? Watch the video before commenting. LOL
You should check it again at 1100 miles...😉👍
for sure
Anyone complaining is ignorant! LOL That's way more than 495hp at the crank! We all knew they were underrated by the speed numbers though. Math doesn't lie.
450 whp is 505to the crank who is lying? If you’re talking about that video where they claimed it made 650hp to the crank thats bs every other video proves it, because every other video its a consistent 430whp to 440whp on the c8
@@angelb4143 450 whp isn’t 505 hp to the crank 😂
That is a given, 22 horse relayed to rpm limit suggested.
Look at the curve at 4:10, there is a hp gain across the entire band. So no, it's not just because of the raised RPM limit.
👍
Nsx comes broken in from factory
I thought Chevy said it has 495hp, sounds like your missing 30hp
When company’s label hp numbers on cars the numbers are always crank hp, not wheel hp. You will always have a loss from weight, transmission, gear ratio ect.
Why would gm bother with 20hp...that's noting
Not bad when you get it for free!
@@speedsociety 120 hp is better for free
they want the engine to break in before you rev it up. Thats where the 20whp is coming from. Before you can only go to like 5k rpms. After I think its 6500
C0ol :).
Cute. Smh
Man I HATE how alone NA engineer rev!! Ugh. Smh
Hey wtf play metal music next time thanks Nick
You got it
