The best part of the whole video is the presentation of the NVMe to PCIe adapter cable!!!
With this adapter we gain four PCIe Lanes (4x32Gbps or 4x64Gbps or 4x128Gbps!!!! depending on Gen of NVMe connector which is avaliable on motherboard)
So this adapter gives us the possibility to add to a computer an LSI card, iSCSI, QSFPx2, QSFP+x2, RAID controller, or any other component that requires these speeds, either to increase the provided SATA ports or to add a card network with 2x10, 2x40 or 2x100Gbps speeds!
Think what you can plug into four lines of direct connection to the processor!!!
Excellent video with unlimited applications of the adapter both in upgrades and expansions of capabilities of our new constructions.
You remain a Pioneer, keep it up!!!

awesome tech presentation! There's still a reason to do this, that is if you have multiple uses for your mini PC. I like the idea of having a dedicated spot near the TV for demanding gaming, while still keep the option of taking the mini guy with me without the eGPU if I want to. Thanks for sharing this knowledge.

Hey I'm not trying to be a nitpicker, but I'm confused; in many of your frame rate improvement examples, you were seeing 3-6x fps improvements, but only showing 116-150 "%" improvements...seems those should be 300-600%, so I'm thinking I am missing something?

1660's are on the used market for $60-$80 right now. This whole rig seems like a "make it happen until i can get better" type of setup and with a gpu under $100 it might be worth it for some temporarily.

I can’t help but doubt that a GTX 1660 uses the full 16x speeds that a modern PCI-E slot provides. But I am sure it’s being restrained quite a bit from 1X.

Your problem was not the NVMe slot being stuck on 1.0 it was either the adapter or the cable you were using or both. The adapter AND the cable you are using to send data back and forth between the PC and the video card must support PCIe x4 or else it will default to x1.

    Cool video!
How on earth did you come up with your improvement percentages though 😅? They were all wrong imo.
If you had 25fps and improve to 50 fps, that's 200% of the original or in other words a 100% improvement.
    If you had 25fps and improve to 86fps (for instance), that's (100/25)*86 = 344% or a 244% improvement.
The numbers you mentioned were way lower

yeah, I saw 138% 74.1 and 13.7 and thought I was mid stroke cos my math wasn't adding up.

not sure how the improvement percentage is calculated, but going from 8 fps to 50 fps is way more than 140% improvement, it is over 6 fold. If you ever update this video with the miniforums 7840hs xtx with its Oculink interface results will be even more impressive. Exposed graphics card and psu is probably not wife approved, but could be made presentable in a vertical box like the xbox. And of course any concept of practicality is non existent.
