    The use of eGPU was amazing in this build. Could you please create a guide for using eGPU with 3D printed case.

    Beautiful case, looks factory made. I travel on planes and would like a gaming PC to take along inside a carryon bag or luggage. I would like to hear recommendations for a purchase or build if necessary to use for extended hours of gaming. I'm afraid the Geekom may have cooling limitations for long hours of gaming, and powerful gaming laptops are too expensive.

    • @MichaelKlements
      @MichaelKlements  2 месяца назад

      You could look at a slightly more powerful mini PC that doesn't require an external GPU and has better cooling - ruclips.net/video/6S8g4iw8gJE/видео.html

      @@MichaelKlements Thank you so much for responding. I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a Chronos with a 7800x3d & a 4800 super inside a 10x8x18 case from Origin PC. I know it's $$$, but it's a desktop with SFF that I can place inside a carryon. I would love to know your opinion if you have time.

    Nice. How does Geekom iT13 + GPD G1 over USB4 perform? any tips?

    • @MichaelKlements
      @MichaelKlements  6 месяцев назад +2

      I haven't tried the GPD G1, but at over $700 for a mobile version of the RX7600 it seems quite expensive. You can buy a USB 4 PCIe adaptor for about $110 and an RX7600 for around $250 so you'd be in for half the price of the G1 is you built it yourself.

    can you get better oerformance from the GPU if its conected directly to the mother board than using a cable using one of the USB C 40gbyts port? as en external ?

    • @MichaelKlements
      @MichaelKlements  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes you could plug the GPU into a USB 4 port and it would provide better bandwidth - you'd obviously need to use a different GPU PCIe adaptor though.

    dude i really want to have this kind of setup, i have mini pc running ryzen 5 5500u with APU/igpu max at 4gg but its not enough to run multiple bluestacks and heavy games. I want to add egpu badly. i have spare m.2 slot which is 2242 i think will that work? because my m.2 2280 occupied as a main boot drive and i dont want to replace it or swap. hopefully you could answer my question.

    • @MichaelKlements
      @MichaelKlements  3 месяца назад

      The 2242 M.2 port is a SATA port, you can't add a PCIe device to that port. Your only options would be to migrate the boot drive to a 2.5" SSD or onto a 2242 SATA drive and free up the 2280 port. Alternately you could add a GPU via. USB 4

  • @Rushil69420
    @Rushil69420 7 месяцев назад +1

    Does USB4 allow PCIE tunneling? If so you can connect a something like a Mini GPU while keeping your M.2 storage, right?

      Yes this is also an option

  • @danleblanc5872
    @danleblanc5872 5 месяцев назад +1

    Great setup and video! Would the m.2 to PCIE adapter work in the 2242 adapter instead of the 2280? The Geekom Mini IT13 has 2 m.2 slots so maybe that would work?

    • @MichaelKlements
      @MichaelKlements  5 месяцев назад +1

      No, the second M.2 slot is a M.2 SATA port so the PCIe adaptor won't work in it - that's why I had to use the 2.5" boot drive. I could have rather used a M.2 SATA boot drive in the free slot but just didn't have an M.2 SATA drive available.

    • @danleblanc5872
      @danleblanc5872 5 месяцев назад

      @@MichaelKlements Thanks for that! So I could use the adapter in 2280 for eGPU and boot off of a 1TB 2242 with a 2.5 'data' drive sounds like. Again thanks so much for your vids and expertise!

    Is there any bottleneck with the gpu? Does the pcie lane bottleneck the gpu

    • @MichaelKlements
      @MichaelKlements  7 месяцев назад +2

      The single lane means you can't get the full throughput to the GPU, so there is some additional GPU performance that the PC won't be able to make use of for GPU intensive tasks.

    You have two m.2 slots, you could have 3D printed to install oculink in the empty slot and kept the ssd. Why did you not is a mystery 🤔

    • @MichaelKlements
      @MichaelKlements  3 месяца назад +1

      There is a difference between an M.2 SATA port and an M.2 NVMe port. The empty slot is a SATA port, neither the NMVe drive or the GPU will work in it.
