You can’t set the fan to run 100 percent all the time it’s will give out and ruin the life of the fan these mini pcs are mobile chips so as all Intel cpus are hot anyways
@@JustinEdge-i3i Not true, and please don't spread misinformation without knowledge. Most fans have a lifespan between 30.000 and 50.000 hours. We're talking about at minimum 3 years of 24/7 continuous (!) use. Also, fans are much cheaper to replace than a CPU, IF you can replace the CPU at all.
You can’t run a fan 100 percent it’s will wear out faster I know this from building computers the bearings will go before anything else goes it’s depends what the fan is made with
@@gentle285 If your CPU is getting too hot, most fans will automatically adjust to a reasonable speed. I've always liked intel CPUs but man do they need to step it up for internal graphics. I swear, no matter what they use. It's always like, 5 years behind tech wise
I'm disappointed to hear that Intel integrated graphics are still behind. I have an 8th Gen Intel cpu and the integrated graphics are way behind AMD CPUs if the benchmarks are to be believed. Good for office work and pretty light light gaming but that's all.
This was really informative. I was really open to the idea of a mini PC, that kinda ticked all of the boxes. But it does seem that have oversold the gaming element of the box which is a real pity. I saw another review in which they highlighted that it would be much greater advertised as a streaming game box in which apparently it was much more flattering in. Is this something you have tested to confirm?
streaming and dare i say it emu ie Emulators are defined as hardware or software platforms that allow a computer system (or a mobile system) to behave like another so that the former - the host - can run applications and services designed for the latter - the guest
I've recently bought a Geekom IT12 i5-12450H, and I've got a similar problem with the cooling fan. Regardless of the CPU temperature, the fan is spinning fast and loud ALL THE TIME! I noticed in your video that the cooling fan has not been detected by HWMonitor - I have the same problem with the IT12. Geekom's cooling fan is not properly integrated with the rest of the system. I don't believe this fan has ANY IDEA what the CPU temperature actually is!
Coincidently, last week I reapplied the thermal paste on my 8th generation i5 Intel NUC though it didn't really need it. The odd thing I noticed about your teardown of the Geekom PC is that it looks mechanically identical to the Intel NUC. I wonder if Intel gave or sold the entire design to Geekom? Your review was not really so brutal IMHO. It was simply matter-of-fact. Some PC reviewers go off on emotional rants when they don't like some aspect of the device under review. Subscribed to your channel. 🙂
No Intel still makes the nuc mini pcs I’m sure the asked Intel for it but all mini pcs use mobile chips as you can’t fit a desktop processor on it maybe you could if they made them bigger
I'm not sure why do you need this device, even for textual Ai the main problem of it is small RAM, 64 is very small for any future. Not counting normal GPU. 800 bucks for secretary typing PC?
Hey a very newbie to this stuff. Ive had my PC for 10 years... yah I want to upgrade since I am thinking of buying the Viture One XR Glasses. BUT they will only work well across a 5gb connected ethernet port if I travel and want to access content on my home unit which I want to use to replace my LTop. Has anyone had issues in using wearable screen products similar to the Viture One XR Glasses. I know I can jimmy rig it but has anyone had any issues with Wearables and this box? thanks.
There's no conventional fan headers so you'd have to likely mod the housing and fan headers to get them going. The fan in this works, it's just the thermals from the factory were very poor.
Very good review and it is a nice change from most other minipc reviews out there (for any miniPC) where they don't even mention temperatures or of course try to find a solution. It's a shame that this looks like it was the last mini PC review here. What old video editing software do you use? I am quite curious as I use a (vegas) Movie Studio 17 for several years ago and it's....problematic to say the least.
hmmm i had this fan problem myself and i'm pretty sure is a software one. try and check if there are any kms installed, or any other tasks that take the cpu high even on idle. as for gaming, try to change the ram (use the crucial one from the beelink) and see if it gets any better. in the end tho, as you said, a core i9 is better with a desktop configuration so for the price i'll get the beelink (considering the performance and the graphic card with better gaming fps). 5/10 there was an attempt lol.
IO WISE It's nice to start seeing these guys with LEGIT IO. For a long time the AMD units had silly things like a poop ton of 2.0 ports and like 4 display out ports usually 2 HDMI and 2 DisplayPorts. Then like 2 USB 3.0 maybe 10Gbps if lucky.
I was JUST comparing specs between BeeLink SER 6 Max vs. SER 7 Max [set up w/ both I7 and I9 components] The current I7 and I9 configs where - as most show/say - Pretty similar for the most part.. 1 barely edging the other out for specific things.. Then they do pros/cons - Not really a deal breaker.. But then I saw another higher numbered I7 model.. So I plugged that in vs. the previous two.. OMG, it Blew Them Both Out Of The Water! My literal reaction was a huge grin and an out-loud laugh! I've already had the SER6 'Pro' from last year, and my copy was nuked.. Blue-screens, freezing, HDMI not recognized/working, WiFi drops/issues.. etc. That said, I Want To Like/Trust these things - So I 'waited'. - Something I had to have to do, but, necessary.. Now that there seems to be less and less Gremlins hiding inside, I think it's safe to go for it once again.. They really are Amazing little devices - if/when they work properly. Sam - PS: I'm No PC Guru by Any Stretch of the imagination, but know Just Enough to get into trouble.. lol I can still at least try to make more sense by adding these: The different processors that I was comparing: 1 AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX 2 AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS And then . . . NO And Then! haha This guy: AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS I 'assumed' all 9s would own 7s. Nope, definitely not the case.. [Things that make me go Hmmm..]
Really? I haven't seen it on any of my other gaming channels. I'm just so happy to see a mini PC not from BeezLink. I'll be happy as long as the advertising doesn't try to claim their 'carbon fiber' textured plastic is real carbon fiber, or claim that there is liquid metal thermal interface material when there isn't. So sick of other reviewers who take whatever the manufacturer says for gospel, even if Der8auer has already debunked it through scientific microscopic level material analysis.
Been thinking about that myself. There are brands where you can buy just the "barebones" configuration (just the case/board/cpu) and then add your own RAM/SSD. Do that, chuck Ubuntu Server or whatever your flavor of choice is, and you're off.
10000% all the time thermal throttle...even a i3 will run to hot with that bad cooling...my lenovo legion laptop with ryzen 7 5800h scores 12179 with cinebench r23 so its faster than a i9 13th gen? lol

I bought the Beelink because it was small and fits behind my TV, I only use it for streaming tv , youtube, check email, and I use a bluetooth keyboard. The only problem I have is there is no battery power like a laptop,
@@SMOOREZI wonder if it supports one of those external gpu enclosures (the device that contains a slot for a regular graphics card and it connects via thunderbolt and somehow acts as a graphics card for some laptop)
But that negates the form factor of the compact PC.
@@SMOOREZ I see that i9 just as a cash grab. I would rather use an AMD since they have decent integrated graphics.
Can you boot from USB to install a modded windows or Linux based OS?
Absolutely. Just need to go into bios, turn secure boot off and then select boot from usb.
5:55 windows 11 is needed for wifi 6e (and wifi 7 most likely in the future for some reason) windows 10 cant use any of that
iI bought one a couple of days ago, and it constanbtlky crashes and tries to repair its self, taking sometimes hours (if your lucky) to do so. Basically all you get is a black screen. . I have lost over £700 on this. Its a disaster. I can't recommend it at all.
Hi everyone, I need a mini PC to mine Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum Classic, can anyone tell me if this mini PC can be useful to me? I intend to buy GEEKOM Mini IT13 SSDi9-13900H 32GB RAM + 2TB SSD! thank you all
Hello Smoorez! I know it's not your job to fix somebody else's product, but have you tried manually setting the fan to 100%, just out of curiosity? Thank you for the detailed review!
You can’t run a fan 100 percent it’s will wear out faster I know this from building computers the bearings will go before anything else goes it’s depends what the fan is made with
@@gentle285
If your CPU is getting too hot, most fans will automatically adjust to a reasonable speed. Keeping the fan at 100% speed all the time would just create annoying noise, use a bit more electricity, and wear down the fans at a faster rate As I said you can’t not run them at 100 percent I know this as building computers no fan is good to run that long periods of time not at a 100 percent the lifespan is for normal use not 100 percent and depends on bearings in the fan and how high quality the parts are even Corsair fans have a lifespan but not at a 100 percent I think you need to do your research before commenting
@@gentle285 and for your information I was saying running it 100 percent all the time I know how stuff works and how computers and computer stuff works been doing it for over 30 years now I think you need to do your research it’s not spreading misinformation it’s called being apart as them mobile cpus always have laptop heathsinks as they are the cheapest part in any laptop or any mini pc running it 100 percent will wear that fan out quicker and for what you read is for normal use not for 100 percent all the time it’s common sense these companies that run test on there fans do it for normal use not 100 percent even Corsair and all the other company’s that make fans for desktops is normal use so don’t say that I’m spreading wrong information bc your wrong
you're too worried about a lot of stuff. coming across as too sponsor-y or whatever? this was a rock solid review, regardless of how you acquired the unit. great job on this one, love your work
Please do a video on a watch phone (they are android phones on a shape of a watch more or less)
He did one before iirc
I've always liked intel CPUs but man do they need to step it up for internal graphics. I swear, no matter what they use. It's always like, 5 years behind tech wise
I'm disappointed to hear that Intel integrated graphics are still behind. I have an 8th Gen Intel cpu and the integrated graphics are way behind AMD CPUs if the benchmarks are to be believed. Good for office work and pretty light light gaming but that's all.
Geekdom miniT11 11gen i7 - 1139oH 16GB 12GB SSD windows Pro 32GB Manery
This was really informative. I was really open to the idea of a mini PC, that kinda ticked all of the boxes.
But it does seem that have oversold the gaming element of the box which is a real pity.
I saw another review in which they highlighted that it would be much greater advertised as a streaming game box in which apparently it was much more flattering in.
Is this something you have tested to confirm?
streaming and dare i say it emu ie Emulators are defined as hardware or software platforms that allow a computer system (or a mobile system) to behave like another so that the former - the host - can run applications and services designed for the latter - the guest
Could I plug in a LEPAI amp (+speakers) into the headphones jack?
Quite a "brilliant" design, placing the CMOS battery next to the heatsink
I use Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Is this pc good for that. I don't play any games.
Also, according to the official Geekom website, the IT13 has a "Whisper-quiet cooling fan".
Please let me know if you find a fix, my IT12 fan ramps up and down constantly even with Quiet mode enabled in bios
@@Oozeyyy Unfortunately, I couldn't find a fix for this, so I returned the IT12 for a refund 🙁
Using laptop parts?
@@JustinEdge-i3i the cpu wise thing indeed thay use mobile versions of the cpu the big cpus are mostly for the byo byo lingo for build your own
WHY on earth do you talk so fast? its unintelligible!
ddr4 will reduce the performance on the igpu by a lot
It has almost half the performance of the other Mini PCs with same CPU according to benchmarks
I know I can jimmy rig it but has anyone had any issues with Wearables and this box? thanks.
I don't like the thermals on this tiny i9 either. Would it be possible to add Noctua fans?
There's no conventional fan headers so you'd have to likely mod the housing and fan headers to get them going. The fan in this works, it's just the thermals from the factory were very poor.
the refresh rate is only 60 mhz...it's a shame
Is it only my version of the IT13 but I have white noise fan that will not turn off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They all don’t have 2.0 depends on the company not amd
did they up the price by $200?
Great review!

I was JUST comparing specs between BeeLink SER 6 Max vs. SER 7 Max [set up w/ both I7 and I9 components]
The current I7 and I9 configs where - as most show/say - Pretty similar for the most part..

PS: I'm No PC Guru by Any Stretch of the imagination, but know Just Enough to get into trouble.. lol
I can still at least try to make more sense by adding these: The different processors that I was comparing:
1 AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX
2 AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS
And then . . . NO And Then! haha This guy: AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS
I 'assumed' all 9s would own 7s. Nope, definitely not the case..
[Things that make me go Hmmm..]
so youre beelink mini pc starting acting up, im new in this space and looking for a good one for gaming
@@mirracobiker710 Yeah, unfortunately I had really bad luck with the copy I received, and ended up Giving Up..
The current gen ryzen APU's are way better than Intel.
This thing is everywhere on youtube it seems
I only seen 2 reviews posted for it and some marketing from GEEKOM. Unless it's on of their older units?
@@Boogie_the_cat regardless on wather its a mini pc or a desktop pc or a tower pc marketing is allways hype with out the real world testing
Im actually really liking your mini pc reviews
You need to do cinebench 2024
amazing video!

Good honest review!
a mini pc i would make to a personal server and put linux on it
Been thinking about that myself. There are brands where you can buy just the "barebones" configuration (just the case/board/cpu) and then add your own RAM/SSD. Do that, chuck Ubuntu Server or whatever your flavor of choice is, and you're off.
@@rofldaniel yea a barebone would be cheaper if you have the storage and ram already
@@rofldaniel but I’m pretty sure barebones use laptop ram and those I don’t have on hand
hi
Yo.
10000% all the time thermal throttle...even a i3 will run to hot with that bad cooling...my lenovo legion laptop with ryzen 7 5800h scores 12179 with cinebench r23 so its faster than a i9 13th gen? lol
Thats because this mini PC is power limited and has bad cooling. In a proper laptop the i9-13900H is significantly better.
Put it by your feet in winter.
Sub par content. If I want to watch sponsored reviews of a dime in a dozen minipcs I could watch linustech.
