Joe, would love to know what you use for your overhead contact camera system. I’m using a Foresight Falcon. Is this an add-on software to your launch monitor, or is this stand alone software/hardware?
This is the Protee VX and I'm just using the standard videos taken by it. The Protee really does the video right. The Foresight Falcon is a great unit!
Hey Joe really enjoy your content ! Question: does the EML struggle with putting? You are hitting it so much harder than me on stimp 11-13 and the ball looks to be rolling realistically (hole catches some that are on the edge). With my EML on stimp 13 if the ball even travels off the edge of the mat (2ft) it’s going over 10ft on gspro. For 5-6ft putts I can’t even take a stroke. Just have to tap it 2-3 inches. Can’t be normal? It also lips out anything that is not perfectly center regardless of speed. Thanks for any advice!
I haven't used the EML but I can tell you that the eye mini is one of the best launch monitors out there for putting in terms of speed and HLA. It matches my Protee VX and gc3 perfectly! The distance the ball travels in the Sim room is all relative.. I'm putting on putting turf and my whole Sim apart from my stance mat is all putting turf that rolls very true and quick. Stimp 13 in real life is rediculously quick we are talking Augusta National Masters quick... Your everyday municipal course green would be running about 8-10 on the stimp. Putting indoors can be quite tricky and a lot of people find that they hit it too hard initially especially with higher stimp speeds. Now obviously I'm not in your room and not using your LM so I can't say that it's not the launch monitor but I would be VERY surprised if it was the LM. I think potentially what's happening is just you're not used to the speeds as they will never match what's in your room and on GS Pro unless you set the greens to the slowest stimp in GS Pro. There is a lot that goes in to putting on a simulator... All these softwares can't replicate it correctly because to do that everyone would need to buy quintic putting launch monitors.. to be able to read the actual spin spin axis of the ball correctly. These software are using the ball speed and the HLA only... So they don't take into account the actual VLA and spin on the ball which causes skid and roll. So in your room the ball is getting vertical launch and back / spin axis which when it hits the ground depending on the turf will skid and slow down quickly. In GS Pro and all softwares they don't take that into account so you are only seeing ball speed and horizontal launch angle. Hope that makes sense. Cheers
Thank you for the detailed response. I do understand that indoor putting is not an exact science and that it takes getting used to but I guess the root of my question is: My ball never lips in. Every putt lips out unless it’s dead center even if it’s barely crawling toward the hole. Yours lips in OFTEN even on the tips tour and even when the ball is obviously traveling with pace. Also - I’m just watching your putting stroke and not how far your ball travels on the mat. You can actually take the putter back and roll it like we would outside on a 6ft putt. I literally have to just tap the ball without even making a stroke (1inch backswing) or it’s going well past the circle. It makes it almost impossible to get used to distances because it isn’t even a putting stroke. Thanks again for any advice!
Ugh. This has been in beta for a decade. lol. Used to play this all the time in early beta GSPro when we had access to older courses that had been ported over. Was either a favorite course or the most hated course for people. I loved it. And been waiting 2+ years for this to be rereleased from when GSPro went live.
I know I gave up on waiting for it to come to the server so put up the course in beta. It's a shame because I think you could just put this on the main server now. Yes it could be done a lot better but tbh it looks pretty good now 👍

What is the name of that lab club face software you are using. Looks amazing, what camera is able to pick up the club face that clear?
This is just the video coming directly from the Protee VX launch monitor 👍 they really do the video reply well
@ I noticed that your club face looks like it’s pointing slightly up rather than down at impact. Is this due to camera angle being slightly off?
