Only reason I'll eventually get something larger like a Ram 1500 or an F-150 is because I'm 6' 8" and with the seat all the way back my knees still sit halfway up the steering wheel on each side, lol. Jpk516 what motor? I’m looking for the 2003 2.3l cause the extra power and the fuel economy is better than buying the 6cyl. I want a truck that can do some decent hauling and capable of making me some extra money as well as being cheap to own.

Perfect body zero rust or dents , and I only paid 2 grand . I've seen similar ones sell for over 10 grand . In fact I saw a 2002 for 11,900 on Craigslist just the other day .
My mother's 2001 ford ranger fell in salt water. We were able to revive it, that thing rand for about 40k miles before we sold it. It's a great decent truck and my favorite year of the ranger, maybe not the American version, here in Africa our rangers are good looking. The rangers there in America are cool modified, huge aftermarket options. Good truck, buy one as your first, you wont regret it.
I’m currently driving a 2000 ford ranger XLT it is my first truck/ car it has been abused it’s whole life from the previous owner and is rusted to absolutely to shit with 187,000 miles and I have put a good 8,000 of those miles on it the bed is held on with wood and screws and the gas tank straps are rusted away so the tank has 4 rachet straps on it I’ve hulled the good ol 1991 Honda fourtax around all the nearby properties that aren’t gated up the 4 wheel drive still is flawless. transmission is auto has a few rough shifts mostly 3 rd gear it hits a neutral state and you just have to let off the gas and let it shift when it finally wants to it is a rough looking truck on the underside with frame holes and oil leaks and coolent leak but it still goes really good and drives extremely good and easy to learn how to drive. To put in perspective it drives better than my dads brand new 2019 Toyota Tacoma but the Tacoma has less noise and you don’t have to fear hitting a bump to hard and breaking the weak frame but I love my ranger with all its perks and not so perks
I have 1996 ford ranger love it my dads old truck I keep it up to date when it needs repair people ask me why do I drive it I tell them it’s cheaper to drive that instead of buying new
I am 34 years old. Been thru a few "nice" expensive vehicles. I bought the lowest mileage 4x4 used ford ranger I could find in the entire country three years ago. It's the best small truck ever made aside from the older yota's. Parts are cheap A/F and plentiful due to them being fleet vehicles. It crushes snow and is comfortable. The A/C kicks ass. I will drive it until the wheels fall off. These are climbing in value. Scoop em why you can lad's.
the 4cyl 2.3 is slow because the gearing is different than a car, I had the same engine in a 95 escort hatchback and that sucker flew, both got great gas mileage 27mpg city

97 Ranger. 247,000 miles. Rebuilt the transmission at 243,000. Other than that, good to go.
It's my first car my grandpa owned it and it was passed down after he died it only has a lil over 100k miles on it
I have 1996 ford ranger love it my dads old truck I keep it up to date when it needs repair people ask me why do I drive it I tell them it’s cheaper to drive that instead of buying new
This is going to be my first car, Ford ranger 2008 thunder. Nervous but excited to start driving... Just sorting insurance out on it this week.
Lol 4cyl mustang never heard of that in those years
I am 34 years old.
This is my first, lucky I got the 4.0 4x4 for 500 with no title
First car just got mine for birthday 2002 XLT edge 4x4 just needed new paint and command starter
Seth Pacholko happy belated birthday

Nice choice cant go wrong with a ranger i love mine good choice
I'm on my 4th Ranger, a 2011... they didn't really ever change a damn thing. I like the little gas hogs, I don't want a 150.

Driving mine for 25 years now
My first was a 2005 Edge 3.0L w/ extended cab. Already put 30k miles on it in 2 years.
Might be getting a 1998 Ranger for my first vehicle
The v4s do get good gas mileage but my v6 4.0L is a pig on gas
I have a 99 ranger with 227K on it. It is my daily driver and commutes 120 miles every day. My only complaint is i wish it got better mpg
Do 4 door versions of these exsist?
A good amount of the USDM extended cab Rangers had 4 doors after 1998, and they actually made a crew cab for non-US markets as well.
My first car was a 1990 Ford Ranger and I still own it.
My ford ranger is on its second motor third water pump second set of FI fourth alternator. These trucks are not cheap
How many gallons does your ranger hold?
My first car baby
I'm 15 and i just bought a ford ranger 2001 with a 4. with 75,000 miles and automatic windows for 3500
Sports car...sure right right yeah
the 4cyl 2.3 is slow because the gearing is different than a car, I had the same engine in a 95 escort hatchback and that sucker flew, both got great gas mileage 27mpg city
Joe Boxer The 2.3 (or the 2.5) Lima is a great engine no doubt.
a first gen hyundai tiburon is the best first car...i got mine for 600$ and its been good for the last year. only problem so far is the clutch has started slipping
subie skyline34 bought my ranger for 650 and really all I need is a power steering pump and some tires. I work for a tire shop and I get tons of scrap tires that are really good for my truck
Roastedpnut wow nice...yah i fixed the clutch btw just needed a new slave cylinder and has been working great for the last 2 weeks
Roastedpnut also i just got a $400 1989 ford festiva haha and it runs!

I have a mazda b2500 1999 Its been whith me 12 years .Its a reliable pickup truck.Gas economical for a pickup.Reasonable to maintain.Ford made.
Business in the front party in the back
I got a 99 4.0L v6 ranger XLT. Automatic. Bought it for 500. Great fucking truck
By the way if you want a reliable ranger buy a 4 cylinder, the V6 apparently has more problems per mile because of how big and complex it is.
I got a 96 ford ranger 4x4 the best truck ever got mine for 1000$
Are the backseats safe
