  • If your PC won't boot, there’s a good chance that the power supply may be the source of the issue. In previous videos, we’ve outlined a few signs that your power supply may be failing, but in this one, we’ll go over some basic troubleshooting to isolate and hopefully solve the problem.

      The paper clip test is just the tip of the iceburg... 99% of failed PSU I have dealt with still power on.

      @@iflyrcmike i have a (good quality) PSU that was working when I took it out of a system, but right after doesn't turn on with the jumper. Ideas?

      Ya I'm trying to test individual components with a multimeter not do some bullshit tests like these I don't want to replace a whole power supply if it's just a blown fuse or transistor. People all to quick to just throw shit out and replace it entirely. I'm a technician for electrical cuircuts, so electronic isn't too far out of my troubleshooting skills, but I wanted specific tips to help me looks like this video really isn't it, just way to basic tbh.

    should have mentioned that some brands of psu's need a supply tester, available online, or a dummy test load, in which event the jumper method will not work giving a false idea that the psu has failed. My psu has a sticker attached to the psu to that effect that a load is necessary for the fan to work.

    Is it exactly the same if you use a copper wire instead of a paper clip if so I have to replace my PSU.

      Yes, copper is conductive

    Where is the green pin if all the wires are coloured black

    • @ramim.5856
      @ramim.5856 5 месяцев назад

      it should be green on most power supply it's standard color but power supply manufactures now has changed the game just look on mobo power cable diagram and as you can see on the picture put the cable with the lock on top and shorten pin no. 4 and 3 or no.4 and 5 because 3 and 5 are ground (com) so they are the same and no.3 is power on.
