    Of almost all the cats, the cheetah is the one I would most describe as elegant. She's fast, sleek, delicate and gracefull. Absolutely beautiful animals.

  • @orangejoe204
    @orangejoe204 9 лет назад +460

    Luckily for them, cheetahs are the featherweights of the big cat world and the scaredy cats of the savannah. They've got no interest in fighting a full-sized human, mostly because they're not stupid enough to attack anything twice their weight, much less 4 of them in the same place. In savannah terms, that would be suicidal. You only attack what you can easily kill and haul away.
    As has been said, they HAVE learned to use jeeps as useful scouting positions, though.

    • @Turkanaboy4life
      @Turkanaboy4life 8 лет назад +63

      +Alex Tocqueville You kidding! most big cats and wildlife in general rarely bother humans unless you bother them. If you respect their space, their respect yours. If they invade yours...chill out - humans are not on their menu. Full-sized human wont last 2 mins with any cat other than a domestic one...they go for the jugular. I don't get my facts from watching documentaries but having lived all my life in African jungles. Try petting cheetah cubs and you will discover where the boundaries are.

    • @alanfoster6589
      @alanfoster6589 7 лет назад +6

      Always thought the Turkana preferred wide open spaces to jungles. But you're right. Cheetahs will let you know when to stop. For example, I found out first hand they don't like being scratched between their front legs...not a cub.

      Nah, Cheetahs are actually really chill.
      For one, they are hands down the weakest of all the big cats to the point that humans could probably take them in a fight; they lack the sharp claws or powerful bite and weight class of other big cats, they're literally only good at running I kid you not.
      But they also have calm temperaments and don't see humans as either prey nor natural predators. There has been 2 recorded incidents, total, of people dying to them and those were likely cases of either rabies or some other exceptional circumstance.

    That was AWESOME. It wasnt even the slightest bit interested in the people. It was a vantage point to watch for its next meal. WoW. The chances of that happening ... very rare. FANTASTIC video. 🌹💟🌹💟🌹💟🌹

    Cheetahs are the only big cat that can just about be domesticated.

    • @Mortablunt
      @Mortablunt 5 лет назад +4

      Not quite, as needing a territory and live prey is a problem, but they're human safe enough to be tamed. Honestly, they're safer than dogs. There's no record of a cheetah ever killing a human. If they approach them when they don't want that and don't back off at their warning, they'll attack you, but they realize we are far tougher and will kill them in a fight. They're like giant kitties. Compare this to domestic dogs, who kill several thousand people a year.

    • @agbrenv
      @agbrenv 4 года назад

      @Ronald Mugo once tamed it would be safe, and actual wild one? nope, since animal reserves specifically point out that short people and children have a chance to be attacked

    ok people. only 7,000 cheetahs left in the wild in Africa. Scientists want to put them on endangered species list. we already lost 3 types of tigers. 3 tiger subspecies are now extinct. I think... I don't know what to think. They stil need land to travel around and hunt for food.
