    This is the best animation tutorial I have watched about clip studio paint showing the layers hierarchy in a simple way. Thanks!

      @@MsRedNebulaArt Quick question if you don't mind, can I do the same step while animating something in the same time? For example, I want to move the head of my character the same way you did with your dragon, but I also want to make her eyes blink. Do you thing it would work? Or there is another way to do this?

    • @MsRedNebulaArt
      @MsRedNebulaArt  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@KohonasYes, you can absolutely combine frame-by-frame and keyframe animation for eye blinks and such. I'll cover it more in a future video, but basically, put the frame-by-frame animation together first, then turn on keyframes for the whole animation folder. :)

    Mmmm I have a question. Is it possible to bake the interpolations created by the Keyframes and convert them into rasterized frames?
    And also I feel that the Keyframe tool in ClipStudio is somewhat limited, especially for animating something detailed, such as animating a strand of hair. For instance, if I want to animate it based on movement or something like wind, would I have to cut the strand into different pieces so that each piece has its animation layer? Or is there a less complex way to do this?

    • @MsRedNebulaArt
      @MsRedNebulaArt  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hm, to the best of my knowledge, there's no quick way to bake interpolated animations. The only way I could think of would be to export them as an image sequence and then pull them back in one by one. If you have EX, it's possible to import multiple images in a batch process. The animation layer would still need to be set up by hand, I think.
      I do agree keyframes aren't as robust as they are in more specialized programs, but Clip's animation features seem more focused on frame-by-frame, with the keyframes as a helpful addition. Perhaps they'll add more in the future. I think for the kind of detail you're talking about, something like Live2D might serve better. (I haven't had a chance to play with it, but I have seen some impressive interpolated animations done with that one!)

    Question, how do I get a Full 360 degree spin? I have a spinning plate that keeps rotating backwards rapidly at the final few frames

    • @ImagineaStory.404
      @ImagineaStory.404 6 месяцев назад

      Additionally, how would I make layers disappear/ swap positions?

    • @MsRedNebulaArt
      @MsRedNebulaArt  6 месяцев назад +2

      The trick is to make sure the rotation angle is set to 360 (or -360 if it's counter-clockwise) at the end of your animation, instead of 0. If you just rotate manually, CSP might default it back to 0, which will cause your animation to rotate the wrong way. The rotation angle is found in the side menu when you have your keyframed layer selected with the Object sub tool
      For your other question, you can combine frame-by-frame animation with keyframed animation. Make the frame-by-frame animation first, then turn on keyframes on the whole animation folder. If all you want to do is hide the layer, you can also just reduce the length of that clip; it'll only show where the clip shows on your timeline.
      Hopefully I explained well enough, but they're both good topics I might make full videos on!

    I'm using animation folders to do keyframe animation, what do i have to do to transform the pieces? It isnt letting me

    • @MsRedNebulaArt
      @MsRedNebulaArt  5 месяцев назад

      When you keyframe an animation folder, you must adjust keyframes on the whole folder, not the individual layers. Use the Object sub tool (under the Operation tool) to select and transform the folder.
      (If you need to adjust any of the individual layers, just temporarily turn keyframes off by toggling "Edit Keyframes with Active Layers", make your adjustments, and turn it back on.)
      I hope that helps, but one of the set of videos I'm working on right now will cover this in more detail - stay tuned for that soon!

    I cant seem to Transform anything when the folder is set to enable keyframe. I can move them tho. Just not anything that change the shape or edit. It shows locked symbol in the layer.
    and I'm very close to stop using CSP for animating anything ever again

    • @MsRedNebulaArt
      @MsRedNebulaArt  6 месяцев назад

      When you have keyframes turned on, the layer is treated as an object, which means normal editing tools like transform are not available.
      Instead, go to the Operation tool and select the Object sub tool. That will let you resize, rotate, and all of that.
      If you want to edit the image, you can turn keyframes off. Once they're off, make any edits you want to the layer, then turn them back on. Just make sure you don't merge layers or anything like that, and your keyframes will still be there when you turn them back on.

    • @MsRedNebulaArt
      @MsRedNebulaArt  6 месяцев назад

      I'm not sure what you mean by your cels becoming triangles. Do you mean when you add keyframes? You can turn the keyframes back off again if you need to edit your cels.
