Thanks guys, I just used this video to help someone install their vent visors by phone. It worked and I didn't get screamed at, so mission accomplished. Well done.
Yes ever since I installed Rian visors this would happen. I tried another youtube advisor but it didn't work. THIS WORKED! PRAISE GOD AND THIS MAN. IT WAS DRIVING ME CRAZY. Thank You!!!!!!
Same here!! I think the 48hts is the key here. Still waiting to see if it solves the issue of the bounce back when auto upping the window on a bumpy road.
None of the procedures discussed here worked on my '10 Lincoln Navigator. However, the following procedure did work... hope this helps someone else. Window Motor Initialization NOTE: Initialization is required to learn both the full up and full down positions and the profile of the glass as it travels through the glass channel. Once initialized, obstacle detection is enabled. This procedure is only required for Navigator (LF and RF) or Expedition (LF only) window motors. NOTE: The window motor must be reinitialized whenever: the motor is removed from window regulator drum housing, a new motor is installed, a new window regulator is installed, new window glass is installed, glass top run removal or installation is carried out or when carrying out any operation in which grease or lubricants are applied to the window system. All window components (window glass, window regulator, window motor and glass top run) must be installed and tightened to specification before carrying out this procedure. Refer to the De-Initialization Procedure prior to performing the window motor initialization (unless a new motor is being installed). NOTE: A new (or de-initialized) LF/RF (Navigator) or LF (Expedition) window motor will not operate in one-touch up or one-touch down mode until initialized. If a new LF/RF window motor has been installed, proceed to the Window Motor Initialization procedure in this section. NOTE: Excessive bounce-back (window reverses direction with no obstructions present) may indicate that a de-initialization procedure may need to be performed. De-Initialization Procedure 1.Start with the ignition key in the RUN position and open one front door. 2.NOTE: Steps 2 and 3 must be performed within 8 seconds. Turn the ignition key from OFF to RUN 5 times. 3.Press the window control switch to the one-touch DOWN position (second detent) and release. Window Motor Initialization WARNING: Keep objects and body parts clear of the glass panel when carrying out the initialization procedure. During the initialization procedure, the glass panel closes with high force and cannot detect objects in its path. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury. 4.Start with the ignition key in the OFF position and with the LF/RF door open. 5.Turn the ignition key to the ON position. 6.Activate and hold the window control switch in the one-touch DOWN position (second detent) until the window glass stalls for 2 seconds at the bottom of its travel and release the switch. 7.NOTE: After performing this step, wait a minimum of 3 seconds before operating the window control switch or ignition switch. Activate and hold the window control switch (with no interuptions) in the one-touch UP position (second detent) until the window glass stalls for 2 seconds into the glass top run and release the switch. 8.Verify correct operation of the window by carrying out the one-touch up and one-touch down features. If the window does not operate correctly, carefully repeat this procedure.
Mr. Bartley, I would like to thank you for your directions you gave on this bounce back issue. I followed them and everything is working fine on my 2010 Navigator. Thanks a million😁
This solution DOES work on my 2016 F-150. A few notes that I found make it easier though. 1) I would suggest you have two people for this 2) Put the in-channel visor in place 3) Person #1 sit in the driver's seat so they can operate the windows from the inside 4)Person #2 stand outside the window and slightly pull the in-channel visor outward at the top where it meets the door frame while the window goes up (this allows a bigger gap for the window to slide in) 5)When ready, Person #1 raise the window...it will trip at the top and begin coming back down but keep the window button pulled up 6)When the window has come to a stop (about halfway up), let go of the button and then quickly pull upward on it again 7)This time the window should go up and stay up ***I would suggest leaving the windows up as long as you can once they are closed to allow the molding more time to flex*** Good luck
Great! guys at truck shop were trying to sell me stick on window vents but I don't like the look as much as the in channel ones ,they said window will just come back down and they are having all kinds of problems with the auto up, I spent about 30 seconds and found your vid on how to fix that issue, great job, thanks
Thanks. I was having that problem with my 2017 Ford fusion hybrid. But when I hold the up button, it does keep my window up. It didn't seem like my rain guards were affecting it bcuz it's not coming into contact with my rain guard. The rain guard is on the outside of the door panel. But holding the button up does seem to keep the window from bouncing back down and I didn't have to wait 12-48 hours. It worked immediately. Once u hear a small clicking noise then u know it worked. I tried rolling it down and then letting it auto roll back up and it stayed up and u hear a slight clicking noise each time that let's u know that it's locked in. Thanks again. That was a quick fix 👌🏽
I didn't have a in channel visor. I think the window settings changed when I accidentally held the button while rolling them up or down while distracted. So, I fixed them following your steps. Then, I accidentally held them in the up or down mode again one day because, I was distracted again! LOL! And again, I fixed with these steps. Funny thing is, I went to the service department at the dealership, the service advisor didn't know how to fix and wanted me to drop my car off for a day! Thanks so much!
Awesome!!! My 2017 Fusion started bounce back after just 400 miles. The Ford dealer wanted me to bring it in and leave it for a couple of days. Thank you.
Wrong - wrong - wrong. All that happens during the 48 hour wait is that the wind deflector settles in the channel between the door and the glass. There is a relearning procedure for this but the method varies from model to model
Thank you so much for the video I have a2021 f150 and install the in channel rain visor and the auto window stop working but thanks to your video you help me fix the problem that the manual did not cover
Mine isn’t rolling back down I already done this when I installed them. But my issue is the driver side front window rotated slightly forward when it gets up to the visor causing a bad seal.
I don't have channel vents and my window does the same thing. If I hold the 'up' switch until and after the window fully closes, the window still goes back to halfway.
I'm having a similar problem in my 06 Ford 500, where no matter where the window is stopped, halfway or above, if I hit the auto up it automatically drops a bit. If I go and hit up again, it drops even more. This was before I put window deflectors on
I don't have a visor but in my 2016 truck any little bump or little rough road will make window bounce back down. It is so annoying the safety sensor is extra sensitive I don't think this will help but I'll try it
I'm having a similar problem with my window on my 05 mustang gt, but I can't hold up on the window switch without it bouncing back so I can't hold the switch for two seconds. Any other suggestions?
+Greg Mccoy Try this. DE-INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE De-initialization (un-learning) of the smart window motor clears the memory of the module and shuts off the One-Touch UP, Bounce Back and Short Drop functions. The smart window motors can be de-initialized in two (2) different ways: Disconnect the battery cable from the battery WHILE THE WINDOW IS MOVING. Remove the window motor fuse from the Power Distribution Box WHILE THE WINDOW IS MOVING. After performing one of the above procedures, the smart motor must be re-initialized, see Initialization Procedure. INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE INITIALIZATION MUST BE PERFORMED WITH THE DOOR CLOSED! (For convertibles, top and the quarter glass must be in the up / closed position.) From the window switch, perform the following steps without stopping: Operate the window UP and stall for 2 seconds. (Hold The Switch) Operate the window DOWN and stall for 2 seconds. (Hold The Switch) The smart window motor will be initialized and one-touch-UP and Short Drop will be operational. Cycle the window glass an additional five (5) times to set the window "Soft Stop" for the down position.
There is another way to do this without having to wait 48 hours. You need to pull the fuse for the power window while it is in motion. The window will stop working when you do. Put the fuse back in and roll the window all the way down. Then roll the window all the way up and hold for 2 seconds. Then roll the window all the way down and hold for 2 seconds. Rainguards must be installed first. Do this for both sides. Fuse location is in passenger floor kick panel. Fuse location #1 and #3 I believe. This will reprogram the sensitivity of the bounce back feature so it will work with your rainguards.
Saved my life dammmmm had this issue for a long time was about to purchase a brand-new module. Thanks for your video. Problem is fixed. Unbelievable worked on a Toyota Aurion thank you
I installed the weather tech window deflectors and did this and it still does the bounce back. Is there something I may have done wrong as far the whole installation process or is there another way to fix this. Also it was only the passenger side when i tried it, now both sides do it.
Hi Caleb, I apologize you are having bounce back issues with your Weathertech Window Deflectors. Make sure the defectors are seated as tight as possible. If you are still having issues please call (800) 441-6287 . Thank you!
I have mustang 05 and I do have this problem. I am trying your steps but my window goes down even when I have the swtch up. cant fix thr problem. any idea how to solve my problem will be more than welcome. thank you all.
We'd recommend you contact the manufacturer of the visors you have! There might be a warranty issue or they might have additional suggestions for you to fix the issue.
It is my understanding that this is NOT caused by a low battery, but is a "safety" feature to prevent children from getting there fingers caught in a window. The "bounce back" is aggravating for sure! I say "Do the override and TEACH your kids to keep their fingers out of the window!" lol
In your face blank lots. I have personally seen this quite often. Someone gets out of the car or truck to talk to somebody for a minute and the kids are messing with the windows. I am not saying this is a good thing to have children running wild in the vehicle, however, it does happen. Another huge issue is pets stepping on the switch. One thing we should always try to remember. The reason for safety suggestions and/or equipment is usually because someone has had an incident because the safety features weren't present. Thanks for the question.
Probably because they don't put the auto-up in the back windows and they figure if someone's pressing the switch and gets their head stuck, they'll let up on the switch pretty quick.
this is not the normal procedure..... it can be done in seconds rather than 48 hours. here is the procedure....it works. just performed on a 2015 expedition NOTE:Initialization is required to learn both the full UP and full DOWN positions and the profile of the glass as it travels through the glass channel. Once initialized, obstacle detection is enabled. This procedure is only required for Navigator (LF and RF) or Expedition (LF only) window motors. NOTE:The window motor must be initialized whenever: the motor is removed from window regulator drum housing, a new motor is installed, a new window regulator is installed, new window glass is installed, glass top run removal or installation is carried out or when carrying out any operation in which grease or lubricants are applied to the window system. Refer to the De-Initialization Procedure in this section prior to performing the window motor initialization (unless a new motor is being installed). If a new LF/RF window motor has been installed, proceed to the Window Motor Initialization procedure in this section. NOTE:Excessive bounce-back (window reverses direction with no obstructions present) may indicate that a de-initialization procedure may need to be performed. De-Initialization Procedure Start with the ignition key in the RUN position and open one front door. NOTE:Steps 2 and 3 must be performed within 8 seconds. Turn the ignition key from OFF to RUN 5 times. Press the window control switch to the one-touch DOWN position (second detent) and release. During the initialization procedure, the glass panel closes with high force and cannot detect objects in its path. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury. Start with the ignition key in the OFF position and with the LF/RF door open. Turn the ignition key to the ON position. Activate and hold the window control switch in the one-touch DOWN position (second detent) until the window glass stalls for 2 seconds at the bottom of its travel and release the switch. NOTE:After performing this step, wait a minimum of 3 seconds before operating the window control switch or ignition switch. Activate and hold the window control switch (with no interruptions) in the one-touch UP position (second detent) until the window glass stalls for 2 seconds into the glass top run and release the switch. Verify correct operation of the window by carrying out the one-touch up and one-touch down features. If the window does not operate correctly, carefully repeat this procedure.
Rick the 2015 may be a bit different. I found this on a Raptor Forum. For those with 2011-up f150s an want or have in-channel vent visors and are having or are concerned about the safety feature (bounce back) that these trucks are equipped with there is a fix. After install of the in-channel vent visors you must retrain the windows. The power window motors in these trucks are set up from the factory to close with a certain force, when in-channel vent visors are installed the window requires more force to completely close without bouncing back, thats where the retrain comes in, you have to retrain the windows to close with more force so they don't bounce back when closing the window. This does not disable the safety feature rather changes how much force is required to make them bounce back. How to retrain: - first you must kill power to each window while it is in travel, either up or down by either pulling the fuse for each window while it is traveling or disconnect the battery, I pulled the fuses. They are 30 amp fuses located in the passenger side kick panel in fuse positions 1 (drivers) and 3 ( passengers). This resets the motors - after this is completed replace the fuses. To retrain the up position the window must be in the full down position. Then close the window by pulling the window switch up into the auto close position ( second detent) and holding it until the window is fully closed and for 2 seconds after it is closed then release the switch. Then push the switch down into the auto down position (second detent) and hold it down until the window reaches the full open position and for 2 seconds after then release the switch. - The window has now been retrained. Test for proper operation, and perform these steps on both windows. Once complete they should close without bouncing back. Note, during the up and down training the bounce back feature is disabled and will not allow the window to bounce back, watch your fingers an any other obstructions in the windows path while performing this operation. Hopefully this will help and as always if you have any questions regarding this or any of our awesome products please feel free to call one of our Customer Service peeps at 877-216-5446
+RealTruck.com i will give that a try. I have them and the drivers side is working ok but the passenger side is still wanting to go back down. Thanks for the reply.
The real method is, roll the window up or down and while it's moving disconnect the motor. Wait 5 seconds, plug the motor back in and then roll the window up. When it closes all the way keep your finger on the switch and hold for three seconds. Roll the window down and wait three seconds again. Problem solved. I work at a ford dealer and this is what we do, we don't wait for 48 hours. Our customers would be mad if we did. Lol
Hi there , I have 2019 transit 250 , we change the driver's door, and now the driver's window rolls down one second and stops , and so on until goes all the way down, same to rolling up , any advice, thank you in advance ..
+Jerry Sutphin not sure what brand you have, but some of those come with spacers that you put in in the front where the visor would first contact the window. This holds the visor out of the way of the window allowing you to force it up to complete the bounce back re-learn.
mine is physically hitting the visor. I understand i probably installed it wrong...any tips on somthing I could stick in there to give me that extra space? or could I cut a tiny piece off
Oh and here is how to actually repair the issue you describe here on our 2016. It may work on older models also. 1. When installed correctly, the bottom edge of the front deflector must rest on the door’s outer weather-strip molding and only the thin flange is in the channel between the glass and inner seal. 2. Slowly raise the window up without activating the auto-up. If unable to fully close, have someone press the window between their hands upwards. Simultaneously raise the window up in small increments until fully closed. 3. If safety features cause the window to go down, reset the window by: a. Roll the window down, hold the down button for 5 seconds. b. Raise the window without activating the auto-up feature. Hold the up button for 3 seconds. 4. Leave windows closed fully for 12 hours. Deflector may take longer to acclimate below 60° F / 1
Why are ford cars having so many problems the f150 is a popular truck with all that time and money u think ford could build something that doesn't have tons of issues
Hey Joseph, if you followed the video's instructions but you're still struggling with getting it to work - we'd recommend calling the manufacturer of the part you have direct for help! These can be a tricky install.
I have a 2008 expedition with a new regulator. It goes up automatically and when it fully closes it comes back down a few inches. I've tried this reinitializing and it doesn't work. Any ideas would be appreciated
+Tritonone if you have tried this tip the best course of action would be to contact the manufacturer of the vent shades. They may have additional help for troubleshooting these problems. Usually when this is happening it's because something is obstructing the track.
Okay, this video was shot to show you how to reset your system once vent shades have been added. It sounds like something might be wrong with your regulator. I would check all of your connections and call the manufacturer that you got the product from.
Thanks guys, I just used this video to help someone install their vent visors by phone. It worked and I didn't get screamed at, so mission accomplished. Well done.
Happy to hear that, Ruth!
Window Motor Initialization
NOTE: Initialization is required to learn both the full up and full down positions and the profile of the glass as it travels through the glass channel.
De-Initialization Procedure
1.Start with the ignition key in the RUN position and open one front door.
2.NOTE: Steps 2 and 3 must be performed within 8 seconds.
Turn the ignition key from OFF to RUN 5 times.
3.Press the window control switch to the one-touch DOWN position (second detent) and release.
Window Motor Initialization
WARNING: Keep objects and body parts clear of the glass panel when carrying out the initialization procedure.
Thank you for this. It works on a Navigator 2009. My mistake in the beginning was turning the key to ON and OFF 5 times instead of RUN to OFF.
Norm Birtley Mr Bartley thank you! Your directions were great and it worked on my 2014 Navigaor. You made me so happy, thanks again.
Thanks! 07 and my windows are bouncing.
2014 super duty with bounce back issues here. Thanks so much!
This solution DOES work on my 2016 F-150. A few notes that I found make it easier though.
1) I would suggest you have two people for this
2) Put the in-channel visor in place
3) Person #1 sit in the driver's seat so they can operate the windows from the inside
4)Person #2 stand outside the window and slightly pull the in-channel visor outward at the top where it meets the door frame while the window goes up (this allows a bigger gap for the window to slide in)
5)When ready, Person #1 raise the window...it will trip at the top and begin coming back down but keep the window button pulled up
6)When the window has come to a stop (about halfway up), let go of the button and then quickly pull upward on it again
7)This time the window should go up and stay up
***I would suggest leaving the windows up as long as you can once they are closed to allow the molding more time to flex***
Good luck
Just got my wife an 08 MKX, and bought her in channel vent visors. And yup, windows now bounce back. Hope this works for us.
Great! guys at truck shop were trying to sell me stick on window vents but I don't like the look as much as the in channel ones ,they said window will just come back down and they are having all kinds of problems with the auto up, I spent about 30 seconds and found your vid on how to fix that issue, great job, thanks
Kristin Olsen We are glad we help. Thanks!
How did that work out for you lol?
That clicking noise is ware on the worm gear that rolls the window up and down.
That sound is proof that you are causing premature ware.
You are very welcome Sonja! We are glad we could help you out!
Awesome!!! My 2017 Fusion started bounce back after just 400 miles. The Ford dealer wanted me to bring it in and leave it for a couple of days. Thank you.
Theres actually a recall for the Fusion bounce back
Wrong - wrong - wrong. All that happens during the 48 hour wait is that the wind deflector settles in the channel between the door and the glass.
There is a relearning procedure for this but the method varies from model to model
I know Im kinda randomly asking but do anyone know a good place to stream new series online?
@Jaziel Paxton I use Flixzone. Just search on google for it =)
@Ahmed Ryan yup, I have been using Flixzone for months myself =)
@Ahmed Ryan thank you, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I really appreciate it!
@Jaziel Paxton No problem =)
Thank you. I don't have visors but my auto up stopped working on my 14 f250. Just did it while driving and they work
Thank you so much for the video I have a2021 f150 and install the in channel rain visor and the auto window stop working but thanks to your video you help me fix the problem that the manual did not cover
Glad it helped!
My 2014 sienna passenger window does this now... goes up and then comes back down half way. I will try this hope it works
2014 F350 all I had to do was with the key in the Run position with the engine off hold window switch up for 10 seconds
After closing the door it comes back down any advice?
I'm having a similar problem in my 06 Ford 500, where no matter where the window is stopped, halfway or above, if I hit the auto up it automatically drops a bit. If I go and hit up again, it drops even more. This was before I put window deflectors on
@REAL TRUCK I got a problem on mine: it won't let the front windows close all the way up. I saw some videos on how to do fix it. No methods worked.
Sad that I’m needing to do this on my 2020 explorer
You just rescued me from a ton of frustration! Thank you!
Glad we could help!
You just saved me hundreds of dollars and stress
Thank you blessings 🙏🏼🙌🏽✊🏼
Glad we could help, Jasmine!
will this work with the visors installed
I don't have a visor but in my 2016 truck any little bump or little rough road will make window bounce back down. It is so annoying the safety sensor is extra sensitive I don't think this will help but I'll try it
iim going t try it to please let me know if it worked for you, i also have the 2016 f150 and the bounce back is so annoying
My back windows are auto too but won't stay up. I one click motion, only by notching it up bit by bit.
This did not work on a 2009 Expedition with nothing blocking the window channel.
I'm having a similar problem with my window on my 05 mustang gt, but I can't hold up on the window switch without it bouncing back so I can't hold the switch for two seconds. Any other suggestions?
+Greg Mccoy Try this.
DE-INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE
De-initialization (un-learning) of the smart window motor clears the memory of the module and shuts off the One-Touch UP, Bounce Back and Short Drop functions.
The smart window motors can be de-initialized in two (2) different ways:
Disconnect the battery cable from the battery WHILE THE WINDOW IS MOVING.
Remove the window motor fuse from the Power Distribution Box WHILE THE WINDOW IS MOVING.
After performing one of the above procedures, the smart motor must be re-initialized, see Initialization Procedure.
INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE
INITIALIZATION MUST BE PERFORMED WITH THE DOOR CLOSED! (For convertibles, top and the quarter glass must be in the up / closed position.)
From the window switch, perform the following steps without stopping:
Operate the window UP and stall for 2 seconds. (Hold The Switch)
Operate the window DOWN and stall for 2 seconds. (Hold The Switch)
The smart window motor will be initialized and one-touch-UP and Short Drop will be operational.
Cycle the window glass an additional five (5) times to set the window
"Soft Stop" for the down position.
@@Realtruck I'm assuming this will also work on a 07 Mustang . as I am haveing the same issue
so I'll give this a try thanks..
Luke Hinkel Thanks Luke! We will give this a try.
***** If you tried it, did it work? I tried what you suggested in the video and didn't have any success.
Have not had the opportunity as of yet to try that method but when we do and if it works we will certainly let everyone know.
Well, I just got done trying it myself....and it works perfect! Now the windows go up, and stay up!
Glad I could help you guys
Omg thank you. this just started happening and your solution worked.
Zane,
Our pleasure. Let us know if we can help in any way.
Saved my life dammmmm had this issue for a long time was about to purchase a brand-new module. Thanks for your video. Problem is fixed. Unbelievable worked on a Toyota Aurion thank you
No work. When I heals the drivers window switch in up position, the window raised and began lowering while I was holding switch
Doesn't work on a 2008 ford expi.
At first this didn't work, but then I had a Guinness Extra Stout, relaxed, reviewed the video, and it worked.
The 48 hour thing don't work taking the fuse out does
I installed the weather tech window deflectors and did this and it still does the bounce back. Is there something I may have done wrong as far the whole installation process or is there another way to fix this. Also it was only the passenger side when i tried it, now both sides do it.

I say "Do the override and TEACH your kids to keep their fingers out of the window!" lol
Safety feature is on the front windows only? How many kids are in the front seat, especially the driver seat?
In your face blank lots. I have personally seen this quite often. Someone gets out of the car or truck to talk to somebody for a minute and the kids are messing with the windows. I am not saying this is a good thing to have children running wild in the vehicle, however, it does happen. Another huge issue is pets stepping on the switch. One thing we should always try to remember. The reason for safety suggestions and/or equipment is usually because someone has had an incident because the safety features weren't present. Thanks for the question.
***** I understand its purpose, seems like the back windows would have the feature as well. By the way. Thanks for the tip. That worked for me! :-)
In your face blank you're welcome. Yes I agree. It would make sense to have it on the back as well. Auto manufacturers. Go figure lol!
Probably because they don't put the auto-up in the back windows and they figure if someone's pressing the switch and gets their head stuck, they'll let up on the switch pretty quick.
Good point.
My 2019 F250 window goes up & down in short spurts
So good advice...thanks much
Glad it was helpful!
this is not the normal procedure.....
it can be done in seconds rather than 48 hours.
here is the procedure....it works. just performed on a 2015 expedition
NOTE:Initialization is required to learn both the full UP and full DOWN positions and the profile of the glass as it travels through the glass channel.
All window components (window glass, window regulator, window motor and glass top run) must be installed and tightened to specification before carrying out this procedure. Refer to the De-Initialization Procedure in this section prior to performing the window motor initialization (unless a new motor is being installed).
NOTE:A new (or de-initialized) LF/RF (Navigator) or LF (Expedition) window motor will not operate in one-touch up mode until initialized. If a new LF/RF window motor has been installed, proceed to the Window Motor Initialization procedure in this section.
NOTE:Excessive bounce-back (window reverses direction with no obstructions present) may indicate that a de-initialization procedure may need to be performed.
De-Initialization Procedure
Start with the ignition key in the RUN position and open one front door.
NOTE:Steps 2 and 3 must be performed within 8 seconds.
Turn the ignition key from OFF to RUN 5 times.
Press the window control switch to the one-touch DOWN position (second detent) and release.
Window Motor Initialization
WARNING: Keep objects and body parts clear of the glass panel when carrying out the initialization procedure.
If the window does not operate correctly, carefully repeat this procedure.
any idea how this is accomplished with push button ignition?
This procedure worked for me but I had to hit run/stop 10 times not 5. Thanks
Yeah, I have a 2015 F150 and this method absolutely does not work like they make it seem too.
How to retrain:
- first you must kill power to each window while it is in travel, either up or down by either pulling the fuse for each window while it is traveling or disconnect the battery, I pulled the fuses. They are 30 amp fuses located in the passenger side kick panel in fuse positions 1 (drivers) and 3 ( passengers). This resets the motors
- after this is completed replace the fuses.
+Rick Hickman although I cannot see the rest of the reply. I assume after killing the power u just give the power back????
Rick that is correct.
Did this technique work for you? I just bought a 2017 F150 Lariat, and I am trying to decide which visors to install...
Lol
Thanks Doug!
I'm gonna give this a try this. I tried going to my local ford dealership and they basically denied the problem exists and said I was crazy smh
Can I just do the battery instead? I dont want /know how to take my door apart.
@@ChiTownRaised I've read you can also pull the fuse.
Hi there , I have 2019 transit 250 , we change the driver's door, and now the driver's window rolls down one second and stops , and so on until goes all the way down, same to rolling up , any advice,
thank you in advance ..
It did not work for me
I have seen a few ways of fixing this. That is the easiest.
This is not an issue this is a safety procedure
Same issue on Chrysler 200 2016.
is that the same process for a nissan murano?
Joey,
Typically this would be a universal fix. However if it does not work for you, you might need to call the manufacturer for your vent shades.
RealTruck.com thanks for the reply
will this work for chevy also?
YES THIS WORKS WITH THE CHEVY ALSO I DID WHAT LUKE SAID, WORKS GREAT!! THANKS LUKE HINKEL
My window will not rise fully into the channel. It stops at bottom visor.
+Jerry Sutphin not sure what brand you have, but some of those come with spacers that you put in in the front where the visor would first contact the window. This holds the visor out of the way of the window allowing you to force it up to complete the bounce back re-learn.
mine is physically hitting the visor. I understand i probably installed it wrong...any tips on somthing I could stick in there to give me that extra space? or could I cut a tiny piece off
Clark, we recommend giving us a call and speaking to one of our truck experts. You can reach us at 877-841-9213.
Yes I use lens cleaner wipes to fix my window issues. Just shimmy them in there and I'll make a little extra space and then voila!
@1:30 is where the you get the info you need
Does anyone have a fix for 2010 Navigator?
KCAA TV did you find a solution for your Navigator? Mine is having the same issue
Good job Doug burton.
sir u r a legend thank you
Oh and here is how to actually repair the issue you describe here on our 2016.
Simultaneously raise the window up in small increments until
fully closed.
3. If safety features cause the window to go down, reset the window by:
My Toyota Highlander is all (4)
How can you raise the window up all the way if the window is bouncing back?
Hey Joseph, if you followed the video's instructions but you're still struggling with getting it to work - we'd recommend calling the manufacturer of the part you have direct for help! These can be a tricky install.
No, wow.
Doesn't work
Thataway 😆
I have a 2008 expedition with a new regulator. It goes up automatically and when it fully closes it comes back down a few inches. I've tried this reinitializing and it doesn't work. Any ideas would be appreciated
+Tritonone if you have tried this tip the best course of action would be to contact the manufacturer of the vent shades. They may have additional help for troubleshooting these problems. Usually when this is happening it's because something is obstructing the track.
I'm sorry it doesn't have shades. Installed regulator and about two weeks later it started doing that
Okay, this video was shot to show you how to reset your system once vent shades have been added. It sounds like something might be wrong with your regulator. I would check all of your connections and call the manufacturer that you got the product from.
