I too had a full set of PXG irons. I'm 65 and was starting to struggle with my irons so I bought a 3H from Lazrus. Was so impressed that I ended up having 3-PW and just recently bought a gap wedge from them. Looking down at a gap hybrid is interesting lol. But I can hit it around 115 yards. Best decision I ever made. I've been using Lagato golf balls, but Lazrus recently came out with their own golf balls so I bought a dozen to try out this weekend. I've gained yardage on every club in the bag. My PW is now my 130 club. It's made the game so much more enjoyable.
great to have an update on these, been looking at these for a while, I am around the same handicap as you, a few years younger. Only think you might want to compare is the loft from Hybrid to your old irons, this could explain the distance gain. What I found was the hybrid left covers to 1 less clubs (example 6 Hybrid loft more comparable to a 5 Iron Loft). I am considering the change to these for next season
I used to be an 8 handicapper. I had not played for 27 years and retired at 60 years old at the end of May. I decided to take up golf again and still had my clubs but my first attempt with my 30+ year old irons was awful. Second 18 holes was slightly better, and third a bit better still. Anyway, I bought the full 1-GW hybrid set (11 clubs) and have been blown away with the quality and consistency of striking. I'm not ready to start putting in cards yet to regain my handicap, but expect it to be around 12 from the start, especially as I'm now able to play 3-4 times per week. I have just invested in the Lazrus 3-wedge set too, but yet to try them on the course.
Thanks for doing this review and update. I appreciate that you are a "regular" person playing golf, like so many of us are, as opposed to pros with 90 MPH+ 7 iron swings reviewing clubs. I've been thinking about hybrids for a while. I'm currently 16 HCP, play PXG 0211 irons, which I hit pretty well and plenty high. However, there are times that I think "a hybrid iron" may be better. When I look on the Lazarus website I notice that the 7 hybrid-iron loft is 32*, and my current 7 iron is 28*. I wondered if there would be a loss in distance with the Lazarus because it's 4* weaker. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems you have gained yardage vs loss. Anyway, thanks for your update and looking forward to seeing more content from you!
Hello I have never had a hybrid in my hand but noticed several fellows i play with have 1 or 2 and love by them so i was looking for a set on Facebook when a customer of mine noticed a page on my computer for hybrids he told me he had a set of Lazrus 1 thru sw that were the best clubs he has ever had and he would sell them to me for 200 dollars he liked them so much that he purchased a new set from Lazrus so i got them and WOW i have been blown away they are 2 clubs stronger than my titlist AP3's and after 12 rounds im shouting 74 and have yet to hit a bad shot so i have ordered a new set as well Mike
Hi Joey. My first comment on your channel. Hey, I'm a 15 handicap 70 year old guy. I have always struggled hitting irons. I have a Cobra 4 hybrid and a TaylorMade 3:hybrid and love them. Having so much problem with the mid irons, I decided to get a 6,7,8 and 9. Wow! They're everything you say in this video! So high and long! I am amazed! They feel so solid and the ball actually goes straighter. I'm a believer!! Great value! Great product. I hope they hold up for the long haul. But for $69 each? I'll replace them if needed. Enjoy Myrtle!!! Just returned.
I have the Lazrus 1h,2h,3h,4h,5h,6h hybrid clubs. You cannot shank these clubs. You will not chunk them. The ball will get up in the air. If you struggle with any of these issues you should get these clubs! I also carry Tour Edge HL C522 7i- PW and carry Yamoto 50°,54°,58°. Love my set up!
Hi my buddy has these LAZRUS clubs and seems to like them I am actually thinking of getting the ELEVENS hybrid irons 3 - PW i am 59 and a 6.7 handicap why not use these and make golf easier is right thx for your video cheers from Canada
Hi. I live in the U.K…5 years ago at 70 I was playing off 8. I’m now playing off 18 and looking for more length.I’m over in the Villages Florida in October and will take your advice of buying one club and testing it against my Ping G15’s.I’ve just subscribed to your channel and not looked at any other videos yet but will do as soon as I’ve wrote this. We do have the Eleven hybrids available in the U.K. but have been enthused by your enthusiasm at the Lazarus hybrids. I’ll keep you posted on the start of my new journey. Thank you. Mike
I just had a similar experience with a different brand. I’m a much higher handicapper than you, but I was hitting straighter and longer from the first few strokes. I bought mine for 30% less than Lazarus, mainly cause Lazarus were out of stock for ages, mine came with covers. Grips were too skinny for my hands as well. I did the opposite to you, I took the 4h out for the first game cause I struggle with a 4iron and from the first shot I was smiling, which is not always the case for us high handicap players 😅😂.
I started with the 6 hybrid and then purchased the 7 and 8. I haven’t figured out the distances quite yet but they are at least a club longer than my old 6-8 irons. I want to get the 5 hybrid but it is out of stock. I may also look at a 2 hybrid as a fairway wood replacement. Good luck in Myrtle Beach. The weather is currently perfect here.
Hey there!! I have the 2 hybrid. I found the regular flex shaft a bit too whippy for me. I do not feel the same with the shorter clubs. The regular flex shaft is great for me in those! I do have a 2 hybrid from a company called Pinemeadow golf and I crush that thing!
I live is Australia and have been looking at these clubs lately as I have the same issue as yourself with shanking, cannot shake it. Only been happening in last 2 months. I can hit my woods and hybrids no problem just my irons so been looking for an alternative and seen the lazurus and after your vids on them I am going to get them. By the way how did u fix your shanks?
Don't know.. But I know it's not me... LOL... They are great clubs. You can order just one of them. Try it out, You will be shocked! I would recommend like the 6 or 7 hybrid to start

Yep!! That is why I have been shouting from the mountain top!! Makes the game easier!

I love it!!! People were busting my balls so bad until I started to hit shots high, long, and soft!!!

The Elevens have gotten great reviews also!

I actually took a lesson to fix the shanks. But the nice thing about the Hybrids is I never even think about it!
Does it feel like the swing weight in the head is heavier with the hybrid vs irons?
I would say yes.. But they go so high and land so soft. And the added distance! Forget about it! LOL.. You won't be disappointed
Anyone using these clubs with the Single plane golf swing?
