  • This was probably my fault... as that afternoon while looking from the rim at Crater Lake down into the bluest water I had ever seen, I said something dumb along the lines of "wouldn't this place be pretty in the snow?" Hmmmmmmmmm Mazama Campground can surprise you with weather! Be prepared! We woke up to snow falling and it was going to be our travel day. Without cell service, we had no idea how much snow was expected or how long it was going to last.

    Thanks for stopping by! This is a super old video (I've come a long way) and we are now full time in our Grand Design Imagine XLS 17MKE and have traveled through over 35 states! For something newer, check out: ruclips.net/video/ien8LN3fvw0/видео.html
    A bit silly, but fun!

    Another very nice video, looks like a great place to be and enjoy cold weather camping.

      We knew we had some weather coming in, but expected RAIN, not snow! I think the dog liked it though! It is a really pretty place - if we weren't on a schedule, would love to sit out a snow storm there!

    Another nice video. Your narration is solid and I like your choice of music. Keep up the great work!

      Thank you! This means a lot to me - I was struggling talking during a few of these - my mom had just passed away and my voice wasn't strong to me. Needed to do something creative and honor her by continuing with our travels - she loved to travel. Thank you so much!

      Travel Small Live Big Well, you were successful on both counts. Creative. And, you definitely honored your mom! Take care and keeping traveling (and sharing)!

      I would have loved to see the lake with snow! It would be great to sit in the lodge with a hot drink and watch the snow fall. Knowing we had to drive and how wet & muddy the floor of the trailer was getting with our dog - not so much fun - ha ha! It was still great though :)

    OMG - Kirby would have died! Haha! This never happened to us but then we were always further south by mid September. Looks like as a side benefit, you almost had the place to yourselves! Nice!! And I loved your decorations - done as only you can do!

      Awww thanks Suzie! Had we not been on schedule to head South, we may have enjoyed it for a few days - just something different! Would be fun to sit inside trailer drinking hot toddys while watching the snow fall out the windows. But then I would have to walk the dog... ha ha!!!

    The snow is so pretty but I don't like driving in it.

      It is really pretty - I would have loved to have been up on the rim of Crater Lake to see it with snow, but no way did we want to drive back up that windy road again! And towing a trailer - eek. Thanks for watching!

    Are you aware that if you spray your tires with clorox bleach, in a slippery area, it's just like putting chains on. They do the drag racing

    • @TravelSmallLiveBig
      @TravelSmallLiveBig  7 лет назад

      Interesting! I looked it up on snopes - they do use it for ice racing, but supposedly it will deteriorate your tires. I think we will just stick to warmer campgrounds - ha ha!

    Pretty surprise, but yeah, towing in ice/snow....PASS!

      It was pretty! But not what we wanted to deal with. If we had a few more days it would have been fun to stay until the storm went through and it melted, but as usual never enough time! Lexie would have enjoyed the snow, Jim not so much...

      Hi Charly ~ I believe we were in E-10 and our friends were in E-8. Have you been there? I have another video just on the campground itself. We enjoyed it!
