He looks in more pain that he did in the first movie and that's saying a lot because he basically lost everything in the first movie. Starting from getting to know the truth about his mother, to getting laughed at by his idol Murray, to getting punched by Thomas Wayne, suffocating his own mother. I really wonder what caused him to become this sad

So he does as he wants with her, so sure she's not real he even mistreats her, only to find that she loves him for doing so, the fucking comedy that is attraction. It could be that she's the one thing that could really cure him, and she's the one cure the "doctors" took away forever. With a character this good and and actor as good as him, they could do almost anything.
