Mad respect for that car enthusiast passion
Anything with popup headlights is cool in my book.
Such a beautiful piece of automotive design and engineering. One of the few convertible cars that I find appealing.
SEAC stood for Special Equipment Aramid Composite - carbon-fibre and Kevlar were used in the body.
My Dad currently owns a Tvr Chimaera 500 we love it
The professionalism of the edits and cinematography is great, Nice job guys
Thanks 1Man! We put a lot of effort into these Readers' Rides, so awesome to see the work appreciated :)
Yeah this is like a very good quality mini movie
Lovely car. I was at TVR when Peter Wheeler was building these cars and Chris Shirle was the Chief Engineer. Something most people don't know, TVR built one of these with an all aluminum chevy based V8 with a full rose jointed suspension. (Yes, I have photos of the car on the trailer at TVR and factory photos from when these cars were produced. I'd love to get one of these for memories' sake.
Remington Steele Was that Peter Wheelers Elephant with the Holden V8... or the one off 660 SEAC? I’m probably wrong on both, my memory gets worse as I age lol.. Had a 450 SEAC before this 420, loved them both.. Now regret selling them of course ;)
@@woooster17 It was the one off 660 SEAC. The Buyer or Buyer agent from Sweden had a turbocharged BMW, probably was Alpina, and took me for a crazy drive in his car before leaving with the tow track that flatbedded the 660 SEAC to Sweden if I recall correctly.
@@LenaKatinaManager Ahh, ok yes I remember that car.. a guy who owned a silver 450 SEAC at the same time as me tried to buy the 660, sadly unsuccessfully. I seem to remember it had a big wing spoiler, different to the normal SEAC wing? A monster SEAC!
@@woooster17 That'll be 'Stainless Steve' Wayne - I'm 'Dickymint' by the way hope your well buddy 👍
Nice looking car with great sound and having no roof always makes the moment even better
Amazing car. Glorious noise and looks.
I have a Chimaera 450 and I plan to be buried in it because I never want to be parted from it. It's that good. And it's never broken down in 6 years.
dad had a Grif, Cerbera and Chimera... I miss them tbh
i remember when i was about 10 seeing a 400se in a showroom and asking my mum to buy it! great video
I love these readers rides. More please
I never comment on RUclips videos, but thanks for that. Really nice to see a video that's just about people who like cars, without any fanfare or fuss.
Cheers
Ahhh tvr, always had a spot for them.
Awesome. Good man. We need more TVRs to be revealed to the automotive public.
Fabulous video. Well done....from an ex-280i, 390SE and 400SE owner. :)
Can't get any better than a TVR
Wayne seems like a lovely guy and has an awesome story to hear about. Great work. :)
TVR 450 SEAC - H5 SEAC is in my fantasy garage.
Love TVRs. I really hope their latest resurrection brings them back to prominence.
BEAUTIFUL car Wayne! Super happy for you.
Thank you, very kind!
Those wheels are amazing.
It does have one of the best sound I've ever heard.
300hp.... nice figure. great car. great video.
What a great video guys, thanks so much for sharing. Very cool!
Beautiful car inside and out. Love the way you sit right near the back of the car. Must be a great view from the driver's seat.
jharris947 Thanks, I love driving this car, it never fails to put a smile on my face!
I've loved TVRs since the 70's including this one. I would get rid of the rear spoiler, though.
Didnt know about this Seac until now, realy like TVRs especially Tuscan
Stunning car , TVR. Come back bigger and better
That rover v8 sings like an angel. Although the Griffith 500 with a 5.0 version of the same engine is even better.
Just to point out, the engine in my SEAC is a modified Griffith 500 engine with just over 300bhp, the original block cracked in 2000 whilst competing in a TVR sponsored Sprint event.
waynester71 that's awesome. I couldn't get my rover v8 to make power for the life of me. It was a 4.6 with a big cam, big valve ported heads, modified intake manifold, long tube headers, straight piped with no cats and a full remap with bigger injectors.
The result? Well you can see my channel for a 0-60 with my disco, and uh.... It made almost 280whp.
The biggest problem I had was the fact that even though I had put 4000$ into it, my 2000$ prelude with bolt ons and cams was easier to work on, much faster, better mileage, sounded just as good, and was more fun to drive in general due to being a manual :/
+Alex Fry They are notoriously difficult to get big power from. The biggest restriction to the SEAC is the exhaust manifolds, the space is marginal due to chassis interference so the bore size is smaller than in the equivalent TVR Griffith. My engine has had more money than I care to mention thrown at it over the years. The enlarged throttle body, larger carbon fibre plenum, intake trumpets and bigger bore full stainless steel exhaust being the latest. Power is good enough..for now, I rarely push the car hard. I simply enjoy the spine tingling engine noise!
Cheers.
Wow...this is 3 1/2 years ago I made this.. miss my old TVR, but love my REVO 4 Focus RS.. Maybe I’ll get another Wedge TVR one day. Great cars.
That is an awesome Trevor. Sounds FANTASTIC!
TVR Blaze it.
cop who buys a 420......... does no one else see the hilarity in that? (also waiting for someone to take this too seriously)
*ba-dumb tss*
that one-off wheel detail is pretty cool
Really smooth and beautiful editing…keep it up!
I'd feel obligated to smoke the marijuana's in the car.
5:44 there is even a 420 on the car itself
vivalaphill Because that's totally not what he was referring to
i just want to point that out...
On a serious note great guy great car. He's a credit to enthusiastic men
As usual, car throttle have once again completed my day :)
stunning car... paint and interior colours are super and work very well together....
I havnt see a tvr in years you used to see groups of them all the time in the summer
great choice of car big TVR fan
This vid is still new got made to day.
Wow this cop has incredible taste
I think I saw you out and about back in summer around Ross on Wye.
Please please take that moody Halfords V8 badge of the boot of the Tvr. :(
love tvrs very nice car had tvrs for 20 years now
nice cars
theres a crew of tvr owners in my area, best noise ever
Rare sports cars is a good money investment
I would get a green one with the 420 in yellow and get an air horn for a car horn and honk it constantly at 420. And maybe a marajuana decal.
Still Wartung for the best Diesel Sounds!
She's a beauty for sure
I personaly do not like the design of this car... but it is remarkable and unique for sure :) and like its sound as well!
Such a lovely car!
Thank you
Probably the best TVR ever. Almost impossible to find these days
markmywords312 Kinda wish I’d not sold it.. love my Mk2 Focus RS, but that V8 soundtrack is something else
Why you no post best 4 cylinder engines?? I've been waiting forever for it.
Because there is no such thing as a good sounding 4 banger...
Because a V8 would beat a 4 cylinder piece of crap anyday
Joe Barbaro And here we see the wild douchebag
Cory Brayshaw >muh V8
Joe Barbaro
V8 Rules you get the BHP and the Tourque
TVR always made the best sounding and aggressive looking cars.
If I ever had a choice between a Lamborghini or a TVR, I'd always pick TVR because they're more reliable, cheaper and sound like they want to rip your fucking face off.
And that's why I bought this TVR.. they are great cars. This is my 6th!
Wait, are they reliable? If I remember correctly, Jeremy Clarkson said they were very unreliable, but then again, my memory could be fooling me or he could be wrong.
MrMrMaran Depends if you buy a good model, if you're no good with cars and buy a bad one, you will spend a fortune repairing it.
TVR's are teribly unreliable, i've head some right horror storys.
They make great cars, but they really aren't reliable, but they're so basic which means that repairs are simple!
Lovely car! Lovely colour!
that sound tho :3 i dont know why but to me the 420 seac looks like an smaller version of an Lotus espirit.
Designed by the same guy.. Oliver Winterbottom
great format keep it going :)
Great looking car right colour right stance v8 burble if I was lucky enough to own such a car I would never let it go. You jammy bugger
I did.... bought a Mk2 Focus RS.. Yep, I’m missing the SEAC 😏
Must be a damn good pension plan!
Final salary so 30k plus a year
Police pension is generous!
far too generous
4:45 it looks like he's cut the bumper himself shoddy.
Fitting the new larger bore exhaust did the damage to the edges.. it's on my short list of things I want to fix over winter.
love that video!
Long live the wedges.
Very cool....
420 blaze it
Yeah right had a ‘450’ SEAC then went for a 420 after instead... lol ... hilarious!
MakingMoney.Tv The 450 was G968 DWP, bought from a chap in Liverpool.. I sold it to buy a new at the time Focus ST.. then sold that, and bought another SEAC, this car ^ Hope that helps.
Woo new video!!
TVR #420 !
Great images but extremly poor audio qualety
The shape of his head matches the lines of the car
Now that made me laugh.. like pet owners when they start looking like their pets!! ;-)
0:22 'being the age that I'm at- mid 80s'
Sick noise
well he must have been a cool cop
Probably he street race when he's not doing his job
Isn't his number plate illegal?
Love it
my bro has a 1980 honda prelood
Answer : The Noise? :)
How much do they pay officers in Europe?
Thats funny because we bought our Chimaera from Fernhurst TVR
These group of tvr owners in my area, they all sound sick
I dont get it. Is this guy never going to walk again or what? Back injury can mean a lot of things.
Back when TVRs didn't look weird
They are still really cool though
David Kraan Yeah. But it's too unusual for my taste, but I must have ocd I guess.
Special car , only going up
How much does one of these cost?
About £18-25k.. condition dependant of course.. Paid £22k for mine 2 years ago
Wonder if he speeds...
Must be the best around...
I dont know why,but when I read the title I thought it said ''Retarted'' instead of "Retired''...XD
Awesome car though:)
Pssh, because it has "420" in it, DUH! Lol.
Zane Drummond you must be to the top
Ironic number plate ay...
this car so sexayyyy
People commenting there opinion before they watch the video..
04:40,Cee'd in reflection :)
Is sad that he have to leave motorbikes behind
You should split these videos off to a new channel. Some of this higher quality stuff gets mixed with the spammier ones.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY First comment, interesting car, I never knew TVR made cars, I thought they just made bikes.
Reconsider this
Christian Waters crap... the page reloaded before i was done commenting xD false alarm brain

I really like TVR's but they are just sooo bad as cars when you look into them and more importantly underneath them. My dad bought a 450 Chim as a replacement for VX220 Turbo and it was a lot faster just handled like a boat and more you looked into the car the worse it got, he had it less than a week and it went back to the specialist it came from!
