Beautiful setup. I got an '01 that I've been doing a ton of work too. I really appreciate how you break down everything a lot more than most people do.
That's a bad ass build and wish I could do that to mine. That white excursion you seen is a superduty conversion from a company. You can tell its a 6.7 powerstroke with excursion cab on the chassis. More the likely is has the interior from the truck also. Can wait to see your excursion done
Looks great. So glad you did this setup, I am looking to do the same thing in the front of my 02 7.3 Ex - I just wrapped up a bunch of updating on the top side of the motor. Transmission build will be next, followed by 05 swap and 4-link in the front. But I’ll have some time between those projects, so it’s going to be a bit. I have not decided yet what to do in the rear - I am very curious to see how the Carli leaf spring with long travel bags and kings work. Are you putting traction bars back there for axle wrap? I’m keeping the body retro on mine, I updated headlights and blacked out bumpers and trim with flat dip with my DYC gun and it looks clean. I might do the dash - but I think I’ll build something custom vs 08+ swap. I just did katzkin for now to freshen it up with stock colors.
We don't believe the rear needs traction bars. It's mostly for comfort and possibly some light crawling. Alex said he's not planning on doing any four wheel burnouts or launches.
Heck yah! We will see if we can get Alex a parts list together. He usually keeps it all logged into his brain and can spit it out. It's capturing enough time to get it written down.
good stuff. Correct me if i’m wrong but with a dual spring the benefits are only had when you have two different spring rates and a spring divider stop. (or the helper spring reaches coil bind). So if you’re just a pavement princess then it doesn’t matter, hehe, i’m not sure if you were joking about only going to the mall but it’s surprising how much people spend on a rig to just look cool. Also, if the springs actually are the same rate then what you were told is false, one spring will not compress before the other. And actually even with different spring rates both springs compress at the same time but in proportion to the ratio of the two spring rates.
Alex was only teasing about being only a mall crawler. He plans to take it off road (although the full extent of the suspension will likely never be seen). The spring rates being the same means they both compress at the same time in the same manner. If they were different it affects how the wheel comes toward the cab versus how the cab dips toward the wheel. So depending on your particular needs for off-roading.
Alex is working on a steering box replacement. There was a bit of wonder from the bad steering box before the lift, and nothing new or worsened after the lift.

Here's what I don't get about modifying a truck to the nth degree to be a "Rock Crawler Supreme": are you going to actually endanger these expensive upgrades afterwards? I've seen guys spend $100K building one of these Mad Max beasts, only to have it roll off the cliff they decided to test it on. To me, it's as impractical as applying a ton of racecar tech to a street car that will never see the track. Then becoming useless to drive average streets without ripping off half your hard work. Ah well... To each their own! 🤔
So do you take issue with spending money you consider to be a lot on a project? Or is your issue with the potential it may not be used? These parts may be expensive (this is relative) but are also built to be used not just to achieve a look. Although, you could just spend it to achieve a look if you wanted as you said, but what's the fun in that?

We didn't always. We are still learning how to work the RUclipss, but we appreciate the kind words.

It's almost complete now. Added some mirrors and waiting on a spot to paint the new hood.
Could you put a build list together for everything you needed for this suspension and toss it in the comments? thanks!
If we can set aside some time to gather up all the receipts we will gladly do this for you.
Thank you for the video!
Thank you for watching!
Truck looks good so far
Thank you so much. It's getting there. Needs some cleaning up and fresh paint.

Gotcha. Sounds good. Thanks for responding.
Anytime!
Beautiful truck . I love my 05 v10 4x4. The kids love off-roading in that thing,
Exactly! That's why Alex bought the tank. We love hearing others out there are sharing adventures in their Excursions with their kiddos!
I am waiting patiently for the Excursion update!🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Alex was going to film an update this week, but we he had some things come up so he had to postpone. Hang tight thought it's coming soon.
Dream set up!
It was Alex's too.
I have a 2000 V10 version. Do you have a parts list? I really like the look of your excursion.

@@JustDriven Thanks boss! I think a lot of us would greatly appreciate that and would benefit from the list in multiple ways! Thanks for the reply!

I would love to build a excursion with this setup. From a stock excursion what range $$$ are we talking? With all necessary upgrades.
Between $5k-$15k depending on axles and coilovers and gearing.
is nice to upgrade parts for your ride nice 👍
Alex is pretty psyched.
Nice wheel choice 👌
If there is one thing Alex knows, it's wheels.
Any notorious wonder steering with that set up?

Can you lower from 8 inch to 4 inch lift ? If so is it expensive
No, you can't make it a 4 inch lift and it was pretty expensive.

Your money, Your choice 🎉 simple. Long as nobody else is getting hurt.
I like everything but the wheel color.....
black and bronze is always a good combination
@@jamdc2000I'd think that too, but it's a matter of taste in the end. Wheels are often the most polarizing thing
@@marcleekes3040 I would say that the most polarized thing is window tint
