My sister accidentally made Patrick say these two phrases back-to-back:
"I don't think Spongebob's underwear fits quite right..."
"Hard as a rock!"
_oh no_
Time to delete my eyes
Oh no...
yea, lets just say the loading screen on the switch is the reason why I fear dying
Eh I've been through worse.
I really wish I had preordered the PC version instead, but that was before I knew I was going to build a bomb ass gaming PC. Oh well, it's not unplayable, and at least I got the shiny edition.
absolutely. I have the switch version of rehydrated, and it's just... cancerous...
Its not too bad
I grinded shiny objects just fine
Ive seen worse
The switch version is, despite a few drawbacks, still compleatly playable and i had a very fun time
@@muffet1536 true. But one thing i dont lile about rhw remake is that there is a dabbing kid in it.
The thrust on patrick's attack is one of my favorite additions.
It’s like spongebobs jump stall but with Patrick. Gets that little bit further
T H I C C
Pelvic thrust!!!! Land on right foot , don’t forget it !!!!
@@AverageJoe483 Now bring it arooound toooown
I'm Swan Ronson ha ha ha ha ha it’s a giraffe!!!! 🦒
The change from snow to sand makes sense as in the show it was sand.
It's also called "Sand Mountain". I thought that was a strange critique.
That statement threw me off. Why be upset over changing it from snow to sand?
@@jakobmayberry7427 Snow looks cooler! Besides, there was already an all-sand level. It coulda just been white sand yknow
9:57 Now, this is a PSA. Don't pay for the theater unless they change it. The artwork is literally the mission preview art from when you look at spatulas in the pause menu. There's no concept art, there's not even the concept art from the original. Just don't worry about it until the placeholder art is replaced.
I did after 100% completing the game and it added a bunch more grinding for no reward. Hopefully they add some new artwork in later or at least give a reason to pay the toll. Overall the remake was a fantastic time but the shiny object grinding was really a pain at the end.
Also the images aren't even high quality. Literally going to the same places in game and taking the same screenshot would give you a better quality picture.
it baffles me that they had concept art that was sold in the FUN edition yet they didnt put it in the theatre... like why????
They finally added concept art 4 months later
To make matters worse for the movie theater, there isn’t even any artwork, it’s just screen shots of the game itself.
Bigtimersh5 🤦♂️
Yeah it was disappointing
excuse me... that is so lame... they couldve at least show some consept art or something!
@@triple.t2100 They did after 4 months lol
When i was 6 i discovered i could hide behind a robot machine all the way on the bottom level of the lighthouse fight. The robots would run into the lasers under you and give you free shiny objects for how ever long you left the game running. This was back in 2006 when i first played bfbb.
lasers is the wrong word.
probably meant the lightening cages over the door and the spatula under the duplicatotrons.
My own Thoughts:
* Spongeball felt much better than the original
* Most of the character changes felt like a Step Forward.
* Making the Bubble Bowl point in the direction of the camera is kind'a awkward.
* Loading Screens are fine on PC, but on Consoles [Particularly the Switch as somebody who owns it on it] can take ages.
* Feels weird that the game has to reload everytime the player dies or gets grabbed by Hands.
* Some of the animations [Robo Sandy, Sandy jumping from an Texas Hook, etc] look unfinished.
* Several bugs can happen throughout. Even on my initial playthrough [On PC with the Day One Patch], I encountered multiple bugs, like the Fish Announcer just not showing up for Bosses, and an way to skip having to do collectable sidequests by just warping from one area with 8 or so Wheels from Downtown to whatever area you need, occasional out of bounds areas, and other little things.
* *Mr. Krabs need to be less greedy in Rehydrated. Please*
I would like to add the camera in game. It gets stuck behind background objects like all the time
I was hoping for Clancy Brown :(
Dude i grinded to open the theater. Im so pissed, its not even concept art anymore, just random ass screenshots from ingame. And its not like hidden stuff you might not have seen either its literally like 5 pictures of random shit you definitely already saw
Exactly! Like at least give me a cutscene viewer or something?
It gets better: those same screenshots are also used in the level select
@@yourlocalcashregister1123 but some people wanted concept art in the remake
2:50 I actually really like the fog in this game because it makes the game look more like it's under water
Personally, I think the particles that are always floating in the water sells that idea the most.
For the german version they got all voicelines remaked with the original voiceactors from the actual show. Thats so amazing
Omg I didn't know, thank you I'll definitely try it out! I hated the original games voices haha
The loading times are very polarizing on this game. I've seen Switch footage on Twitch where it took up to 20 seconds, and some guy on PC with an SSD got like 3 seconds for the same load.
Agreed. This shouldn't be the case, even for a Switch.
The Crash N.Sane trilogy has the same problem, and it was yet to be patched even 3 years after. I hope that BFBB Rehydrated won't fall to the same mistake as Crash and will cut loading screens on other platforms.
You know what would've been cool? After the final boss, you have to go back through the levels and destroy all the robots, and you get a set of spatulas for each level cleared. The robots dont respawn after that. Then, once your done, there's some sort of extra boss fight (a robot plankton forgot he made or something) and then when that's done, you win. Bikini bottom is at peace.
The Mr. Krabs change is absolutely disgusting. Who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to take the most tedious part of the original game and make it over twice as tedious?!?!? I seriously cannot comprehend why they did this.
Mr. Krabs needed a nerf, made so that the average player would have enough to pay him off after every level. This, imo, is one of the biggest flaws with the original game and something that needed to be fixed in the remake. Instead, Purple Lamp gives us the finger, makes the problem way worse and forces us to do brainless grinding for literal hours in order to complete the game. This needs to be patched.
Gamers: Mr. Krabs needs a nerf!!
*Mr. Krabs* : If I don't make any money today I'll surely break out in a rash! Money is the ultimate source of joy.
@@comment1353 I recently did a run of the game where I got absolutely everything in the game except for Mr. Krabs' Spatulas. I'd also collect as many Shiny Objects in my run as possible. This way, I obtained an approximate figure of how many Shiny Objects the average player would need to farm to get 100%.
Upon beating the game and getting 92 Spatulas and every Shiny Object I could, I was left with a little under 18,000 Shiny Objects. This means, in order to get 100%, I'd need to farm over 90,000 Shiny Objects, or 130,000 if I wanted to unlock the theatre as well. Hell, even if I didn't pay any of the clams (which total to around 36,000 or so), I'd still need over 50,000.
This is an absolute meme. Even if the amounts were unchanged as you stated, I'd need to farm around 22,000 or 62,000 of them, which in my opinion is still ridiculous.
I like the game overall but some of the levels were infuriating. Kelp Forest was an annoying maze, while the difficulty really spiked in SB's dream.
G’day mate
What... The...
Gravity Falls being bad?
(Gravity Falls is good)
I’ve had and am still having a ton of fun with this remake of a gem. I still can’t believe we got a remake of BFBB. I’ve owned the original since I was 3, so I was very hyped for this remake. With my first 100% file done, it’s time to find some shortcuts and unintentional maneuvers for some levels. Lately, in my BFBB files, I’ve tried to leave them as untouched as possible while still getting 100%. For example, I won’t activate certain bridges or pay some clams. I’ve already found some shortcuts in Jellyfish Fields, Downtown Bikini Bottom, and Rock Bottom
I found shortcuts in the Mermalair and Goo Lagoon. In the Mermalair at the part where you wall jump up to the computer, you can skip the section where you push the buttons to pull out the walls; if you jump up at the wall, it will activate the checkpoint and you can die to get there. On Goo Lagoon, you can jump off the Goo to get up to the section with the pay clam with the spatula at the end.
I played the original a ton, beat it 10 times over. You hit the nail on the head with the wonky bungee and inverted controls issues. I’m just curious, did you by chance notice the very very annoying feature that water/goo has in this version? When playing through, I felt like even if I barely touched water/goo in any level, I get instant killed way more than the original. There’s a bounce back to land animation, but it only happens like 20% of the time for me. 80% of the time when I get even one step too close to water/goo it’s an instant death with no bounce back to land assist. I noticed this issue a lot in Goo Lagoon near small puddles at the beginning and various other spots on different levels.
Your review and SHiFTs are what I have been excited for
the movie theater doesnt even have artwork in rehydrated, its literally just random screenshots from the game
"I'd rather go stand on a bridge and grind for Shiny Objects for 2 hours"
Welp, that's exactly what I did for an hour to get those spatulas from Mr. Krabs. And let me tell you: it was boring.
Edit: Nvm, he mentioned it in the Video but still, those are way too much Shiny Objects you need considering I only got like 1/5 of them during my entire 100% (Platinum) Run.
I literally just played RUclips in the background while I grinded for enough shiny objects to finish the Krabs missions and get into the theater. The theater isn't worth it in this game, doesn't have concept art like the original one did.
It's mostly because combos don't give you extra shiny objects anymore and also I'm pretty sure they nerfed the purple one? It makes getting the Mr Krabs trophy go from a small side thing to 1-3 hours of grinding.
SpixiCafé combos still give you shiny objects, and the purple shiny definitely exists. the combo issue is because the game won’t let you get above a super-monster combo, which only gives you 40 instead of the max combo giving you 200 in the original
3:45 I greatly appreciated this background music thankyouverymuch:)))))). Edit: AND 7:15 I SEE YOU a man of video game culture
As a switch owner the loading screens took about 15 to 20 seconds to load averagely
Agreed. Do you think that can be fixed with a patch?
@@Agent_3141 Sadly no it's that way because of what the game is stored on when running on switch.
@@Agent_3141 I don't really think so. The Switch is - compared to any other Plattform the game is aviable - very underpowered.
They may decrease loading times via patch a LITTLE bit, if they actually tried to do so in future, but I wouldn't expect huge improvements.
Agent X hopefully if not I guess we’ll just have to live with it
How the hell is 15 or 20 seconds long have you never played games on a Xbox 360 where loading screens can take like 3 minutes to 25 minutes
I agree with pretty much every one of your points you brought up, ESPECIALLY with the Krabs Spatulas - grinding for those was a downright drag.
Purple Lamp clearly have the same passion for Spongebob & BFBB as Heavy Iron did, & Rehydrated proves that. I'd love for them to make an original 3d platformer collectathon, just to see what they're capable of if given full creative liberty.
This was alot more expressive for me somehow. The cutscenes were smoother and the expressions were full of fear. It showed how dangerous the robots really were. My only problem is the wasted potential of robo squidward
The switch version load times are as bad as you imagined. It’s also the only version I’ve seen that has a noticeable FPS slowdowns in multiple areas, including the central hubs, and the amount of aliasing is something I haven’t seen since the ps2 days. And if you thought the fog on the ps4 version was bad, it’s cranked up to 10 here, with enemies sometimes being loaded in in front of you as you’re walking around with no warnings. That tiki bungee you mentioned at the sea spire is buggy as all heck as well. I don’t even think I got all of them and still got the spatula. Along with many visual and audio bug fixes, the switch version needs an massive graphical overhaul to make it play as nearly nice as the other versions. It’s still a fine game, the core mechanics haven’t been touched which is good, but it’s a mess.
Wait that happened to me like an hour ago, died in the secons bungee jump and when i went back krabs gave me the spatula but in the map it appeared as if i didnt got it
MatiESponja Thats exactly what happened to me, possibly a glitch?
@@Sbomb16 very likely
MatiESponja I’m not complaining, that spatula is always a pain to get, but still lol
I just got it yesterday and honestly the worst things about it are the trash anti aliasing and the draw distance. It really makes it feel more like an xbox 360 game or a wii u game. load times are pretty bad too
You lost nothing by skipping the theatre. Just had ten screenshots of locations from in game. Not concept art or anything else. I was so angry I grinded for 40,000 just for that.
Great Review man.
Added note: There is a more efficient way to grind shiny objects than at the Castle in Goo Lagoon. Select Jellyfish Fields and go to the mission "Drain the lake". There is a cave right above you at spawn. Use the cruise missile in there to destroy a lot of stone tikis than purposely die at the lake just behind you. Rinse and repeat. Overall you get 530 (680 from the cave but minus 150 due to death.) every 15 seconds give or take. It looks like the same amount, just at a faster rate to me. Am on PC, so console are going to be longer overall, but this is the best spot to grind regardless that am aware of.
It’s good to see that the other versions of this game are good. I have the switch version and it’s honestly just bad. Frame rate dips frequently, gameplay and audio glitches appear from time to time, and textures and models pop up even when they’re 2 feet away from you. I’d rather play the original.
I regret getting this version, too. I preordered Shiny Edition, and between that time I've built a really good PC. I will say I have a tollerance for more janky performance than most, and as someone like that, it's still very playable for me. But every time I see the ridiculous pop in and blurred signs and stuttering, I can't help but wish I got the PC version. The loading times are also kind of annoying. I was cruising on thin ice preordering this version, considering a lot of times it's a toss up wether a third party dev is going to make a well optimized Switch, but at least it's playable. I feel like with more time in the oven it could have been much more optimized, it's kind of obvious they ran out of time. Maybe it can be improved with patches.
I have the switch one and I don't have any problems but remember not all games will run good and I don't have the audio problems
@@dearsirdearyou4153 It was playable for me but there is a noticeable downgrade. In the pineapple it feels like 60 fps and I was like oh man is this actually gonna be 60 then I went outside snd the drop was huge
@@Cheesehead302 will games are downgraded for the switch because remember it's just a tablet
@@dearsirdearyou4153 I get that, but I feel like this game can definitely be optimized to run at a smoother frame rate.
I'm so glad you mentioned the Tikis on needle tower, that annoyed me so much. Also glad you mentioned the issues with inverted controls. Hated that I had to change the controls back and forth everytime I changed my character. And yes the shiny objects grinding suckeddddd. My game also crashed quite a few times, and I'm on xbox one X. Anyone else have this issue? Other than those issues though I had a really good time with it and I had never played the original
i have a pretty decent pc, my load screens are about a second, surprised the ps4 pro has such long load screens
Sounds like you have an ssd
durrBubbles One second!? On the switch it takes FOREVER.
Yeah on ssd for me its usually a second or so.
I have no ssd and my graphics card is integrated and it takes like 3 to 5 seconds
@@SaturnSZN The switch has the longest loading screens by far out of everything the game was released on
inverted camera on keyboard and mouse Only affected the missile, it made more sense tho, because it is like an aircraft, pull back (down button or s) to go up and push forward (up, w) to go down, its the only time inverted controls make sense to me
I wish it were more optimised for more middle/low end PC setups... there's hardly any graphical options to adjust to attempt to fix this and it's impossible to have the game be in full-screen mode AND at a lower resolution (where the bars at the side/top would be black/bordered). The issue where changing characters also reverts the camera control is really annoying and I had instances where even changing it back in the settings wouldn't fix it afterwards.
I just noticed that the bubble ball is actually shaped like a bowling ball instead of just a thick bubble.
"I look forward to glitch hunting as well." He says over footage of a chuck robot throwing a missile that is *out of its hand and floating right next to it.*
The Sea Needle made me quit playing for like 4 hours before I felt like I could go back in without wanting to throw my controller ngl 😭
I never got to play the original, but based off footage I was worried about having to do parts as Patrick especially (and Sandy a little) but I was pleasantly surprised to find I enjoy playing as all of them! They're all easy to get used to, and have fun perks that make me miss them as soon as I switch out (although I again, quickly get used to whoever I'm playing next). Sandy's swing hooks definitely feel a little clunky but they're alright. I can't believe the original only required 40k shiny objects for Mr. Krabs's spatulas though, oh my gosh. Luckily my laptop is actually pretty decent so loading screens are fast, haha. I've only cleared Jellyfish Fields, Goo Lagoon, and Downtown so far, but I'm really glad I decided to go for this game! Thank you for the in-depth review! I really enjoyed it.
Fun fact: The artwork at the theater isn't artwork... IT'S SCREENSHOTS. NO CONCEPT ART, NO CUTSCENES, SCREENSHOTS. I can literally go see those places in two seconds.
I was enjoying the game until I encountered a glitch in spongebobs dream. I had been collecting all of the spatulas up until spongebobs dream when I was given the super bounce spatula without collecting it and at the same time the across the dreamscape spatula disappeared. I cannot collect it without restarting the entire game from what I can tell.
one of my friends had an issue with the annoy squidward spatula at the beginning, hope they get this patched
“I can only imagine what switch people have to go through”
Yeah you don’t want to. It’s genuinely not worth the money compared to the other versions, you don’t move at full speed on Joycons unless you move straight forward. The frame rate is sub 20FPS at times, it looks straight up like Windwaker on the GameCube resolution wise at times, particle effects? More like pixel effects, because they’re so chunky I can’t even tell what they’re supposed to be half the time. And did I mention Nintendo’s no refund policy? Legitimately skip the switch version, I hate to say it but it’s not worth the money.
I just wanted to say good job on the video bro. I love the game and I only have been playing it for 2 days now. Im a massive SpongeBob fan at heart and I'm glad purple lamp did this. The little details like Patrick doing surprise Patrick and SpongeBob doing the same and the moking SpongeBob meme in their idle animations is great. I will also be doing a video about a week or so going over the original to rehydrated
I bought the game for the switch. The game handles well load times are somewhat long. Some sounds issues and lowered resolution which is actually tolerable. Just takes some getting used to
when you're doing attempts for this game be careful there's a bug where one spatula won't count so you'll end up with the game file saying you have 100 but you'll still have 99 in gane. I missed out on the secret ending :(
Happened to me too, the whole game felt like a waste of time because of it
One small, kind of nitpicky, thing that I hope they patch is the G-love's alert sound effect when it sees you. It plays in its introductory cutscene in downtown Bikini Bottom, but at no point have I heard it during game play.
Your voice is chill af
yeah i got the Krabs spatulas just to 100% the game and get all the achievements on Steam. i think it is safe to say, i will never do most of those spatulas again whenever i play through this game.
I agree with you about the camera affecting the bubble cruiser, that for me is the worst thing about this game, I have to change the camera setting all the time because of this
Heaven forbid!
Game is a classic for sure and I grew up on it but it needs a difficulty option, after waiting months for this to come out and beating it in under 5 hours... Then nothing left. Easiest 32 achievements I've ever recived.
I did the grinding for the theater and it only has like 5 images and they were just renders of the games models
The way I see the crab’s spatula, there are 3 possibilities...1. Yah stole it 2. Yah stole it or 3. YOU STOLE IT!
My game glitched out and now I'm stuck with 99 spatulas with 100 in my save. I can't correct it, and I can't get the 100% because of it.
They need to fix this issue ASAP, and award anybody with 100 spatulas their trophies. This really soured my experience, and I spent AT LEAST 20 minutes or more grinding for shinies to give Mr. Krabs, so I'm not redoing everything when I already earned my trophies.
Same thing happened to me! Feels like the whole game has been a waste now
Battle for Bikini Bottom is now the Dark Souls of platformers because it has a controversial remaster.
Man, I am glad I play on PC so I don't have to deal with those load times, I thought 45 minutes of grinding at goo lagoon was annoying for 100%... Great vid man!
I got a corrupted game save after I died in goo lagoon on PS4 pro and I had to start over again
TrickyCM10 same thing happened to me on my first play through. Hopefully they fix that
TrickyCM10 same happened to me on switch, got all the way through rock bottom only to find out I couldn’t save and my last save was at goo lagoon
I see a lot of people bash on the multiplayer, saying it’s “boring” and “repetitive” now... I haven’t payed myself yet so I can’t agree or disagree but hear me out ok?
What if THQ and Purple Lamp (if they had the chance) went back and added DLC and extra content to the multiplayer. Like maybe adding more characters, new stages, hell even new bosses.
For example...
- Glove World, the cut stage of the original bfbb that was only in its concept art stages. Wouldn’t it be cool if you and a friend could battle hoards of robots on top of a moving roller coaster? What about the spinning tea cups?? And other carnival games.
- extra characters would be great... more NPC’s that aren’t playable though but are huge in the series. Like Mrs. Puff (her attack could be blowing up she does to do damage, or have an attack based on boating) what about Larry? (He could use his claws or his weights like in most episodes he’s in) and Bubble Buddy (all you’d have to do is take the moves he gives Spongebob and build upon them. they could even add pearl back in...
- Oh what if they added back in the scrapped smelly sundae as a sort of “powerup” where they give your attack an extra punch.
- Bosses, Maybe more robot variations of different non-playable characters (robo squidward) like a robot Mr. Krabs (with some type of money inspired attack)
Now I know these things will probably never happen, but it’s just me fan boying over here...
One thing that kind of bugs me about this game is the downgrade on the interconnected world.
Don't get me wrong, sometimes the interconnected world is improved, like being able to see taxi stop in Jellyfish Fields from Bikini Bottom, but the inter connectivity was less than it was in the original.
My favorite stage in the game is Goo Lagoon, for a multitude of reasons, The music, the clever spatulas, and most importantly, The inter-connectivity of the world. When you were done with the Beach, You could see part of The Sea Caves behind the shell toll (and vice versa), and you could see the pier and the island from Beach, It really felt like this was all one huge area.
This game for some reason felt the need to make entrances and exits to the cave just pure black (Even when you're exiting by the way), And it feels less interconnected. Granted, You can still see the Pier from the Beach, but with a jump to newer gen consoles, I think the game should have the ability to combine the beach in the pier into one area.
I know this is kind of minor, but it was one of my favorite things about the game.
I have it on the Xbox One S and the loading screens and fog are fine
I'm a Switch owner, The loading screens aren't as awful for me. The game is good for my book and i love it! Great review.
I totally agree! This game on the go is fantastic!
SAND mountain being covered in sand? You don't say.
Just as Fun Fact: (don't know if it was already said) in the German version they got the German voice actors from the show. Every line was new recorded I think that's wonderful
I'm so glad they finally gave Patrick the ability to attack in midair! It always felt weird he was the only one who couldn't
I noticed one very noticeable sound missing from downtown it's the metal creaking you would hear on the rooftops I never thought I'd miss that little sound for those who need more explaining because I didn't put it right but it's a much higher pitch that I think is coming from what I can only explain as a boat propeller slowly turning its got a sock on the front but anyway I miss it
"I'mma wait till the day one patch"
Day one patch didn't come out, tho.
Regarding the game, it's... nice, i guess. Too easy, platforming is too slow, and the fact the game isn't dubbed to Brazillian Portuguese pisses me off.
They did put it on PS4, you need to check for update for this game ‘cause it doesn’t install automatically but when I checked, there was one
@@jadknuckles8834 It's not a patch, it's just a crash report system (atleast on PC it was).
My shinny object grinding took like 1 hour I just grinned on guppy mountain
I'm pretty sure Sand Mountains were always just sand in the original as well. They're called "sand mountains" for a reason.
The fog can be disabled entirely on PC by tweaking config files, but that comes at a cost because the skybox was designed to mix with the fog and is pretty ugly green at the horizon. We'd need a skybox retexture mod before disabling fog becomes viable.
The way Purple Lamp fixed the sponge ball has me believing that If they remade the first movie game a lot of those horrible sponge ball sections would be more bearable.
0:00 “The wait is finally here”
uhh
Engrish.
I just watched Netflix on my phone while going down the first slide as Sandy a bunch of times for the krabs spatulas. I got about 1500 per run which was 1:40ish with finishing, going back up, dying, and restarting. It still sucked though at 108,000 is WAY too many spatulas.
Can confirm, switch owners are hurting
it's odd that you had such an issue with the cruise bubble, but i think i can see why.
detonating it early doesn't give you anything, while actually letting it hit something directly gives it quite the large blast, and it can even destroy stone tikis on it's own, now (at least, I don't remember it being able to originally.)
So you can beat battle from bikini bottom with only spongebob. So is only Patrick is beatable?
Jimbeanos yeah but in rehydrated you can get unreal unlocker on switch characters that will playable in everylevel with unreal unlocker!
Another thing I really don’t like about the game is when you collect all 100 golden spatulas there isn’t anything that happens besides a cutscene after you defeat robot Spongebob. Maybe I’m just nitpicking, but in Mario 64 you blasted yourself up onto Princess Peach’s castle and the Yoshi there would talk to you and give you 100 lives. In this one, you only get a cutscene and I think an achievement
I absolutely love the game, I 100% completed it yesterday. The only things I truly was disappointed about were the lost little details like the invisible boat in the mermalair can’t be interacted with when invisible, you can’t destroy things in the retirement home, and Patrick’s dream doesn’t loop like it used to. But the attacking mid air with Patrick and Sandy’s quick lassoing are a few of my favorite improvements. Also why is Sandy’s treehouse door so big in the inside? Or am I just remembering the old game incorrectly?
Nice review. I've been waiting for someone who actually knows the game to be able to compare it to the original.
Them raising the Shiney objects for mr Krabs😤
I got one thing to say. A Pac-Man world 2 theme
angryMario13 only the best gaming music around here 😏
*Dude you could use a new mic or maybe a pop filter. Not trying to hate, just a thought. Great review. Can’t wait to get this game.*
For grinding mr krabs spatulas I just went to mr krabs dream because of the enemies in the stage give you somewhat a lot if shinies
in the goo lagoon i had a glitch where i fell in the goo and spongebob swriled and he was across the other side. he basically shifted in the big water or goo and sank there. probably not my first glitch in the game but i found that weird. but kinda funny.
Honestly, they should have had more time to develop it. The switch version is beyond terrible, even though it shouldn't. The loading times are awful and the pop-ins bug me. This should not be happening on a current game. I know they said they were going to patch it, but when? And will it fix these problems?
Great review Conker!!!!! Can’t wait to play it
I loved Pajama Sam
Yes, the Sponge-bungee definitely needs some fixing.
And yes, Robot Sandy has become more fun. But Robot Patrick has become so easily boring.
AND YESSSSS, GRINDING SUCKS!!!
you failed to mention that the grind for shiny objects is even worse based on the fact you can’t get above a super-monster combo, which is a drastic change that nobody’s mentioning for whatever reason
I was able to enjoy everything the game had to offer despite the bugs until I started seeing how much I had to grind for the Mr. Krabs spatulas. So I'd say other than that, the game flows very well.
aren't you supposed to bungee from the top near the hook, not while you're in the middle of falling down
mindnomad I tried everything trust me.
@@ConkerHax I ran into the same issue, but the first automatic dive after you jump on the bungee sends you a bit lower than a normal dive. Mr. Krabs didn't give me the spatula after my first attempt though, so I still fell victim to the brokenness of that spatula. I do agree that Mr. Krabs' shiny object spatulas are the worst offenders though in terms of spatulas. I miss SBA so much.
I bought this for the Switch, and from what I can tell with the load times on your PS4 version it seems about the same. I'd say maybe the load times are a little longer on Switch, but not that much. Also, the Switch port I think has some slight frame drops sometimes, although maybe that's just me. And, that's not in portable mode, which I haven't tried. The lower resolution can make some of the seaweed/grass foliage a bit hard to look at when you move the camera and I noticed some bigger textures, such as the peanut butter curtain, seem to be a lower resolution than they should be when your up close. Also, I've sometimes noticed in the first hub world that sometimes one of the trees can graphically glitch to black and back if you have the camera just right, the one near Patrick's house. I also got stuck between some bamboos in the Downtown level, which I just restarted to fix. These are pretty dang minor though, and I'm enjoying myself as this is also my first time playing this game. I also couldn't believe that it was only $30 CAD on release. I can see why after playing, but I'm still impressed. I think the load times could be improved, but otherwise it's pretty good.
I have the switch game, and I kept falling off the ledge and dying, and once,it made the death noise at the black screen. (☠️R.I.P. Spongebob)
Speaking as someone who personally got the switch version of the game I can say my load times have been pretty stellar only about a 5 second wait for each load which I think is pretty darn good and for the remake itself it's amazing this game was my childhood but being the dumb kid I was I never got to finish it now I can do so and do it better than ever it's almost exactly the same as the original and I love it
Loading Screen is same compatible as my switch version, yet I found kinda bored kept dying most of my levels. What's more expensive that digital is over 11GBs, its not because of the game design, it's because of multi-language voice of characters as well. I tried different language and I'm kinda impressed.
I really wish I got this game on the Xbox, because the switch version of this game is HORRENDOUS. There is constant lag, frame rate drops, long loading times, glitchy, and I could just go on and on... And don't forget this game takes up 11 GIGABYTES! Just because of that, I had to archive almost all my games!
PrettyMuch Salt that blows, I was originally planning on only buying the switch version but because of that reason I decided to buy PS4 and PC instead
I didn't mind the fog in Sand mountain
The only way I could hit the bottom tiki on the sea needle is to hit it first try and if I missed jump back up then try again
as a switch owner the loading screens, while noticeable, were never enough to decrease my enjoyment of the game.
Im so mad. I have every single golden spatula, and in the main menu it says I have 100, but when I load the save, it only says I have 99. I would have gotten the platinum trophy, if it didn't glitch like this. And, yes I have restarted my ps4 and stuff. Has anyone else encountered this?
August Dalton I know someone who got all socks but it says their short 2. Stuff like this sucks and ultimately you are going to have to restart or backup a save from earlier. Sorry
@@ConkerHax yo is alright, it was glitchin in the main menu. Turns out i did have 99, but for some reason, it said I had the golden spatula in the chum bucket, which apparently I didn't have. Recently I just found it, and now I got the platinum trophy.
Why can't u replay the sponge ball arena
Layne Krusz you could play the sponge ball arena over and over again in the original
Layne Krusz yah me too so you should be able to
Layne Krusz yah but I accidentally skipped it and it's fun to roll around
@@thomasekeatjr.1953 I also accidentally skipped it and I was actually looking forward to it :(
5:27 Since not many people play with camera inverted, I didn't mention this problem but it affects me as well!
I found a better shiny grinding area in jellyfish field's and it was still awful beside's the mr krab spatula's and the fish hook sections this was a pretty good remake
Woah, the loading on death for console is WAAY longer than on PC.
On PC it loads for literally 4-5 seconds at most when you die.
Horde Mode having the Rock Bottom music is why I just play my own music over it
The lag on the switch from the graphics is abysmal
The switch loading screens aren’t the worst, we just get worst graphics and poor draw distance
WOW CONKS!! EPIC VID!!
