MEC does help a lot. You set your prop pitch to 97-100%, and your radiator to anything between 75-100%. Naturally it depends on the map climate as to how much you need to open the radiators. MEC doesn't completely get rid of the overheating but it does make it a lot more manageable. Don't forget to also switch your supercharger to stage 2 once you climb above 1800 meters.
I only recently started playing British air, its been a real treat playing the low-mid tier spitfires; didn't expect the guns to hit as hard as they do
I recommend using stealth belts with the Hispanos as the HEI seems to do more than enough damage to instantly kill most fighters you run into and since it's 2 HEI/1 AP you'll be slinging a lot of HEI downrange when you fire. You can also use stealth belts on the MGs but if you feel like tracers would be better then those also work because the MGs and cannons seem to share a pretty similar ballistics pattern.
The spitfire LF MK IX is awesome. I got my first 7 kill game on the american version of it, the climb, the turn and not having to worry about P51Hs is awesome. The only negative point of it is the speed that it drinks fuel but you can just take 30 minutes and be fine

Fellas get this also for Ground RB. 2x 250kg and 16 HE rockets who can oneshot almost everything if you hit center mass is a nightmare to face next to the busted Turnrate and climbrate
5:20, I think it's the whole wing-mounted gun thing that screws up leading the targets. Because I played the Mk 14e today and I'm absolutely puzzled as to how to spend 60% of my ammo on one guy and I was putting in enough lead. I think it takes some getting used to all over again if you stop playing it for a while

i feels like the matchmaking problem is the same for many israelian plane i have the same kind of waiting queue when playing Meteor NF or MK8 and it become almost impossible to find a match when making a squad with a friend playing a different nation.
you should play the spitfire mk 22 next, a 6.7 spitfire that (in my experience) almost only gets downtiers to 6.0 but doesnt have the ju 288 spam ruin it, you mostly get large teams.
