The fokker G.1 was the first twin-boom aircraft. The American Airforce was inspired by this plane and build their own P-38 Lightning. The P-38 Lighning turned out to be one of the best long range fighters of that time. They were the only fighters capable of escorting allied bombers to their objective. Thus having a huge influence on the outcome of the war. All inspired by some fine Dutch craftmanship!
It's actually strange, when you know that the only fokker g1, that escaped from the netherlands, ended up in the uk. And don't forget, that Anthony fokker himself, also started a company in the us (don't remember the name, but I do know it's now part of boeing) there where a few more dutch fighter planes in ww2, like the fokker TV, the fokker d21, and I believe that koolhoven build fighter planes, but I don't know the klu flew them, they were ordered by France.

He indeed worked for Boeing later on, he was a very influential engineer in the world of aviation. Is the fokker that ecaped still in tact in England. And yeah the Fokker D21 was also ordered by the Finnish air force. Later on i believe the Germans gave the captured Dutch D21’s to Finland aswell, but i could be wrong about this. However the D21’s proved to have served the Finnish very well in their fight against the soviets.

It only looks like a lot of ammunition. 4000 rounds is just 500 per gun! So they hit hard due to the weight of bullets in the air, but those rapid-firing MGs run dry fast.
They should allow an upgrade to the _Danish_ weapon loadout. (Danes negotiated a license.) It was the armament that had been mounted when the plane was displayed at the Paris-Le Bourget air show in Nov. 1936: 2x 23mm Madsen autocannon & 2x 7.9mm FN Brownings. That would bust planes up!
@@Urssaff It's interesting--the G.1 is a great roller and can do easy Chandelles standing on one wing. But I think that's partially a function of it's lower Wing-Loading & lighter weight overall. P38 has superior engines, which will let it muscle-through the same sort of maneuvers. The only advantage the G.1 has is if both planes are very slow. And once the Lightning gets powered ailerons & Fowler-flaps in the late J-block models, there's no contest.

Very cool looking aircraft imo, always love Twin Booms. Wasn't too interested hearing about the armament but in the nose they're much more effective than I was expecting.
This plane is a menace. Very fun to fly and the turn rate catches so much people off guard, you'll be able to win a dogfight against yaks or spits if you do make it through the first few turns

originally the Fokker g1 had besides 8x 7.9mm cannons also 2x 23mm cannons. Sadly missing that in WarThunder. Still happy there is at least 1 Dutch airplane in the game though, Anthony Fokker was quite important in the development of airplanes at that time but overshadowed by the next generation in ww2.

In circle fighting the person with the wider turn radius, but the faster speed around the wider circumference is going to be the winner. Imagine if somebody turns a really tight circle, and you keep turning slow and you come out on the outside of them on their tail. But the keys to get around that circle at speed. Probably this is not a scissors plane.
My first daily task this morning was to get a Thunderer. I like to use the American A-36 for this because it gets an attacker spawn and is fast as heck on the deck. Needless to say, I was pounced on by a flock of these Fokkers. I almost got clear, but ended up going down and taking one with me.

The flight model got completely butchered after the hotfix inertia changes and now it barely keeps up turning with Bf 110s. It's pretty mid, if not bad now.

It kinda shoots like a longer range shotgun. Those rounds are tiny, but toss enough and all kinds of tiny things get hit, like faces n stuff
