I agree you gave it a honest review, you mentioned the flaws and the unknown reliability. No way I would buy that when I can throw 3 or 4 resistance bands into my bag. You got it for free ;)
I ordered two that arrived a couple of days ago. After two workouts I’m actually impressed. Theres six training modes i think, and some settings/modes make the resistance feel more imho. I like em that much I might buy another two …… much better than my maxpro actually. Makes me realise that the concentric only on the maxpro really does make it an inferior product
I’ll stick to my fit, I love it. my power blocks that I recently bought, and my bands. This thing doesn’t look like it will Hold up. Appreciate the honesty in the review.
Appreciate you doing such honest reviews..I will stick with my resistance bands and a few dumbells for my travel exercise kit..No App...No batterys..no over heating😀
It's cool that we're seeing more and more of these devices come up. They seem to all have some issues. For example, The Max Pro looks cool, but it only has concentric tension. The Unitree Pump Kickstarter site makes this claim: A fully charged PUMP will take you through a week worth of full workouts. At 100% battery, the PUMP can last 1,000 reps at 22lbs (10kg) or 500 reps at 44lbs (20kg). That’s enough to keep you going all week, with efficient charging to get you back to capacity in no time. Your test did not seem to support this claim.
Great review! Never heard of this product. Unfortunately, it's a little to on the expensive side for me. Definitely worth wild for someone who's always traveling and has the extra cash 💸 to dish out though.
Really interesting device. Never seen it before. You gave it a fair review. I love some of the shoulder work you can do with it. Doing a lot of those exercises at PT right now. If I had the extra cash I would consider it. Thanks for sharing
Couldn't you increase the Pump's resistance from 44 pounds by simply attaching it to a Mutt Bar (which come in 11, 22, 33, 44, 55 and 66 pound sizes). This would also allow you to do all sorts of two-handed exercises with the "Mutt Pump" as it were...
@@hybridresistance I looked at their actual website and they didn’t offer shipping to where I lived so I found it on Amazon. I got it about a week ago and am loving it so far! Highly recommend!
My ex got those recently. A pair, you can double up the resistance or do exercises bilaterally. Kind of interesting, resistance is pretty good. Long term, probably not too worth it. If you've got money to burn, maybe. But I doubt they will hold up long term.
Biggest thing for me is the reliability. If this thing can hold up what I'm about to put it through, it's worth it for what it does and what it feels like.
Interesting product. The price point is probably too high for most people. I'd probably take a quality suspension trainer like pocket monkii on the road instead of this unitree.
Mike I purchased one of these after I saw your review. Now there is a knock off available called Harayaa Home Fitness Equipment Pocket Resistance Machine. It is around a third the price. Wondering if you knew about these and any thoughts on them. Thanks!
I haven't used in the last couple months. It still works, I just fell out of using it for habit. I would use it MUCH more if it wasn't controlled through the app for resistance.
I would like to see someone make one that combined a motor together with the twist resistance tech used by OYO (Nasa SpiralFlex) and Ancore, Then the motor would give you a smart variable resistance of 20kg. While the Spiral Flex gives you the heavy analog start weight.
I sure wish you could have put a meter on it to see what the weight actually is when it says 44 lbs. I watched another video where it was like less than 35 lbs when it said 44 lbs.. Since they gave it to you it would be nice if you could test that. I guess I could order it and check this and then send it back because cuz no one testing this will do this test.
Hi, Can you select one load for the concentric contraction and another load for the excentric contraction ? I am looking for equipment that would allow me to put double the weight on the eccentric phase of the movement compared to the concentric phase during each repetition.
@@mreverybody1150 Thanks ! I didn't know this tool. I already have some sailling pulleys, so I can make one myself. Otherwise, the Unitree pump can overload the eccentric phase. I bought 2 of them. You can make the concentric phase being reduce by a pourcentage compared to the eccentric phase. If you select the maximum reduction (50%) and the maximum load (20kgs), you will have 10kgs on the concentric and 20kgs on the eccentric. You can select the reduction between 1 and 50%, and the load between 5 to 20kgs. Personaly, I always work on eccentric 20%. The sensations are insane ! You can thus work equally qualitatively the two muscle actions ! It's a very cool device ! Worth it price.
I honestly haven't used it much. I started too many toys for my own good. One downside for practical use is only having one unit and having to use the app. I wish you could just adjust settings on the unit. With that said, thanks for the comment, because you're making me want to break it out.
No offense taken brother. I'd probably say the something if I didn't try it, but I will say the resistance and what that little box does is pretty amazing given the size and weight. I'm honestly thinking as technology develops these could give dumbbells a run for their money.
@@Beast_Mode_Jones I sold my max pro because there is no eccentric action. I don't care for the synapse because one can only workout one side at a time. I bought the handy gym and I do like it. I already had a bunch of kettle bells so I use both to get great workouts. I might be interested in the Unitree pump if they could make it have more weight and the price is crazy.

Yes, the battery is not good for practical use. But I will say I'm still having fun with it and actually using it as superset with my Total Gym.
Well, that company already made its money back for sending you a demo, your video made me buy one this afternoon!
Great to hear, thank you for watching and trusting the review.

Can we get un update ? Are u still using it ? Did it break ?
I haven't used in the last couple months. It still works, I just fell out of using it for habit. I would use it MUCH more if it wasn't controlled through the app for resistance.
44punds is still to little. 120LBS pr unit should be a minimum .
But I guss one could combine it with rubber bands to get best of both worlds?

Traveling soon, think I’ll stick to the bands. I’d like to have cash left over to do stuff like eat as that device is on the pricey side😂
I know it's expensive but the bullworker bow and steel bow are worth a review from you
I keep saying I'm going to look into it, I got to. It's just something that doesn't jump out and interest me.

I don't really have that capability, but I can tell it certainly feels like the weight is accurate.
How long is the cable?
Hey Mike, would you consider to do a comparison between x3 bar and Pump?
I'll just say that the x3 bar is better. This thing is cool but not as versatile and not sure how long it would last given the battery.
Wondering if there is an update on this product
I honestly stopped using it because from time to time I have to update my password which I forgot and have to use the app in order to operate.
Seems like a great idea except for the fact once the battery goes tits up you have an expensive paperweight.
Very true.

I am looking for equipment that would allow me to put double the weight on the eccentric phase of the movement compared to the concentric phase during each repetition.

The closest to what you asked would be the Synapse CCR.
