It requires a LOT of knowledge of Presidents and dates. Presidential trivia was my personal obsession in grade school; I didn’t know this for certain, but if this were $125k I would have been comfortable guessing Harrison. Harrison jumped out at me in the beginning because he was in the WH 1889-1893, Edison’s work on home electricity began in the late 1870’s I’m pretty sure. So through process of elimination it could’ve been either Arthur or Harrison. I would have guessed Harrison just because he was two terms after Arthur (1881-1885), and common sense tells me it needs to be tried and tested before being installed in the WH, but again that was my own personal instinct. This was a good $1 million question. Also would have been a decent $500k. Glad the USA winner drought is finally over.

Many people know this, but for those who don't: Benjamin Harrison was the 23rd President of the United States, serving from 1889-1893. As of this writing (June of 2023), he is the only President to represent Indiana in the White House. His grandfather was William Henry Harrison, the 9th President, who died after only 31 days in office. He served in between the non-consecutive terms of Grover Cleveland. He is also known for having six states admitted to the Union, the most of any U.S. President.
Haven't seen this show since Regis quit hosting. No idea who this celebrity is. Didn't know no one has won the million in so long. But this made me soo happy! 2020 is weird man.
The first president to have electricity in the White House was Benjamin Harrison. He served as the 23rd president of the United States from 1889 to 1893. During his term, the White House underwent significant renovations, including the installation of electric lighting. However, it's worth noting the anecdote about him and his wife being afraid to touch light switches is often associated with Franklin D. Roosevelt rather than Benjamin Harrison. Franklin D. Roosevelt, who served as the 32nd president from 1933 to 1945, did have a fear of being shocked and reportedly preferred to have others operate light switches for him.
