Just purchased this mic, can't wait til it arrives..
Overall mix was quite good. Smooth & warm. I'm impressed. Thanks for the test. Its clear quite a lot of work went into this 6+ minute demo by all the players! Video so well done! ~Dana Paul K. (Founder/Berliner Microphones, USA)
Glad we can be here for you with these sound text reviews. Thanks for watching!
I got this mic recently to replace a C214 I had and it was the best choice I made. Being to have multiple mics in my "locker" to tryout for different songs it cool. Listening to this I like the way you used each mic for your reasoning. Thanks!
Glad you are enjoying the new mic!
How's this mic on the high frequencies? I hear it a little sibilant from the youtube videos
@@francescodemanuele5503 I think the mic without the modelling has that high-end you might be talking about. When you activate a mic you don't hear it as much depending on the model you use.
@@genwally3538 Thank you for your reply, yes I already have a lil to much esses and was looking for a smooth mic for voiceover only. I'll stick with my nt1 for now and use some de-eeser. Maybe then I'll save up some more and take a shure ksm or Austrian audio
Thanks for the note at 3:00. I wondered why I couldn't hear anything.
do the mics like this one, the sc1, sphere lx and dlx have different price points because of more mic emulations available? are the emulations closer to the original in the sphere lx and dlx? or is the mic itself just a better microphone as you go up in pricing? or both?
Great questions that I’d also like answered - thanks for the great video
Can I use hardware preamp and compressor with sc-1?
Certainly. This is a condenser microphone that may be used with a preamp and a compressor, bypassing the UA modeling. >Mark
Just to clarify, if I buy this I can't print my song? Unless I use UA interface? Is this correct? It doesn't say this anywhere else. - at 2:01 - I'm dying to try this mic but you're telling me I can't print my song? I'm very skeptical, or I'm misunderstanding you. There's got to be more to it. As I understand the native "X" plugin will jibe with any DAW. Is this not true? I don't need to offload processing. I have a Behringer Uphoria 1820 ... TY
Honestly , how does this compare to slate mic modeling ?
I expect them to compare very well. Slate makes a point of recommending using their FG-73 or FG-76 microphone preamps. The Universal Audio SC-1 works well directly into any audio USB interface without a separate mic pre and at a significantly lower cost. >Mark
how does it stack up against the Sony C-80?
The UA SC-1 stacks up really well. It features higher SPL (High Max SPL of 145 dB) and supports Hemisphere Mic Modeling (providing up to eight iconic mic models to tackle any application). >Mark
@@BandH what are you choosing at the end of the day??
great music! I forgot you was testing mic's 😅
Sounds very „soft“ and without „grid“ .. like all cheap mics….
Price Doesn’t Matter You Got People Recording On $400 Shures As Long As It Fit The Source Price Shouldn’t Matter
