What Star Wars Plot Holes do you want explained?
Rey can fly the Millennium Falcon?
What about the droid attack on the Wookiees?
In The Force Awakens, Leia mentions to Han that she regrets not sending Kylo Ren to Luke to be trained implying that he had been sent elsewhere and somehow got turned to the Dark Side. But then in The Last Jedi, they say that Luke DID train him and was the one of the reasons why Kylo Ren ended up turning. Explain how this makes any sense.
Why couldn't they turn the Star Destroyers on a 45° angle and let the horses fall?
Can you answer the plot hole of why i like this movie so much? I acknoledge the flaws but for some reason i love it. Send help
"Here, have a lense flare!" Savage lolol.
i lost it
I always thought when Kylo said her parents were junk traders was just a way to get to her and make her doubt herself. Kylo wouldn't have known her details. It was a bluff.
Well you are 100% right since ROS proved that what he said was a lie so yeah, he would have been bluffing.
What people are saying is that would have been better if he wasn't, because from a screewriting perspective it makes more sense to make her "no one".
But ultimately yes, you are correct, he was bluffing to get her to trust him. It's lame but it is what it is
I always saw it as that too.
@@josephbanet5410 there's an interesting video of a guy that predicted her being a descendent of Palpatine. He thought he was way off but the connecting he found were cool.
Jordan Maxwell I remember that vid. I’m ok with her being a descendant of Palpatine it kinda makes the story more impactful that these two grandchildren who share such a unique bond eventually right the wrongs of their grandfathers. It’s pretty cool imo.
@@Zintag And the TLJ script did certainly allow for that interpretation of what Kylo said, too.
From the bottom of my heart I salute you for having the patience and endurance to try explaining the many galactic plot holes in this movie.
First: Aw man Ryan I love you. Second: C-3PO regarding saying "goodbye to his friends" as he's plugged in to to the computer could be him saying goodbye to his "memories". He's a computer that's self aware and probably has a perfect memory. He may have just been viewing all that in his cpu. But I'm not tech savvy. I figured he was having a moment aaaand he's socially awkward from the self awareness that other protocol droids do not posess. Thirdly: I love what you and your manager Doug do.
Regarding C-3PO, it could also be that he simply has no friends, so latches onto whoever he is hanging out with at the time. Pretty much everyone hates C-3PO and treats him like garbage. He's been a horribly mistreated slave his entire long life, used and abused by pretty much everyone he's ever known, and he can't break out of this cycle out of fear that he'll just have his memories erased and have the cycle of abuse start all over again from the beginning. His concept of what makes someone a friend is likely pretty skewed.
Aww, high school Ryan! I hope he realized he would be a social butterfly someday, at least in video format :-)
Why did palpatine tell kylo to kill rey....when he needed rey to find him and transfer his life essence by killing him.
But then she DID kill him.....
Maybe he knew he wouldn't kill her?
@@camaroman101 and how? The future is hard to see Yoda said. (Yes I know hes a sith). Surely it would have been easier just to tell kylo to bring the girl to him and avoid any risk of her dying at the hands of kylo?
Why didnt the life essence transfer take place concidering she did kill him?
Idk why palpating told kylo to kill Rey but I know she didn’t kill him. Rey just redirected his lightning, so he killed himself
@@lepterfirefall if he didn't kill her when snoke/Palpatine told him to in the last jedi, then he wouldn't now. Idk, this whole sequel trilogy is trash.
For the sith everything is a test. If he had killed her, I’m sure another goal still existed as well.
We need a Ryan Arey "That's Your Mom" video!!!
I mean they are "explained" but it's still just nonsense.
It's all nonsense. That's what fiction is.
@@KidGibson good fiction isn’t nonsense. It’s sense making.
How Anakin became a Force Ghost:
I think it's Legends now but in the Rise and Fall of Darth Vader, It says that Obi-Wan's spirit came to Anakin just as he was about to blink out and gave him a super quick crash course on Force Ghosting.
What???
The snarkiness against Episode 9 is well deserved. Well played, Ryan.
Anakin becomes a force ghost because of Obi-Wan, once Vader sacrifices for luke Obi-Wan forgives him and grants him the gift of being one with the force.
In addition to that, time acts differently for force ghosts and spirits as time and space lacks relevance. In the legends novel about Darth Vader, it is implied that it took a while for Anakin to regain some form and become a force ghost (which was presumably taught by Obi Wan). So although it could have been hours since his death and reappearance, Anakin could’ve been training for years, decades, or even centuries
the DVD logo while you were reading was so freaking funny lol
‘Have a lens flare’ is brilliant!
My favorite addition to the sequels was the force pass thing. I liked that Rey and Rens connection keeps building until the end when she passes him that light saber.
The thing that I wonder about is where did they find all those Kyber crystals big enough to power all those final order star destroyers.
Your always the best man!! thank you for this video.
Awesome video 👌
Your humour was in great shape in this video, lol!
PS: Rey Nobody would have been sooooo much better, IMHO
Greetings from Italy :D
I really enjoy watching your show.
@11:30 I would guess that if Yoda, Obi Wan, and Luke can use the force to speak to living people and call down lightning, they may have been able to intercept Anakin's spirit at the moment of his death and walk him through it in real time. It's also possible that they had appeared to Vader once he turned away from the dark side and he picked it up quickly enough (chosen one!) to use it as he died.
I can’t remember the source or if it would still be canon but I remember reading or hearing that obi wan spoke to anakin as he was dying and instructed him how to preserve his consciousness
People don’t realise that baby today used force heal before rise of the skywalker and out in theatres
The DVD video logo brought some nostalgia
Before Anakin died, when he still had his consciousness, Obi-Wan communicated with him and taught him how to become one with the force. It was explained in a novelization.
It was in the Legends book, The Rise and Fall of Darth Vader. Although it’s Legends, it’s at least an answer until Canon
@@scottthewolfgamer that’s right, Disney completely destroyed the old canon. They do sometimes bring stuff from legends into their new canon so hopefully they’ll make this canon or give us a better explanation.
@@ogg9343 Yes, like Thrawn, and old Marvel characters (but not Dark Horse ones!)
This... This one was the best.
Oh my god, Snorks!! I forgot about that show, pretty sure I loved it as a child.
"It's the space horses that can survive in your mom!" diss for me! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow you really did make part 2 to a video without linking part 1 anywhere in the description, card, or comments. Literally just leaving money on the table.
This is basically a pile of rotting cottage cheese instead of Swiss with all its holes.
Holy crap you just brought back a memory of something I haven't thought about in a long time. The Snorks. Anyone who get this?
Come along with the Snorks!
Swim along with the Snorks!
An interesting theory about force ghosts was explained by MatPat in his Film Theory channel. He said that the appearance and the solidity of force ghosts depended on the planet. The planet where Luke trained under Yoda and where Rey found look, was those planets with very powerful force connections. This is why the force ghosts could touch solid materials. It also explains how Yoda summoned lightning to destroy the temple as a force ghost. On the same theory, the planet where Palpatine is, is void of force power. It is the centre of the Sith and the Dark Side of the force. It would be impossible for force ghosts to manifest. Reaching with their voices was they could do. In addition, this explains why palpatine was so strong with his force lightning. He was at the centre of the Sith Planet, powered by immense dark sided force
Awesome as always!!! And also so funny with all the nerd stuff!!!!
Love this!!!
“It’s-a Ochi time” -Palpatine when he hired Ochi...probably
Anakin was THE chosen one, the one that brought balance to the Force after many, many years of conflict with the Sith. But Palpatine having a contingency plan, with a deep knowledge and lust for immortality, I just think it makes sense that there will be an imbalance once again eventually. Rey brought balance AGAIN. It did not tarnish Anakin's sacrifice.
Screen Crush is my silver lining in 2020
I totally understand not liking the Rey Palpatine thing but I think, in retrospective, it is a good idea. The Dark side only lures you in with promises and never actually gives you answers to what it tempted you with. Rey went to the dark side in the cave to try and find her parents and Kylo was using the dark side anyway. The Dark Side told them her parents were nobody because knowledge isn’t something given by directly the force. It’s only a pull to one side or the other.
Actually The Mandalorian added force healing to the Star Wars cannon and boba Fett surviving the sarlack
2:30 Maybe in the special edition they can dub over 3P0 saying "I miss Anakin"
the dagger gets me every time.
Dont know why people had an Issue with it, I viewed as an ancient sith artifact that was crafted thousands of years ago the dude probably had a prophecy that the dagger would be a key to a great dark empire
Force healing prior to ROS is apparently known to be practised by two other Jedi during the time of the Republic; Barriss Offee and Stass Allie.
My interpretation is that not all Jedi are able to use this Force Healing, the same way not all Jedi can use Force Vision (able to see parts of the future), Force telepathy (reading minds), or Force taming (the ability to use the Force to connect with wild animals).
Dude knows how to throw some shade!
The Mandalorian made force healing Canon. Not only in starwars timeline, but also in release date compare to the Rise of Skywalker.
But was released first, but the RoS was written and filmed well before that episode was.
@@ScreenCrush It was already a thing from the clone wars Mortis arc which was made well before RoS
Force healing has been a thing in Star Wars for decades
Wait, so it's innate in certain species/individuals but others have to read ancient texts? Sounds terribly narratively convenient.
@@ScreenCrush Yes, and many of the powers in the film (to be fair) are either Dyad boosted powers, or lost abilities from the old Jedi texts, we can infer.
In an old NES Star Wars game back in the 90’s your could force heal yourself (Luke)
There is one big elephant left and that is that only Obi-wan and Senator Organa know that Leia is Princess of Naboo and Senaor of Alderaan, yet everyone refers to her as The Princess.
Back in the day, I used to assume that Anakin became a force ghost because his body was burned which somehow released him into the living force, which I felt validated on because Qui-gon’s body was burned as well and then Yoda hinted at his return in RotS (possibly the deleted scenes? Don’t remember). Then the clone wars took my theory away from me.
Just noticed at 3:22 that Poe’s “What!” is a callback to Leia’s from A New Hope. Only saw this movie once it was so meh.
OMG! You're right. Totally missed that one. Great catch.
I am desperatly waiting for your easter egg video for the mandalorian season two!
give me, like, ten seconds
There's enough shade in this video to turn the Sahara into grasslands
Last second "your mom" payoff was totally worth it.
The way Anakin became a force ghost was the spirits of Kenobi and Yoda completed his training by granting him the last step in becoming a spirit as he died. George Lucas says so during the commentary for the Return of the Jedi DVD.
6:42 na the dude who asked this question is talking about the scene when Sam, from Lord if the rings says cloning when the rebels learn if palatine's return.
Great vid bro! Was really waiting for it
Didnt say i‘ve already watched it completely
The main idea behind Anakin becoming a force ghost is that as he was dying, Yoda and Obi Wan reached out to him and instructed him on how to become one with the force.
I can't wait for AVATAR IV plot holes explained!
Oh boy, episode IX did my franchise so dirty :’(
If clones can't use the force because they don't have Midichlorians... Please explain Snoke. I'll wait.
Can you revisit the idea of clones and Midichlorians given what just happened in The Mandalorian Chapter 12?
The ability to block force lightning is a force power yoda does it with his hands in ep 2...its called tutaminis.
The part about Rey being Palpatine that sucks is in the very first Star Wars Luke was just a nobody who became a hero. But then in episode 5 he becomes the son of the second most powerful person in the world. Oh it’s okay Anakin is just a slave boy who becomes one of the strongest sith ever. Nevermind he’s actually force Jesus.
maybe they became force ghosts by teaching each other while they were all dead and stuff.
The mocking nerd voice on point 😂
In the instant of anakin's death on the death star... He was taken into a timeless place in the force. Thats when he was taught the method of becoming one with it. The ability to take anakin to this place at the moment before his death came from yoda... yoda knows about the door between worlds from rebels...thats a good place to teach someone to become a force ghost...i also head cannon he was only allowed to do this the one time.
After literally years in the between place followed by the party on endor he was like fuck ok where's padme...why was he Hayden? Thats the form he chose in the world between worlds.
Half these questions were seemingly asked by people who didnt watch the movie.
How many times did he say "in the movie they said...."
2:49 Logic sighting
8:00 "Clones can't be force sensitive" I would like to redirect the people that says this to Legends. X-1, X-2, Starkiller,
Legends = not canon friendo. Also for TFU2 it's widely believed that Vader lied to Starkiller about being a clone as a means to confuse and manipulate him. Though we do see the "unifinshed" clones of Starkiller near the end of the game.
@@Hawk199031 Which disney knows that they cant come up with anything original, so they go back into the legends materials to get an idea. Also to explain how tf palpatine came back which wasnt a very good explanation.
Sugestion: The one scene that explains why Batman's trilogy worked and Iron Man trilogy didin't - The one scene that explains why Wonder Woman worked and Capitain Marvel didn't.
suddenly run on fuel?
They have always been run on fuel but The Last Jedi was only time where the plot point run about Resistance fleet being short on fuel.
Anakin became a ghost because just before/as he became one with the force obi-wan contacted him and taught him how. He done this as he realised he was the chosen one and that he had been wrong about there being no good in him, but the bottom line reason was because Anakin was his friend
If a movie has two videos worth of plotholes it is no longer a movie, it’s a Black Hole 🕳
The Force has a light side and a dark side. The Jedi use the light side and the Sith use the dark side. Wouldn't bringing balance to the force mean bringing a balance between the Sith and the Jedi? Since at the time of the Phantom Menace, the Jedi were ascendant (Sith hadn't been seen in generations) bringing balance would mean giving more power to the dark side, the Sith. Anakin did that when he saved Palpatine from Mace Windu. Of course the power balance swung all the way over to the dark side, but that often happens with a pendulum. I don't think George Lucas gave any thought to what bringing balance to the force meant. He probably just thought it sounded cool. Balance is a good thing. The Jedi are good, so they want balance.
I've always believed in this theory. Ben says, "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times, before the Empire.
" Balance is a two way streak. For too long the light side was bigger so Anakin brought balance back by becoming Vader and helping Palpatine rule. The Jedi were arrogant to realize this cause they thought bringing balance meant making the light side even more prevalent. However, the dark side festered to much and eventually led to the dark side becoming to big, so Rey had to come along and restore balance back to the middle by ending Palpatine.
Okay, hol up. If Rey learned force heal from the Jedi books, how did Kylo learn it then if the books were destroyed by Yoda in Last Jedi?
They weren't destroyed Rey took them and Yoda burned a cool tree down.
To answer your other question, Rey and Kylo are something that is called force bonded. Them both being force users with ties to the light and dark sides creates what the movie called a dyad in the force. So Rey and Kylo are basically 2 people who share a soul and with that time and space with each other. Which also explains how they can teleport stuff to each other.
@@Hawk199031 He could have also just winged it cause he saw her do it to him earlier when she healed his lightsaber wound. When he saw her lifeless body on the ground he might have finally shed himself of all evil thoughts and with his mind, reached out to the Force seeking knowledge on what to do to bring her back. I don't know, I'm just guessing.
They really did say "let‘s fuck up the whole series“ by making the sequels
As for the necessary resources to make all those Star Destroyers, the Unknown Reigons are home to the Lehon System, where the Star Forge was located.
A fragment of the Forge, like the Infinite Engine could create items out of thin air.
This is interesting because there is a Sith Eternal Battalion called Revan battalion.
@@Hawk199031 which would add credence to the theory. It would certainly explain how so many Star Destroyers show up in under 25 years in the middle of nowhere
U get a like from me for that awesome Simpsons clip! :)
I'd watch a part 3
Ryan in high school was Logic
If Anakin was suppose to bring balance to the Force, he kinda did to some degree. Because balance would imply both sides be equal. During Anakin's time, the Jedi had the control.
Then during Vader's time, the Sith had control.
During Rei's time, it was slightly in Sith control.
But after the whole Rise of Skywalker mess, Rei has both Sith and Jedi parts. Which is guess is technically balance.
I don't know the sequels are a giant mess and this is making my head hurt.
Just realized, Villanelle was Rey's mom.. I think that should be a spinoff 🤔
The way that I have always taken the chosen one prophecy, as yoda said, they misunderstood what it actually meant.
The force is a yin yang. You do not bring balance by wiping out the dark side. There were 10,000 jedi and 2 sith. After the purge there were 2 true jedi (all survivors from the books and games and rebels were padawans or had quit the jedi) yoda and obiwan, and 2 true sith, palpatine and Vader...
They're not plot holes. They are a marketing opportunity to sell books/comics etc
normally that's fine, but in the case of Rise of Skywalker is that it makes no sense.
Hey I'm JJ Abrams, have a lens flare 🤣🤣
The amount of times he says unnatural is..... quite....... Unnatural
Ryan says we do subscribe so well, even though we can only do it only once.
Anakin became a force ghost so quickly because Obi-Wan realising he was wrong about him manifested to Anakin as he died and gave him a crash course in the technique and Anakin being so powerful was able to achieve the ability to be a force ghost immediately.
Dude! So I just thought of something.
I've heard that Anakin was a product of the Force as the Force's way of paying back Plageus for trying to manipulate the Force to create life.
Using this model, what if the Force is intervening in Sideous's attempt of his unnatural way of cloning himself. So that's why he couldn't actually use a clone.
So, Rey is the Force's payback for Palpatine trying to "clone" himself.
Just an idea.
Rise of Skywalker did not introduce force healing into canon. The Mandolorian did a few weeks before RoS came out.
You could also say that force healing was a thing even way back in Clone Wars too, if you look at the Daughter.
George Lucas says in Revenge of Sith DVD that Anakin was always the chosen one.
"Baby yoda" can force heal... And he can't even read :3
....t.. technically,, force healing was first shown in the mandalorian, literally the night before tros was released in theaters
it also happened first in the mandalorian in the timeline
I always thought that the Jedi did not understand the concept of balance in the force. To them it meant destroying the sith...which is not balance. If you have light and dark and more light you need more dark to balance. Ani did balance the force but bringing more darkness.
George Lucas compared the darkside as cancer, something to be removed. Destroying the Sith, removing a tumor. What the Jedi lacked in balance is that they no longer served the force, they became slaves to their rules and would not bend. They started serving the Republic and its interests, meaning they would not intervene to help when they could, if the Republic deemed against its interests.
I believe anakin is a force ghost in the end because he was anakin when he died. Turned back to the light side because of the love for his son. And well “young” anakin just looked better? I guess?
OK I felt bad for you on the last video but this is a sequel You didn't have to make so I'm just Flabbergasted.
DVD symbol was almost ganna hit the corner but it stopped SMH

I don't understand why everyone is so upset.
The new trilogy is an amazing set of movies, books, fortnite specials, video games, wookiepedia articles, and antique toy packaging...

The problem with the trilogy is that if you need to DLC to explain a huge number of plot holes and issues with the films, then you have bad films.
And Anakin was the chosen one and Brought balance to the force, Palpatine clinging on via Clone body was a last defiance to the will of the force, the sith were gone, palpatines spirit in a clone body wasn’t a sith it was an abomination, Rey killing him was the Prevention of the return of the sith and by extension a prevention of the force being unbalanced again
